Best grip I've ever used.

Have used other grips like this for the past several years. Finally got a set of Ergon grips and now I understand how much better they are over knock offs. Don't waste your time on knock offs get Ergon and you will never look back. Best grip I have ever used on flats, uphill and down comfy all the time.

Superb. Provide a much more comfortable grip than the stock grips. Super tacky rubber, will be impossible to slip off these things. The rubber "wing" that supports the heel of your hand is fantastic. I used to suffer with numbness after rough DH sections but no longer. Make sure you have the wing at the correct angle - too low and it won't make any difference, too high and you'll feel like your hands are being bounced "over the top"

These grips changed my view on hand comfort. With or without gloves, hot dry days or cold rainy days, these grips keep my hands feeling fresh and ready for the next test.I probably suffer from over-gripping and poor technique. My bike fit also has a short reach so I have more weight on my hands. These grips are just a bandage for a larger problem, but gosh darn it does that bandage work. Solid platform and good diameter to grip on the downs, nice wide ledge to rest my palms on fire-road grinds. No outboard collar makes it easier to use the whole bar length, and there is no discernible rotation in the grip so I feel like there's no trade-off.Only downside is that after 1 season, the textured underside is starting to deteriorate where the tips of my fingers grip. ... MoreThese grips changed my view on hand comfort. Not the most durable rubber. Its also not the SUPER TACKY stuff a lot of riders are moving to these days. When my hands get sweaty with no gloves, there is a decent amount of slip, but that just means I need to ride faster to dry them out, right?

Great for numb hands
8 September 2022

This is my go-to grip for XC riding. I have use several types of round grips including small and large diameter. I tend to suffer from numb hands and, in particular, issues with my thumb for shifting after being on the bike for more than 1 hour. These helped relieve that issue. Keep in mind that they need to be positioned correctly as well so that your wrist stays neurtral.

Great upgrade.
23 January 2023

MTB use. Didn't know how comfortable these grips are until I borrowed my buddy's mtn bike that had similar ones. Liked them so much I just put them on my YT Core2 - they feel great whether I'm cruising, climbing, or bombing slowly downhill. Maybe I'm just getting soft and prefer to be comfortable now? Hah

Gripping...

Purchased these as I was experiencing numbness and general discomfort on longer rides. My partner uses the larger Ergon grips with the bar ends on her bike and while I find them comfy for long xc rides, when things get fast and chunky, I never feel totally in control as they're such large grips. These are the perfect compromise, Plently of support for longer rides, but not so chunky that you can grasp the bars properly. Fitting is easy and the single lockring does a fab job of keeping the grip in place. I was slightly concerned that they might move out on the trail but once they're nipped up, they're solid. The silicone material that makes up the body of the grip offers plenty of traction. Although they felt comfy in the garage, I realised that they needed repositioning after a couple of miles.Overall, good grips for an all-rounder type bike. Really happy with my purchase and the speed of delivery

Larger size - excellent
12 July 2022

I've been running the standard size GA3 for a number of years, but have been after a bigger size for while. These are just what i needed. I'm a size large glove, hand measurement is 9.5. The extra diameter is now feeling just right, especially for the more knarly descents.

The fins are the very best for preventing wrist slouch - not for resting upon - thus, best in minimizing fatigue
17 November 2022

I last used GP2 grips on another custom-built bike that I switched between gravel and mountain tires. I love the trails, especially mud and also night riding: SO sold that bike and custom built a 100% dirt (Krampus) and chose these GA3 grips (both bikes via Green Lizard, Herndon, VA): AWESOME: 1) they are very, very grippy even in the rain; 2) the fin is very much worthwhile: it keeps me from slouching my wrists during the infrequent breaks in rough riding; the fins don't get in the way of downhills; you should sense them, but they do not interfere; 3) BUT, they may require a few fine adjustments in rotation to get the fins in the best position. I used painters tape next to them marked in line with some of the makings on the grip -- I initially overcompensated; then again; then got one correct, then the next with much less than a 'mark'! I do NOT rest my hands on them: I use them to remind me to momentarily recorrect my wrist position while negotiating trails. Only on smooth surfaces will I reposition to rest on the fins - they provide just enough -- but properly adjust so as to not irritate a nerve ( i had that issue for a short ride, but that last fine tuning did the trick). I'm surprised how much these grips have enable me to maintain wrist strength after several hours of riding due to position my hand (wrist) vs using the fin for rest (like I had with the GP2s). 4) I cannot indicate how much cushy comfort they provide as I ride with out suspension but on awesome 29+x3" tires upon 50mm rims; however, I can say I am more confident from the feel of the ride (such as noting mud slip; where confidence comes from the wide flat bars). So, for my use, these are perfect: I love 'em as part of my very, very awesome Krampus!

Very comfortable and reduces numbness in my fingers
27 May 2021

The wings make the grips easy on the hands. Using regular grips my fingers would start to tingle and go numb after 20-30 minutes of riding. Wearing padded gloves helped to a degree.Switching to the Ergon grips made a significant difference. The wings make a big difference in keeping your hand and forearm in better alignment and provide greater surface area for grip so you don't need to squeeze the grip as much. I still get some slight tingling in my fingers but I can now ride for 1-2 hours before starting to feel any discomfort

few issues with these. firstly they are very skinny which was no good for my hands. secondly they have a thin olastic sheath inside that only locks on one end. so they twist at the far ends when torqued. they should have left some rubber as a contact with the bars if foregoing the bar clamp on one side. thirdly the rubber in the support area is way too soft. extremely soft at the outer edge..which works against its design. i purchased these hoping for a nice palm platform but will not be using them. im going back to my dual clamp lizard skins with a generally thicker size. it gives more support than these. im no chunk but these maybe better for smaller handed riders or children.
