I have been waiting for years for EL to come back with a great loose powder. I used Lucidity powder daily, and searched everywhere for a replacement after it was discontinued. Since then, I have been using Laura Mercier powder for years. I was SOOOO excited to receive this last week, and have been wearing it ever since. I ordered Translucent Glow, which is exactly what I've been looking for in a setting powder. Natural luminosity - not visible sparkles on my face! The powder is very finely-milled, blends well, and really lasts! Now, the cons - the outer packaging is beautiful, but I really don't like the inner packaging. I prefer using a powder brush, rather than a puff, so I found the inner well/cover thing that holds the puff unnecessary for my use. While not impossible, the package design makes it a little trickier if you prefer to use a brush. My other reason for deducting a star - the price. After a couple of uses, I looked at the jar and noticed how small the powder compartment was. And then I looked (my fault - I typically pay more attention) .31 ounces (or approximately $145 per ounce)!!!! I REALLY love this powder, but ultimately I will have to see how long this jar lasts to determine whether or not I will continue to purchase!

This powder does its job perfectly. It is great to set my makeup without being obvious. It has a tiny blurring effect as well. I prefer this to the more mattifyjng option as I think it brightens my complexion a little. The container has a mesh filter that protects powder from over-distribution and the included powder puff works exceptionally well - it’s a great design. I love this product.

I brought this in the translucent shade with the hope that it would just set the make up with a nice soft glow as explained. First up I always use moisturisers and serums before make up, and usually a sheet mask so my skin is well prepped. I also use primar (again all EL products) so I don't think skin prep is to blame! I've used a variety of application methods, because each product always has a most suitable applicator. However nothing makes a difference! The powder looks very dry and powdery wich is very unflattering especially on fine lines! (I have cool pinkish undertones) I looked an awful lot like my teenage self in the late 90s ... not a good finish! It's an expensive product so I would expect far better results although setting powders are the one EL product that I rarely have any luck with! Packaging is OK pretty to look at but a pain to use (it exploded everywhere, which is a tad depressing when you've spent so much on such a small amount) .... I didn't use much just a little product but the finish was still just dier, (again dry, powdery and an odd coulour) So for the first time ever I'm going to say I do not recomend an Estee lauder product!!!
