Wow! What can I say? I have essentially transitioned from a Ford Model T to a Tesla. This Epson EcoTank was super easy to set up in that I only needed to look at the manual for knowing how to fill the ink tanks, since it was a new concept to me. I must say I was a bit nervous, especially after having seen the obligatory “Be careful with handling as it will stain” message, but it was very simple with a twist of the cap and matching the shape of the bottle to line up with the same shape within the ink compartment. In all, this EcoTank has a bigger tank and is more efficient and eco-friendly than any other printer I have had in the past. I would truly recommend this product to anyone and everyone. It works for business people who print more frequently as well as those who print at home who do not print as frequently. The file that is called Drivers and Utilities Combo Package Installer is the one that helps you in detecting and installing your printer to the wifi network. After a quick reboot, you are all set to go whether it's your computer or your cellphone. You can print from either. Oh, and there is an app for your phone called the Epson Smart Panel app. There is also a full suite of embedded features that protect your data and there is even voice-activated printing! I thought the print quality was exceptional based on my HP which isn't very good for photos. You get auto 2 sided printing and the paper tray holds 250 sheets of paper. The printer has a 2.4"inch color touchscreen that is super easy to use. It prints up to 17 black/9.5 colors ISO ppm-print speed with no warmup time which is pretty fast and it costs about 2 cents per color ISO page vs 14 cents with a color laser toner. Big savings over time! I think this printer is great for business environments and will be using mine in my small business and taking the HP to the house where I don't print as much. There is a 2-year limited warranty on this product when you register it although the PrecisionCore permanent printhead is supposed to last the life of the printer. It is also ENERGY STAR qualified to so will also save you some money there. I really admire Epson for all their green initiatives from being ENERGY STAR qualified, to having this be a recyclable product and being a partner in SmartWay Transport which helps companies plan to reduce freight emissions. The quality of their products and these initiatives make them a company that I am happy to recommend.

I got tired of buying very expensive cartriges or having problems with cheaper alternatives for our office laser printer. So I wanted a printer with an ink tank. Price of ET-5150 was what I could afford. First disappointment is it doesn't do duplex (both sides) copying. And I do a ot of that. So I bought a duplex scanner that sends to printer to solve that problem. The speed is slow compared to a laser printer, especially with long dpuble sided color copies. The color is also more faded than with either of my other laser printers. I love the ink tanks and price of refil bottles. So far it's been reliable and consistent with printing and scaning (one side scaning). So, I'll adjust to it's limitations and hope it serves us (small office) well.
Bought this printer for the eco saving of the cartridges. Found that the set up sheet was not very helpful. Took days to work out how to do a pdf scan but a forum set me straight. The scanner did not automatically do a desk top short cut for the scanner so I was trying to work off the very tiny screen on the printer. Took days to work out how to do a pdf scan but a forum set me straight. The scanner did not automatically do a desk top short cut for the scanner so I was trying to work off the very tiny screen on the printer. So you pay extra for a printer with less features but I guess the environment is worth it. The paper feeds into the printer so no more papers on the floor when you forget to put out the catcher. The plastic feels very light so I think care might be needed so as not to break something but it has a large capacity for the paper so you don't have to fill up too often. It is very light to carry though so that's good. Has a very small footprint in the office which is also good. Print quality is OK. Light but sharp. So after a few days of frustration I have not decided to throw it out the window and it has become adequate for our small office needs. Nothing to rave about but OK. Time will tell if it saves money on ink but good not to have cartridges to dispose of. If you have difficulty seeing you may have trouble reading the tiny print on the tiny info screen and if you have large fingers that may be a problem too but no-one in our office is in this category so once again it is ok.
As a small business owner I found this printer to be fantastic it was extremely efficient but also something that was easy to use. I feel like this printer itself was very simple to set up wirelessly and I was able to do it in under 10 minutes which I felt was impressive. I was very pleased to see all the different functions that it can do from scanning to printing and the fact that it uses less ink and runs off of easy to fill tanks. I love that the printing itself was extremely fast but also very high quality. I was shocked at how fast it can actually print out bulk without having any ink discrepancies or issues. I needed a new printer fast when my 3yo HP MFP M281fdw printer gave me an error message that a non-HP chip had been detected when I replaced the cyan cartridge. The kicker was that it was a genuine HP cartridge and that I had recently replaced the magenta and yellow cartridges (with no problem) which were purchased earlier than the cyan toner. Apparently HP sends out wireless updates to its printers with the latest being 20221010. When none of the internet solutions worked, I tried resetting to the original factory default values, but that just gave me a 49 service error, which completely disabled the printer. Needless to say, I am never buying another HP printer or toner cartridge. Inkjet printers have improved greatly from what they were years ago. I purchased the ... I purchased the Epson 5150 because I didn't need the fax function. Setup was completed in about 45 minutes and connected easily to both the PC's and Mac's in our household. Filling the ink tanks is easy and spill-proof. Love that you can visually monitor how much ink is left in the tanks and that it will be much less costly to replace the ink than a laserjet printer. Printing is a little slower than my old laserjet printer, but it's not enough to be an issue. Color print quality is better, because I'm not trying to eke out the last portions of color laserjet toners with suboptimal print quality anymore.

However, it will not do a 2 sided original to 2 sided copy automatically. You need to manually put the original in the scanner glass and flip it. What a pain! Not productive for our office setting. Some may not have issue with that. I should note that it will do 1 sided originals to 2 sided copy using the ADF. So weird that Epson did not include 2-sided to 2 sided. I've been using this printer for a few days now, and I am so pleased with its performance, between working from home and being a busy mom to 4 young kids, I am always printing or copying something. I print out a lot of Graphs and Charts for work and with the vibrancy and sharpness of the Epson Ecotank Pro ET-5150 the lines do not get lost, So my associates and Clients can read them perfectly. For at-home use, my children are loving how colorful and bright their new chore charts are! On top of all the Pros for Printing there are also Pros for copying, starting with how easy and convenient changing over to copying is, it's literally just the touch of the button, it scans your page and copies in no time.
