Nice aroma. Found easily in with the other pasta sauces, middle shelf on the end of isle so I didnât need to hunt for it which made a nice change. Priced at $2. 15 for 700g with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives making it very economical for families. I like that the lid pops when you open so you know itâs been sealed well and the lovely aroma of onion, garlic, herbs and spices is very evident but not over powering. The label doesnât state what the herbs and spices are which is disappointing especially if you want to add your own. Perfect to add to any pasta dish with the right consistency to add other ingredients. Such a versatile sauce that can be used in so many dishes from casseroles, spaghetti bolognese or even as a topping for a parmi. Made in ... MoreNice aroma. Made in Australia with 12% of Australian ingredients is rather disappointing when the jar contains 90% of tomatoes. I would rather the label state where the ingredients originate from instead of the Australian percentage. Overall probably not something I would repurchase due to the size of jar as if not all used it needs to be refrigerated and used within two days.

Good Italian Sauce Alternative. I usually buy a brand name sauce for my chicken parmas, pizza base spreads, lasagna sauce, etc. so was happy to try this and compare. It is a little difficult to compare properly when using it like I did today to make lasagna where it's mixed in with lots of other ingredients. However I was happy with our meal and the flavour it imparted. Firstly it was pretty easy to locate on the shelf and is a good price, a tad cheaper than the brand names, whilst still retaining the same quantity of the majority of similar sauces. A big plus is there are no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and both the bottle and cap are recyclable. It's made in Australia which is great but sadly only 12% of the ingredients are Australian, hence one ... MoreGood Italian Sauce Alternative. The sauce itself had a good thickness synonymous of a good quality product - wasn't too runny and/or watery. It created a rich tomato base for my meat sauce, and when cooked with the lasagna sheets, bechamel sauce and cheese, was full of flavour and very tasty. It complimented the whole dish without being too overpowering. I would be happy to buy this again and recommend it to others based on the price, quality and flavour, but would prefer it to be made in Australia.

Great budget pasta sauce. I was very pleased to discover this product when offered as a bunch sample. It is a lovely, fresh tasting, basic pasta sauce at a great price, currently $2. 15 for the 700ml bottle. I love the fact that it is fairly plain as this means you can add whatever other ingredients/flavours you want to it. You can also cook it for as long as you need to get the appropriate intensity of flavour required. I used the sample to make a chicken pasta bake and was really happy to have the extra 200ml, compared to regular jars of pasta sauce, for great coverage of the other ingredients. It comes in a nicely shaped glass jar that can be re-used or recycled, doesn't have a lot of sugar and salt in it, and no artificial ingredients or preservatives. It makes a lovely tasting Bolognese sauce. I was very happy to receive this traditional pasta sauce sample. I added it into my mince meat along with tomato paste, onion and garlic. This pasta sauce lifted the flavour and gave it a nice saucy flavour. Nice and thick consistency, not runny or watery at all and with the added flavours of onion, garlic herbs and spices it gave my bolognese sauce a beautiful flavour. In the past, I have made bolognese with just tomato paste and added in my own here/spice blend but found it lacking in flavour. Once I started using this pasta sauce along with tomato paste, I usually measure it as 500g minced beef, 3/4 cup of tomato paste and then the essentials traditional pasta sauce, we all love it so much there is hardly any leftovers ... MoreIt makes a lovely tasting Bolognese sauce. Perfect Amount of Pasta Sauce and Affordable Too! I have used this pasta sauce several times before receiving it as a sample and the reason I buy it is because it comes as a generous 700g portion rather than the usual 500g. I like to add hidden vegetables to my pasta sauce and I find that the 500g varieties always fall short because once I had my grated vegetables and then a 500g packet of beef mince, the sauce becomes lost and loses that delicious tomato flavour. However, with this pasta sauce, I find that there is plenty of sauce compared to mince and vegetables so it's a winner in our house. My family loves the richness of the tomatoes and the cost is quite affordable too at only $2. 15 a bottle. I also noticed that it comes in a chunky version which we tried a couple of weeks ago but my family agreed that we like this traditional version better. I highly recommend it and I'm happy to say that I'll keep buying it too!
Ok for store bought. For someone who is used to home made tomato passata, I wasnât holding any hope that this product would live up to the fresh, tomatoes that we turn in to sugo. But I was still happy to see how a store bought option would compare. Found it the pasta sauce aisle, on the bottom shelf, this no frills pasta sauce was easy to locate and a very economical purchase. The jar was clearly labelled as a âsauceâ as opposed to a âpassataâ and I could see the herbs that had been used to flavour the sauce through the clear grass bottle. This sauce is very thick, way thicker than I would prefer so I ddid have to water it down. But to be honest, I used this sauce with a plain passata to disguise the clearly âstore boughtâ flavour that didnât quite appeal. I needed ... MoreOk for store bought. Flavourful. I make all our own pasta sauces and we use passata as pizza topping so I was interested to try this. In years gone by I have purchased pasta sauces, name brand varieties and found them to be very rich and acidic. We found this sauce to be very lovely, the herbs were just right, it was not too rich or acidic. We used it as pizza sauce and it was delicious and I used the remainder in a batch of bolognaise sauce and it was great. While it says the Country of Origin is Australia, only 'at least 14%Australian ingredients" The ingredients are Tomatoes (90%) (Puree, Diced), Onion (3%), Sugar, Canola Oil, Salt, Garlic, Herbs and Spices, Acidity Regulators (Acetic Acid, Citric AcidApart from Acetic Acid that is not produced in Australia we produce all the other ... MoreFlavourful. The bottle size is great at 700g and they are fantastic to reuse. Price is fair. Thanks for the chance to try this sample
Full of Flavour and Well Balanced. When I received this I said to myself here we go again with a flavourless pasta sauce like the others that are on the market. I was actually surprised that this was full of flavour, well balanced and went well my homemade gnocchi. At least I didn't have to do anything to it to improve the flavour, just heated and mixed through the gnocchi or you can use any type of pasta. Made in Australia from at least 12% Australian ingredients. This could definitely improve by using more locally sourced ingredients and transparency as to where the ingredients are coming from. All ingredients are natural and contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and has a health star rating of 3. 5 which is pretty good. Overall a great tasting full of flavour pasta sauce that is versatile by using it in pasta, lasagna, cannelloni or even mixed with oven baked chicken which is delicious. Apart from the low Australian ingredients the other thing that needs to improve is the labeling which is dull and boring which doesn't stand out at all. Even though it was easy to find on the shelf it could do with some bright coloured labeling that would take it to the next level and regarding the bottle it's fantastic and easy to open. Also a great price at $2. 15 for a 700g bottle which is very economical. Thanks Bunch for the sample and would definitely buy now and then even though I normally use tinned tomatoes, this would be handy for certain dishes. Highly recommend anyone to give it a go when preparing your next meal.
Great value for money. Made in Australia from at least 12% Australian ingredients. I find this very disappointing. No indication where the other 88% is from? Wow Woolies Wow!! . Man you guys have got your game face on!!! 3. 5 health (maybe halve the sugar could help?)But what a ripper sauce honestly! I opened it and the thick tomatoey (yep its a new word) scent that wafted out blended with the obvious other flavours was the best first Impression ever... we need smello-vision!!! *You can actually see the other ingredients not just smell them. It has enough flavour for a mild palate... me i dialled it up with extra garlic and of course The ratio blend of ingredients is well balanced too of Toms, Onions, , salt, garlic, herbs and spices. Tho I'm not keen on any sugar yet it doesn't have a sweetness about it like other sauces do tho thankfully. âď¸âď¸ *Value for at $2. 15 for 700g... heck yassss, very budget ... MoreWow Woolies Wow!! . My serving suggestion is obviously for pasta bake type based meal, but we actually added it to a lasagne meat sauce to bulk it out as its super thick and rich worked a treat and soooo delishious... we found it way better than tinned It would also be fabulous in a minestrone, vegetable soup base too. ââď¸ ââď¸ I forgot to take a pic of the lasagne... it got devoured before I thought about it sorry!!!
