Sugar, sugar. I have this sugar as a staple in my cupboard. We use it in coffee/tea, while cooking and in baking. The sugar can easily be blitzed in the food processor to make a finer sugar if needed in baking. It dissolves easily and I found that it didn't clump together once the package was opened (I store mine in an air tight container). The price is exceptional and being Aussie made is an added bonus. The packaging is easy to spot on the shelf and even though it's a little hard to read the "Raw Sugar" writing on the front as it blends in with the yellow and white. I noticed that the packet had a clear sticker on the top. Not sure if that's to reseal the packet after it's been opened but mine lost it's sticky pretty quickly. Overall I will be buying the product again

How Sweet It Is! Thank you for this bunch sample. This is a product of Australia and it's great value. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this over the brand names. It has Bonsucro certification which means they're committed to environmentally and socially responsible sugarcane production. ✔✔Raw sugar has a richer, more caramel sweetness and is delicious in coffee or tea but I avoid adding it only because it's not healthy on a daily basis. As you can see from my photo, I don't mind adding sugar to desserts though Although I usually use different sugars in my baking I decided to use the granular nature of this raw sugar and sprinkle it on top of my Cointreau Marmalade Pudding. Pantry Staple. Very glad to get this sample as I use it all the time in making Kombucha. It is Australian grown, produced and Bonscuro certified. Loved that there was a blurb on the side about Bonscuro. Love that it has a 100% satisfaction guarantee on it. No frills packaging and easy to find. My only gripe is that the writing is quite small and not easy to read if the light isn't good (yes I am near to 50 and have worn glasses for a good number of years). Mind you, once you have been able to read the words on the packaging then you probably don't need to read them anymore. It says it is resealable but it is really just a piece of sticky tape. My was up and had lost a bit of its stickiness. This wasn't a problem for me as I store it in a container. This will remain ... MorePantry Staple. Sugar is Sugar and this is CHEAP GOODNESS! When it comes to raw sugar, does paying more give you better value? Er... no! Does paying less mean you are getting an inferior product? Once again, no. So why are people pay big $$$ for staples that you can easily get without paying for fancy labels and packaging! I have used Woolie Essentials Raw Sugar forever now. I usually buy the 1kg bags so I was very happy with this sample. I do buy the 2kg bag when I can not find the 1kg in stock but my container holds 1. 5kg so the 1kg fits nicely. What does Woolies Raw Sugar taste like? Surprisingly like raw sugar. It is what it is, raw sugar. It does the job. Smells great, tastes great. What more can I say? Price is perfect, budget friendly, anyone can afford it no matter how thrifty you have to be! If you need raw sugar buy Woolies Essentials Raw Sugar, you will not regret it! Well, you might regret it if you indulge too much and your hips start to expand... just saying!

Great value. I also had the 2kg bag as a sample. I’ll be honest, I had no reason to open this additional 1kg bag. I’m using my previous review here. This certainly stands out among the sugar packets. I like the simple packaging. Just clear packaging with a very wide yellow/orange band surrounding the whole packet. There’s an image of a white cup/mug and spoon and the words “raw sugar – product of Australia”. The ingredients – 100% cane sugar. It’s sugar, so the star rating is. 5I do have raw sugar, but no idea what brand. It is probably one of the supermarkets own brands. I had a taste test of both and couldn’t find any difference. I had some tart nectarines which I washed, cut in half and removed the stone. I placed them in a baking paper lined pie plate and I used ... MoreGreat value. I also had the 2kg bag as a sample. I had a taste test of both and couldn’t find any difference. I had some tart nectarines which I washed, cut in half and removed the stone. I placed them in a baking paper lined pie plate and I used about 1 teaspoon of raw sugar on the cut edge of each nectarine and placed them under the grill. I used a low heat to begin with then turned it up and watched them like a hawk. The result is a tender nectarine with a soft, toffy like topping. Add vanilla ice cream and they are a winner. I would definitely buy this, although it may be awhile!

Great value Aussie Product. Great to be given the opportunity to review a home grown Australian product and this product did not disappointOn opening the bag the lovely smell of caramel hits your senses and reminds you that this product is just so much better than the traditional white sugar. 100% Australian cane sugarSupporting our Australian farmers. Great value at only $1. 10 per 1kgUsing Australian raw sugar for baking adds that little bit of extra flavour that is not found when using white sugar. This is a great priced Australian product and will certainly be purchased again. Thanks Bunch for a great product sample

Great baking essential. I found this in the baking aisle with the other sugars. But I do have to say the distinctive yellow on the label made this product easy to find. It's great to see clearly labelled on the front that it says it's a product of Australia. On the back of the pack I did notice the recycle symbol, so I am assuming you can return it to Woolies. But maybe a bit more information on that would be great. There is also in the top corner the Woolies guarantee which is great that it is so prominent on the packaging. My only concern is that once opened you have a small bit of tape to reseal the bag. I had to decant to my own container to save any accidental spills which might invite ants in. I have to be honest. I used it in my apple crumble and some choc chip muffins I baked. I was a little concerned as it is coarser than the sugar I normally use. But I have to say I will now be purchasing this as a baking essential for my cupboard. The muffins I made turned out better than normal and I received high praise from my children. This is one of those times that without the sample from Woolies pushing me to try. This is a product I wouldn't have considered. Thanks Woolies for allowing us to sample.

Can't fault it. This was an easy product to review - it really is hard to go wrong with sugar!100% Aussie sugar (cane sugar). The packaging stated "Bonsucro Certified" which I had to look up to find out that it means "Bonsucro certification demonstrates your commitment to environmentally and socially responsible sugarcane production", so that was good to know. Price was good at $1. 10 for 1kg. The "Resealable Pack" was just one of those stickers on the top. I don't find those particularly effective a resealing, but this didn't bother me as I store my sugar in a reusable container. Tasted like sugar so that wasn't a hard one!Packaging was clear at the top to see the product, which is helpful.

Great value sugar. I use raw sugar all the time for baking, cooking, adding to my tea and for many other uses. I never took notice of this sugar since the packaging isn’t really a stand out compared to its competitors. To me it looks boring and cheap and doesn’t really stand out to me as a quality product. It would also be good if they made the packaging resealable for future use. I always have some left over after filling up my sugar canister and am left to either peg it of place it in another container so it doesn’t go everywhere. A resealable pack would save me from doing this. The raw sugar however is just as good as it’s competitors, it dissolves well, it’s sweet and it’s really no different at all. All Australian product. After several attempts I found this sample in store, the 1kg packet was easy to find in the baking aisle. It came with a resealable sticky piece of tape but the biggest plus is it’s all Australian .. We don’t use a lot of sugar so a family meeting was held to decide what to prepare to do this sample justice. Poached pears won and were dutifully prepared and served tonight with iconic Peters vanilla ice cream then happily consumed. They were not overly sweet, the raw sugar helped colour the pears a lovely sun kissed colour .. What’s not to love, yum. The rest of the sample will be used to make other treats in the coming months.. Thanks Woolworths for the raw sugar sample, greatly appreciated.
