Do NOT waste your money on this hunk of junk. It has been nothing but issues after the first month of purchasing. ANY TIME we want to print, it prints missing chunks of text and we have to "Clean the Nozzles" in the menu. This is a painstaking, annoying process involving the printer printing out trial grids and asking "are all the lines connected?" they never are and you have to go through this process multiple times for it to FINALLY print. It constantly jams even when we only have 1 sheet of paper in the unit. Our ink is full and it still gives us this constant "clean nozzle" issue. A total pain and hassle full machine to use. So upset we spent over $200 on this worthless piece of garbage. It also cannot be wired and you HAVE to download an app to use it!

Good printing if and when you can get it to print. I'm tech savy, repair my own computers and all my electrical devices. This printer is something else. The most complex, user unfriendly device I've ever owned. I keep my printer a couple of feet away from my desk and the postage size info screen is not convenient at all to try to read and decipher what it's trying to convey.Often, when I click "print" with my mouse, nothing happens. Then I see "error" on that tiny screen. I have to then try to figure out what the error is. Turn off the printer. Turn it back on, wait, go through a bunch of BS, then sometimes it will print, and print, and print. It keeps printing what's in que, stuff I no longer need or 3 or 4 of what I was previously trying to print.Obviously, ... MoreGood printing if and when you can get it to print. It keeps printing what's in que, stuff I no longer need or 3 or 4 of what I was previously trying to print.Obviously, how this works was thought up by a team of youngsters that don't have any experience with older printers that you plug in and they work, everytime, all the time and give a warning when ink is low, and you just keep them plugged in and on standby forever. This printer reminds me of the first printer ever available and you have to live with all its idiosyncrasies or have no printer al at all. I like the fact that it has refillable ink tanks and when you can get it to print, the quality is acceptable. But it is infuriating to be able to get to that point. I can think of lots of ways to make this much more user friendly. I keep getting popups from Epson where they want me to download updates. I've done a few, but it makes no difference. This took me about an hour to get it set up to where it would work. Where all my previous printers the last 25 years were ready in a 5-10 minutes. I've owned Epson before and been very pleased, but this printer is going backward in user friendliness. Buy it if you are bored and want to spend hours figuring out exactly the intricacies of its use and exactly what you need to do to make it work as designed. I don't have time and I have better things to do.

Disappointed - disconnects from Wi-Fi, printer errors
31 May 2023

I love the idea of a refillable tank instead of spending a lot on ink cartridges. We previously had an Epson Workforce that lasted a really long time, and we didn't have problems with it till it finally wore out, so I had high hopes for this printer.Unfortunately, it randomly disconnects from the connection and we have to mess around with it a lot and sometimes uninstall and reinstall the program. Also, we've had several paper jams in just a few months (we rarely had any with the previous printer). Right now we had a paper jam and cleared out all the paper, but the printer still thinks there's paper stuck in there and won't work. It gives us a printer error, and we keep trying to open the unit and look for paper with a light but there is no paper stuck inside. So I have to wait till tomorrow and call right away when I get home from work. I'm very disappointed because our other Epson was so trouble free, we never had to think about it, except to replace the ink cartridges. I wish I could recommend it, but I can't when it doesn't work when we need it.

We bought this printer to go with the Gateway All in one that we also purchased from Walmart. I don't believe there has ever been a setup that someone could accuse of trying to bother them to death before now. This printer refuses to stay connected to the wifi! I have taken it and attached it via USB to my PC in a desperate attempt to print schoolwork for my son who is homeschooled. If it weren't for the fact that I can usually print a TON of his work in one session, I would have sent this back with a reality check to the company. By the way, you can't connect via ethernet. I switched from HP to Epson on 08/03/2022 and it has been the worst device decision I have made in quite a while. I LOVED the idea of an EcoTank because of how much I print, but the printer has stopped printing legible copies. There are lines and streaks through EVERY page I print. This was not the purpose of having a printer. I am a working full-time student with SEVERAL irons in the fire and this product has been a terrible addition to my life. The app has issues connecting to the printer and what does print is a waste of ink and paper. This was supposed to be more cost-efficient for me and it is not. I can't print my workbook for a class I paid to take because when I printed it the first time it was 84 pages of garbage, scrap paper. Is the life expectancy of the printer supposed to be less than 6 months? Because that is where we're at. I have spent so much money that I don't have to spend on printing at other locations. There should not be an issue after only 6 months of use. I have NEVER had these issues with any HP printer that I have owned. Initially, it was more cost-efficient to purchase the Epson with the EcoTank than to continue to purchase ink cartridges for my HP PhotoSmart printer but the value is no longer there. Knowing what I know now, it was never there. This experience is showing me that HP is the superior product and I have made a bad purchasing decision.

Paper jam
13 July 2023

I've had quite a ride with this printer already. It jammed within the first 10 pages it ever printed. When I removed the paper jam, I could never print again. It constantly said there was a paper jam even though I could see no paper in there and I looked very hard. I contacted support over email and also tried to Google ways to solve the problem but nothing worked, including the troubleshooting from Epson support. They said I needed to contact support by phone for live help. They have terrible (for me) hours that are exactly my work hours, but I managed to get a call in and was on the phone for about half an hour. They had me try a few things but it was still broken so they're sending a replacement. They had me try a few things but it was still broken so they're sending a replacement. Luckily the warranty that came with the printer fully covered this problem and it wasn't terribly hard to verify everything to get the replacement. I kicked myself for not getting additional coverage, but in this case it didn't matter. I think I will purchase extra coverage for the replacement. The one annoying thing is I have to send back the broken printer. As for printing itself, it seems fine. I think it's best for documents and maybe not the best for photos. Adding ink is easy. It's almost completely automatic. I'm hoping to enjoy the cost savings in the long run. I like that it's a back feed printer, so it has less opportunity for jamming, although that's ironic considering my whole issue.

They don't have to be epson brand either. I just bought a set of two bottles of black ink, plus one of each color, magenta, yellow, and blue, Full size bottles which I know will last me about a year and I print a lot, and I got the replacement ink set for under 20 bucks!!! My old printer took cartidges that either got used up right away or would dry out and ran me like 60 bucks. I'll attach a few photos of some recent shirts I did. Please note, if you buy an epson ecotank to use it for sublimation printing on T-shirts, do NOT install the original ink, you have to buy sublimation ink (it's just as cheap) and sublimation paper (also cheap) and print the image in mirror format and use a heat press to transfer the image onto the t-shirt. The ink when heated, turns into a gas and then gets absorbed into the fabric (only works on polyester) but it's much better than cricut vinyl crap because it will NEVER fade, you can't feel the image, it won't crack or anything. Check out sublimation on youtube if you're interested, you can sublimate on MANY different things, wood, glass,, tumblers, etc. Check out my shirts below to see how bright and beautiful these ecotanks print!
