Hat is machine washable which is nice. Faux fur on ear flaps is comfortable. The small ear hole flaps are not the easiest things to attach to the buttons. The ear hole flaps look dorky if they are not attached. So, I cut them off and took off the buttons. That way I don't have to mess with attaching them to the buttons. The ear hole flaps cover the ear holes, which are essentially button holes. What's the point? Your exposed face is going to get much colder or wetter than your ears will ever get.The satin crown lining is attached to the outer shell in only two places so when the bill is snapped to the shell the inner lining is pulled out with the bill, exposing the white writing on the inner lining. The L/XL is just about right for me. If you have a much larger head than mine, it may be a tight fit.The buckle on the ear flaps is much easier than one where you have to tie the flaps together. The strap can be extended 4.5 inches from its shortest length.

Fantastic Winter Hat

There isn't much to be said about this hat other than it is exactly the great value and quality to be expected from Ergodyne. It will keep your head plenty warm in freezing temperatures. The buckled chin strap is a nice feature to ensure the hat stays snugly in place. It is comfortable for all day wear but I recommend keeping a ball cap or similar nearby incase temperatures increase throughout the day.I recommend this trapper hat to anyone for wear in cold weather.

Felt like it was "plugged-in"!

I received this Black 6802 trapper hat yesterday. It is the warmest hat I've owned up here in the NE!!! When I first put it on it felt like a plugged in electric heating pad on my head! It truly felt like it had it's own heat source. I'm glad I didn't trust the sizing chart because my forehead measures 23.75" around which indicated I should buy the S/M, but it was uncomfortably tight. I'm glad I ordered 2 sizes (but not glad I had to) and the L/XL fits PERFECTLY! Although the X/XL is supposed to fit a head measuring 27.15". Also, $14 shipping is crazy for 2 light items, so I bought a 2nd spare $4 cheaper plus free shipping on Amazon. I I bought this hat for my husband for Christmas. However he unexpectedly ended up having to work in Michigan this last week. I overheard him talking about getting a new hat and knowing I had this one I gave it to him early. So glad I did especially with all the snow in Michigan, it is waterproof and he says extremely warm!! He also says all the guys on his crew now wants one!! I would highly recommend this product... Don't let the price fool you it is of great quality!

Kewl Cold weather protection.

This item was exactly what I was looking for. It fits and the flaps reach around my chin with room to spare. The cap retains body heat well enough that I sometimes have to take it off momentarily to let some of the heat escape. Good value for the money. I would buy it again.

Very Good

Our transit drivers appreciated having these hats most recently during the freezing temperatures. They kept the wind off their ears and are very warm.

Very Warm and fits well

I have had this hat for a couple years. I only wear it on the coldest days or when I am out for extended periods. It is very warm! My first use was on an overnight camping trip with snow and a low of 4deg F. Keep my head, face and neck dry and warm (that was about all that was warm). I recently wore it while clearing snow on an open cab tractor with -20deg F windchills. Still dry and warm. The flaps make a great seal all around and it doesn’t retain body moisture. I would recommend this for cold, windy and snowy times.

A great winter cap for those who like enjoying the outdoors in the bitter cold. Completely covers the ears and neck without blocking vision. Can be easily machine washed but use the gentle cycle.

Winter hat

I have this already. I purchased it for my partner. This is the warmest hat I have worn. I love it. I am a traffic guard. I am out in all sorts of weather. I highly recommend it!
