cute and compact. i couldn't fit 18 12-ounce cans in this. i dont know how they packed it. we did get about 14 cans but then you can't use the little tray that they add for small items - it rests on the top. still - it kept our cans COLD. we camped for 4 days (albeit in cool weather, it did get into the 70s during the day) and our cans were cold enough to drink right out of them. no ice needed! pretty helpful item for camping with no hookups. wish i had ordered the next larger size.

I don’t generally write reviews, but took the time because in this case this is an exceptional product. I can find good large coolers but no small ones like this that keeps my stuff cold and ice until the next day. He is my trusted buddy. I just wish they had a black or a color that wouldn’t stand out as much in my limousine which is all black on the inside. I bought it for great ice retention and that is what it has delivered. Can’t ask for more.

Love the size, we put the 1.5L water bottles inside with some ice packs for day trips and long drives (interstate) but leave the esky in the car and refill our personal bottles throughout the day (family of 4). We have frozen ice packs and the top and bottom and stays cold all day. Haven’t really used the handle, prefer to use the strap as I am worried the handle may snap… which is my reason for 4 stars not 5. We got the grey which is dark on the inside. Would have preferred it to have the same white inside as the pink one.

Keeps items cool but melts quick in the hot heat, the pink is cute, but faded after a few uses on the beach sitting in the sunshine. Great for a quick day trip to the lake in comfortable temps though. Perfect size for 1-2 people.
Bought this last week. Went with the Engle brand over the waeco ice box. Bad decision. Doesn’t keep ice frozen for more than a couple of hours. Should have just bought a cheap Kmart esky. Probably would work better.
It is a 18 litre cooler drybox. Retro Americana design, with lockdown metal latches they are small so not sure on longevity if treated roughly. It does provide a good seal. I added some aluminium food liner and used two folded Youfodz ice packs. Loaded all things needing to be kept chilled prior to picking up camper van. Had a problem with powering up the van fridge on first night. Next day resolved this issue and relocated food to camper fridge. The ice packs were still frozen though not as much as when loaded. Overall this cooler works very well. It also has fold down handle which makes it very portable.
I'm new to Engel and found out about the company through DMFD youtube videos. Bought the 13 quart to hold drinks for short trips on the boat and to travel to cookouts and what not. Couldn't be happier. Throw an ice pack or two in and keeps things cool for hours. The small tray that comes with it is awesome too. I keep my wallet, keys and phone in there and they are protected from the elements.Compared to competitors, the products are awesome and you get to save a few dollars in the process. When it's time for a new 48qt cooler, it will be an Engel. Only downside to the company is that they are not sold in my local area (Murrells Inlet, SC), so I have to order online and wait for delivery. If the folks from Engel read this, send a sales rep to the area. Lot's of ... MoreI'm new to Engel and found out about the company through DMFD youtube videos. Perfect for everyday use. use it for the frozen or fridge items when shopping, take it with cold drinks and snacks for day trips. size means it can stay in car all the time.
I was initially really impressed with this little cooler, it looks rugged, seals tightly and is the perfect size. Unfortunately when I really started looking at it I noticed the plastic hinges that it uses. I'm surprised that they would go so cheap on a part that is used constantly. Just the weight of the lid open boughs the hinges out and I immediately realized that they wouldn't last long. Then I saw that the screws on the top side of the bottom hinges were coming out, and I went to tighten them. They were all stripped and the screws used are very small diameter and short screws. These will never work and I don't know who's idea it was to go with this way of attaching the lid. And this was all before I ever even used it. I don't think I got a "bad one", I think ... MoreI was initially really impressed with this little cooler, it looks rugged, seals tightly and is the perfect size. Have been very pleased with this drybox / cooler. It's solidly built and seals extremely well and the metal latches help it seal extremely well. Does a good job of keeping things cool for about a day when using a couple of smaller ice packs along with ice. Easily fits four 12-oz. cans and 2 water bottles along with a couple of ice packs. It's the perfect travel size for a couple of days and fits nicely under an ice dispenser.
