Regarding this tequila, nothing negative to say. Very smooth and easy, as already stated. Very nicely packaged, with a straight label. On the way down, there is just enough heat to keep you interested. If you love a decent tequila, there's no need to freeze, chase, or, in my opinion, waste away in a margarita. I'm no longer interested in Hornitos at this pricing. Similar to 1800 in enjoyment, but lacking the cool shot top. Because I enjoy the bottle, I'll give it five stars. cannot fail. I'm surprised I ever drank Cuervo.

Having spent the last 20 years in Jalisco, attending the yearly Tijuana Tequila Festival, and of course in the US, I have sampled a wide variety of tequilas. In my opinion, Espolon Reposado, which recently received international prizes, is the best option among the tequilas available in the US at the around $25 per 750ML price point for both drinking and mixing. Pueblo Viejo Reposado, which has received international accolades and curiously comes from the only distillery run by a woman, is another fantastic option in the US at this price bracket. Both of these tequilas readily rival ones that are twice as expensive in terms of flavor.

I bought this a week ago for a mixer and to try a 100% agave Tequila neat as well to understand the underlying notes and flavors. When you drink it by itself, there's initially the burn akin to many whiskeys, and a nectar-like sweetness that's otherwise nondescript. Then it was followed by a slightly smoky vegetal taste, and after that was the amazing notes of lÃmon and a gummy-worm type fruitiness that really wowed me. Fantastic on its own and as a mixer for cocktails. Love the artwork too.

Espolon Blanco is my favorite tequila; after experimenting with more expensive varieties, it's the one that let me discover that I genuinely enjoy tequila. The Reposado, however, did absolutely nothing for me. It has a pleasant lime and agave aroma that is very similar to the Blanco's, but with a little more wood and a stronger lime aroma. The flavor is very similar to that of the Blanco, with the exception that the aging has imparted a woody flavor that muddles and confuses the Blanco's clear agave flavor and leaves a strange, unappealing aftertaste. I'm not sure what caused the strange aftertaste, but it is very awful.
The BEST silver tequila you'll ever try is available at a very low cost! Smooth, delectable, perfect, and sharp! This silver tequila creates a delicious "skinny" margarita with acai and blueberries! Bring a bottle to the next event you go to and hear how delicious this tequila is from others. It is popular at all of my gatherings, goes well in my margaritas, and of course, makes a superb shot. Purchase a bottle of this substance. You won't pop out at parties and you'll be poopular!
I love Espolon Blanco - it's the tequila that made me realize I actually like tequila, and one I keep coming back to after trying more expensive alternatives. But the Reposado did not work for me at all.It has a nice aroma of agave and lime - very similar to the Blanco, but with a more pronounced lime aroma and a bit more wood. The flavor is also similar to the Blanco, except the added wood flavor from the aging muddles and confuses the clean agave flavor of the Blanco, and there's a weird, unpleasant aftertaste on the finish. I don't know where the weird aftertaste comes from, but it is deeply unpleasant. I much prefered the clean, focused flavor of the Blanco, and relegated the Reposado to mixing duty only. For a tasty Reposado, I instead recommend El Padrino ... MoreI love Espolon Blanco - it's the tequila that made me realize I actually like tequila, and one I keep coming back to after trying more expensive alternatives. Both have much more aging and wood flavor to make their Reposados stand out from their Blancos, and without the unpleasant aftertaste I found in the Espolon. In summary, Espolon makes a terrific Blanco (my favorite out of what I've tried so far), but for a Reposado I recommend looking at El Padrino or Casa Noble instead.
This tequila is one that I heartily suggest; I only recently started drinking it and immediately fell in love with it. If you want a night to feel nice and go right, this tequila will accomplish it for you. It's smooth and reasonably priced. I often drink other tequilas, but I've been drinking this one exclusively since it's so amazing. It's strong but smooth, which makes it even better.
My preferred beverage is typically tequila, and I always look forward to new bottles. Right now, Espolon has my heart. I like it better than Casamigos. It's ideal for margaritas and shots. It tastes warm and smooth, and it doesn't stay too long on your tongue. I've been purchasing this item for over a year and will keep doing so. The blanco variation is also fantastic!
I bought this based on a bartender's recommendation, and discovered that I actually do like tequila - when it's good tequila. I used to associate tequila with Jose Cuervo and a spirit that I never got on with. I was amazed at how much better Espolon is - at only $4 more.Espolon Blanco has a lovely aroma of agave with hints of citrus, and is very smooth with a slight sweetness and a nice, clean agave flavor. It mixes great, but also makes for a really good sipper. I often drink it neat.Espolon is on the milder side, flavor wise, but I actually like that. I've since tried other, more expensive tequilas - El Padrino, Casa Noble, Patron - and I actually prefer Espolon. If you're looking for something bold, vegetal, and funky, look to the other brands I mentioned. But if you just want something smooth and tasty, definitely give this a try.I also tried Espolon Reposado, but was not a fan - it tasted like the Blanco with a bit more wood and lime flavor and a weird, unpleasant finish. I feel like the Reposado introduced enough wood to muddle and confuse the clean flavor of the Blanco but not enough to give it that woody, smoky character, and I don't know what is with the weird aftertaste. I ended up using it as a mixer (where it worked well). I would stick with the Blanco from Espolon and look to another brand for a Reposado (like El Padrino or Casa Noble).
I bought this on the advice of a bartender and found that, when it's decent tequila, I truly do enjoy it. But give this a try if all you want is something sweet and smoothEspolon Reposado was another drink I tried, but I didn't like for it. It tasted similar to Blanco with a little more lime and wood flavor with an odd, off-putting end. I believe the Reposado introduced just enough wood to muddy and confound the Blanco's crisp flavor.
