Nice butter. I have purchased this butter on many occasions, it’s got a lovely taste. I use it on toast, when I fry up mushrooms it adds flavour, used it in cakes many times. It’s a very versatile product. Even though it’s salted it’s not overly salted. Great value price wise. Good as any of the more expensive brands. Will continue to purchase this as usual.

Butter is Butter, most of the time. The Woolworths Salted Butter is a decent butter, it really depends on what you use it for. I found it to be really salty, but that is just my personal taste. I usually would buy unsalted butter and add pink sea salt as needed to taste. The Woolworths branded butter is not as fancy tasting or as creamy tasting as the more pricier brands but it is passable, especially to someone who probably doesn't eat or is exposed to what I refer to as real tasting butter. The Woolworths branded butter is a good staple to have for baking but I wouldn't recommend it to be used as a butter as it doesn't really have the best butter taste. Good basic butter. I have a block of this in the fridge all the time. It's a good basic butter for use in cooking - for example frying, in mash, cooking corn etc. However, I don't think it has a very strong butter flavour and prefer to use other name brands where this is important. For example I used this butter in some chocolate chip cookies that I make regularly and I didn't think they had the same buttery flavour that I'm used to. Very well priced for basic butter and I will continue to buy it regularly.

Great butter for baking but a bit I prefer unsalted butter! I buy butter regularly and have bought the Woolworth's brand before but in the unsalted variety. I was not disappointed with this on. I was afraid it was going to be too salty for my taste but it was perfect. It worked well in my mashed potato, on my toast and crumpets (which I used my honey on as well) and in my baking. The spreading consistency is great (as long as you get it out of the fridge early enough!). I like the 500gm size but it is too big for my butter dish. My only real complaint is why is it from New Zealand when we have so many dairy farms here in Australia. We should be using our resources before we start buying from overseas. Glad though that it is all natural, no additives other than salt. ... MoreGreat butter for baking but a bit I prefer unsalted butter! Great for Cooking with Butter. This takes me back to my childhood except I am keeping the butter in my fridge rather than the air cupboard my mother used. I can understand why the butter was kept at a spreadable temperature back then as it was used everyday and with a large family the block of butter went very quickly and did not have a chance to 'spoil'. In 2022 I choose to work with a firmer version straight from the fridge. This is perfect for cooking with butter, especially when cooking mushrooms in a frypan. Not so handy when speading on fresh bread but fine on warm toast as it melts on contact and is easy to spread. The butter is creamy and delicious.

Good butter. I have used this butter for making bechamel Sauce for my lasagna, in baking and on toast to try it a few different ways. I have found that it is a great cheaper option since butter doubled in price a few years ago. Although I normally buy unsalted butter this was lovely and felt a bit luxurious as the flavour was lovely. I was very happy with this and would buy again if I needed a salted butter. Great price, was a bit more oily than other butters, packaging is a bit plain and not very eye catching maybe something a bit brighter would be better but overall a great product.

Easy baking product. My eldest daughter has been trialling this sample with some baking over the last few days - first a self saucing chocolate pudding and then a jelly slice. She said that the butter is very easy to work with - melting nicely and being easy to mix through. She was also particularly impressed with the measurement grid on the side - which makes it so simple to cut the amount needed for the recipe. The end results taste great - but I have to admit to not really noticing much of a difference for unsalted vs salted butter. I might have to research that one a bit more. I like the paper packaging as it is so low on waste and easy to recycle. It's also quite easy to rewrap the unused portion, keeping the remainder fresh. I was a little disappointed to discover that it's not an Australian product - surely we could source this using good ol' Aussie milk?I'd definitely be prepared to use this again, just might need to research first any differences between salted vs unsalted versions.

Average butter from New Zealand. This product is not as good as the usual Australian made product which I normally buy. This particular product is made in New Zealand and cost $2. 80. I don't understand why Woolworths source the butter from New Zealand when there are plenty of great Australian made butter company who can produce a better product. I found the taste is not as good as the others. This was tested with some plain bread and also in a cupcake mixture. The positive are that it is a nice yellow butter and compacted texture with a clean finish. The way the butter is wrapped does not help prevent it from exposure to oxygen. It is recommended that it is stored in an air tight container after opening this will help it from absorbing the fridge odours.

Cooking butter at its best. This block butter is a staple in my fridge and it’s all I use for my ‘buttery’ baking needs. Found in the dairy aisle, the blue paper packaging is plain with no frills but that’s no issue for me. This block is 250g but also comes in a 500g block which I’ve also been known to purchase. Both sizes are in the blue packet which may confuse some shoppers. Alternatively, the unsalted butter is distinguishable in red packaging. I love that the packet has 50g measurements on the side. Once opened, the packet doesn’t reseal, and I find I need to pop it in a snap lock bag to ensure freshness (especially if I’ve chopped off the end of the packet when cutting the butter ) I don’t usually use this as a spreading butter so can’t comment on that, but as ... MoreCooking butter at its best. I prefer salted butter in my baking and I also use it in savoury cooking that needs butter added (like sautéed mushrooms or mashed potatoes. ) It has a mild flavour, melts and creams easily and is the only butter I’d use in bulk. Economical and tastes great, I’d never be without this butter in my fridge.

Will Be Sticking To My Spread. I used Essentials salted butter all the time until it became to expensive and I started using Woolworth's Spread, so I was interested to see and taste what I was missing out on. I thought I would test both by putting the butter and spread on crumpets. The first thing I noticed was that the butter was harder to spread, but once applied, surprisingly the butter melted better than the spread. However, there was little difference in taste. I then tried both on toast and found the same result as with the crumpets. The Essentials butter at $2. 80 for 250 grams compared to the spread at $1. 60 per kg is seven (7) times the price. I was disappointed to see that the butter was a product of New Zealand and also did not like the new shape. The ... MoreWill Be Sticking To My Spread.
