Having bought a well branded range hood with nice design and then having to purchase a carbon filter at ($70.00 a bit expensive for what it is) to assist in filtering. I am disappointed at the filtering system as it appears to not work efficiently, why did they not use a fiber type filter instead of the basic filters supplied. The carbon filter is really not adequate as some oil mist and smell still gets through, I understand the carbon filter is more about reducing smell. We bought this unit on the understanding it would recirculate air, it doesn't do it very well. Its pity the manufacturers don't put more thought / effort into recirculating the air more efficiently.

Had it for half a year now, I don't think the fan is doing it's job. Very loud but feel like that's all it's doing, making noises.
