I am so confused why everyone else is rating this so high? Maybe I got a defective one, but there are so many issues with ours. 1) the brush never stays on 2) it doesn’t pick up dirt and debri, even with the highest suction. It actually leaves clumps on the ground. 3) in my living room, just a square room with couches against the wall, it does this weird thing where it vacuums in a stair step pattern, only covering the whole width once. 4) it doesn’t go into our dining room even though it’s adjacent to the living room 5) I have restarted it and recalibrated it numerous times to no luck, and 6) I have reached out to the help desk several times with no response.7) the redocking feature does not work… Do not buy this! I was hesitant to buy this but I hate vacuuming and the price was right. I did not expect much, but was happily surprised at what a great job little Henry does. (he seems somehow alive so I had to name him!) We have 2 dogs that shed, and we live in the woods; they bring debris in with their hairy feet. Henry picks up all but the biggest leaves they drag in! I use a broom to sweep the corners and under things where he can't fit (one small piece of furniture), I pick up wires and shoelaces and let Henry go to work. Hard wood floors and area rugs are no problem. Now I never expected it to clean the carpet the way my big vacuum does, and I will run the big vacuum maybe once a week at most. It has been a week, I have run him every day, letting him roam the house at will ... MoreI was hesitant to buy this but I hate vacuuming and the price was right. So let's start with the fact that this is an excellent vacuum for the price... as long as you don't get a dud. What I ordered and received back in October 2019 was mostly excellent but it had one of it's side brushes that just wasn't operating correctly. Because the unit has two and because it was otherwise perfectly functional at that time, I went ahead with using it with one side brush.Fast forward about 8 months and the vacuum starts giving me far too many "roller brush stuck" error messages. Well yes, the one time it tried to eat a cord that was truly the case but every other time it was stopped in the middle of the room. Just stopped. I could put it in reverse and it would start up again and go for awhile longer. Now mind you I would check it, I would clean it ... MoreSo let's start with the fact that this is an excellent vacuum for the price... as long as you don't get a dud. What I ordered and received back in October 2019 was mostly excellent but it had one of it's side brushes that just wasn't operating correctly. I could put it in reverse and it would start up again and go for awhile longer. Now mind you I would check it, I would clean it and I would empty it, and then 15 minutes later it would give the same message.I finally contacted Eufy customer support via chat. After some general back and forth I was asked to check the side brushes and see if one didn't spin easily. Basically my best guess is that everything is tied together enough that the side arm being rough, even without a brush on it, was stopping the entire machine. It had just gotten worse over time to the point it really wasn't usable. They determined that they should send me a replacement unit.BECAUSE though they chat operator was handling several chats at once so the back and forth was a bit long, I didn't notice their request for my mailing address until too late and the chat had timed out. So after a few more issues with chat where it disconnected, I ended up emailing a copy of the chat to their support email address. Now here's where they need to work on their support system. I had the chat, they had agreed to send me a replacement unit, I sent that chat transcript to them and then via email I was told I needed to send video of it malfunctioning. Basically taking me back to square one. I said no, I'm not following the vacuum around the house until it fails. Here's a screen shot of the error message, you can review the chat and decide. They again agreed to send me a replacement but had to have a few extra confirmations via email to get that to process done. From there I did in fact end up with a completely new replacement vacuum. It's brush arms are completely fine and this unit cleans SO much better than the first unit.I think I got a dud on the first vacuum but it just wasn't a complete DOA. Customer service wasn't terrible (I still did in fact get a replacement) but it wasn't ideal customer service either. I have really tried to give people some slack with Covid-19 but Eufy needs to do a review of their systems and processes ... at least when it comes to email when chat gets cut off ... or the chat timing out.Overall I'm really happy with the company and products though especially for one growing out of the Anker brand (I believe all of the Anker Smart home products are branded Eufy including a lineup of apps.)SO THE REAL VERDICT on the vacuum itself:I owned a bobSweep before this and that vacuum could not transition between the hardwood and carpet. THIS vacuum does that with ease. The only thing I miss from the bobSweep is that they had a little UV led light on the bottom that would help sanitize the floor as it went along. On every other level the Eufy is 100x better.Works great on carpet, works great on hard wood, I don't have tile floors to test on.I can't see this standing the test of time ... More moving parts tends to equal more fail rates. The only vacuum cleaner I've ever owned that's lasted a long time is a Shop Vac but that's not automated and has minimal moving parts.I will try and do an update of this review in a year ... or when this new unit kicks the bucket. :)

Great robovac! We named ours “Robby the Robovac.”
29 June 2020

I hesitated for years to pull the trigger on getting a robot vacuum, and I shouldn’t have. If you are on the fence, get one. This thing has been worth the $250 in the first month, alone. (I compare it to a maid service fee.) It automates the simplest but most essential task of cleaning, because most dust and dirt ends up on the floor. It also forced me to finally tidy up all the wires and miscellaneous junk I had laying around on the floor, and thereby also eliminate areas where dust and dirt would accumulate, both of which were unexpected side benefits. It also frees up time to then wet mop and clean other places more easily, and tacitly helps me WANT to follow through with those final stages of cleaning that are easier because it takes care of the most ... MoreI hesitated for years to pull the trigger on getting a robot vacuum, and I shouldn’t have. It also forced me to finally tidy up all the wires and miscellaneous junk I had laying around on the floor, and thereby also eliminate areas where dust and dirt would accumulate, both of which were unexpected side benefits. It also frees up time to then wet mop and clean other places more easily, and tacitly helps me WANT to follow through with those final stages of cleaning that are easier because it takes care of the most time-intensive, initial stage of cleaning. It has been a life changer for us. The first week made the house smell a bit dusty because it kicked up all the latent dust from the corners, under furniture, and in the rugs. But once it got through that stage, the whole house looks and “feels” so much cleaner and smells nicer. Subtle but significant difference.I live in a one-story bungalow with mostly hardwoood or laminate floors, with a low-nap Berber floor covering in my master bedroom. I have a mid-size wire-hair dog who sheds normally, and it is perfect for picking up dog hair. I also have a nine year old son who adds to the dust and dirt. The suction is great on all of our surfaces. It works better than my stand-up “cyclonic” Hoover. Having three suction settings allows you to adjust the noise level depending on how clean you need the suction to be. The side brushes seem trite but definitely do work to help collect and”funnel” dirt into the collection bin. They also hit under furniture legs and walls edges to help collect the dirt that hides there. The collection bin does need to be emptied frequently (every few uses, especially when you first use it), but I look at that as letting me know what would have been on my floor if I didn’t have the unit. It is amazing how much it cleans off the floor even after the first wave of cleaning. The different cleaning modes are also well thought out: edge cleaning, spiral-spot cleaning, and random walk cleaning. I use the edge cleaning mode the most because dust and dirt tend to congregate along the edges.Three downsides that are probably fixed in higher end models. First, getting the app to work was unnecessarily frustrating and difficult because I forgot my exact WiFi password. The problem is that the interface requires you to go through about a five minute process for each “guess,” which made syncing to the app much more frustrating and unnecessarily slower than it should have been. Then with each failed attempt, I also had to also manually reset the entire unit by pressing the power button for 20 seconds. They should program it to test the password quickly so the entire syncing process does not take five minutes until you find out you typed the password incorrectly. (Especially because WiFi passwords are case-sensitive, so it is easy to mistype it). Once I typed the correct password and synced it, the problem was over, but it was frustrating and time consuming.Second, controlling the unit manually through the app is difficult because of the lag time in the signal through WiFi. So any time I manually steer the until, I use the remote and not the app. Not a big deal, but something to note.It is also too loud to schedule vacuuming at night. It woke us up the first three times it ran a scheduled overnight clean, partly because we keep our bedroom doors open at night. We are still on COVID lockdown, so I can’t just schedule it to run during the day while we are at work. So I just run it in the background during the day or when I leave to go to the store or take the dog for a walk.Nonetheless, none of those are dealbreakers, mostly just minor inconveniences that are acceptable at this price point. It still earns its five star rating for fulfilling its primary purpose and then some.

I'm impressed.

This is our first robo vac. I must admit I am impressed with this little guy. We have 4 dogs and 3 cats. So sweeping and vacuuming was a daily chore. We have mostly laminate and area rugs. Eufy does a great job keeping the floors clean. I still vacuum and sweep about once a week or 2. I have friends that have other robovacs. I find that I have less issues with mine. I used my friends the other day and it kept getting stuck, 5 times in 1 session. I've been using mine almost every day since March 14 and it has only gotten stuck 1 time. It has always found its way home, which is under the secretary, although sometimes it takes a bit. It's quieter than a normal vacuum and we can still have normal conversation with it running. I have a couple of skittish animals and they aren't bothered by it. 1 of our dogs is paralyzed and isn't always able to move out of the way. Eufy normally stops and redirects before bumping into her, the few times it has bumped her it was a very gentle tap. I am very pleased with our purchase. It does have a random cleaning pattern to where you think it is missing spots but I have found that if you let it just do its thing it gets everything it can reach.

Needs adult supervision. LOL
30 November 2020

It took me years to talk my husband into this purchase, but it isn’t really everything I had hoped. To be clear, I have very high hopes! It’s probably not a specific function of this brand or model, I had just hoped we’d be further along with cleaning technology (and AI in general) than we are. The robot vac worked perfectly for about a month, but it’s slightly more work than anticipated: it must be completely cleaned (not just the reservoir) after each use, sometimes gets caught up on deep area rugs and on/under some furniture, and really does need adult supervision the whole time it is running. You can be in the next room quietly doing something else, but should be available to assist in times of need. We clean it every time it’s used, and deep clean it often. The seemingly random pattern takes forever, is easily bumped off the charger, and sometimes runs out of battery before the floor is all clean. Only running it one large room at a time helps! For example, our cleaning schedule is the kitchen and dining room on Monday, great room on Wednesday, and the other 3-5 small rooms on Friday. It will beep every 5-10 minutes and shut itself off if there’s a problem, so it tries to let you know. Customer service has been phenomenal. Overall, I am glad we have it. I can definitely do other things while it runs in another room, which is a step in the right direction!

Poor product quality and poor customer service
11 August 2023

We are extremely disappointed in the quality and customer service with our Eufy RoboVac 15C Max. Our first Eufy RoboVac 15C Max only lasted 9 months before it stopped working. The company replaced our vacuum since it was within its 1-year warranty. Unfortunately, the replacement they gave us only lasted 9 months as well before it stopped working. I was disappointed to learn that Eufy’s warranty on a replacement is only 3 months. If the company truly believes they are giving you a high-quality replacement, why would they not back the replacement with a 1 year warranty as well? In terms of talking with customer service to try to resolve this issue, it did appear that I was only talking with a robot. The advice given to me by the customer service person/robot only made the problem worse – my robovac started erroring out quicker than it did before I followed the directions given to me by Eufy. The only other thing that I was offered, other than the advice that made the problem worse, was a 10% discount to purchase another vacuum. For the price you pay for the Eufy RoboVac 15C Max, I would hope that it would last longer than 9 months, however, due to its poor quality it does not appear like your robovac will last you very long. I would highly recommend that you stay away from any Eufy product due to their poor product quality and poor customer service.

WiFi Set Up was Difficult for Me
3 April 2021

I have an iPhone 12, an iPad Pro (1stGen) and an iPad Air (older but not sure which generation). I tried at least a dozen times to connect the Eufy to our network with my phone including going into Airplane mode after seeing someone online say to try that. Never worked. Then I tried the iPad Pro because it is pretty old and someone had luck using an older device. Nope...but had to use airplane mode or could not proceed only to fail in the end. Finally, I tried the iPad Air in airplane mode and succeeded on the first attempt!!! Once connected via the iPad Air, I checked the app on the other two devices and it's there and works. Also had no problem setting up the Alexa skill and having her find the Eufy. Not at all happy I had to spend hours trying to get this ... MoreI have an iPhone 12, an iPad Pro (1stGen) and an iPad Air (older but not sure which generation). Not at all happy I had to spend hours trying to get this connected to our network. The error message suggested that our router might be incompatible, but I have a number of 2.4gH devices connected and that happened automatically. Resetting did nothing, and nothing in the app or on the Eufy website suggested it could be the device I was using with the app. It should not be this difficult, and I'm sure some people just give up and return the vacuum. The help should suggest trying to use a different device to connect to the network if you fail on the first couple of trys. (On the other hand, don't even get me started about the Ecovacs mapping function! I decided to stay away from any device offering to map based on my experience with the Deebot ozmo T8.)Now why did I buy this thing? We have been using Ecovacs Deebots for a few years and have been generally happy. The first 2 we bought died within a year but were replaced at no cost to us. One of those started making a really loud noise. After searching the internet, I concluded the motor needed to be cleaned. When I opened the robot there was an incredible amount of dust and fuzz inside it. I cleaned the motor, reinstalled it and closed everything up and it still made the noise. This meant a new motor. While that would have been far less money than buying a new robot, one of the 2 mounts for the motor in the Deebot was broken. That suggested a new motor might not solve the problem or it might only be a temporary fix. Our daughter has had a Eufy for some time and has been very happy with it. Coupled with the positive reviews on Amazon and the fact that this model has more suction power (we have 3 cats), I decided to go for this one. It's build is very similar to the Deebot--brush roller and 2 side brushes--so I'm assuming it will do as good or a better job than the Deebot it is replacing.

You don't have to spend a tone of money to get a quality robot vacuum

So I will say up front I resisted buying a robotic vacuum for years thinking they were either for the lazy or pretentious among us. We are a military family just relocated to Hawaii and we moved into a very large historical home with tile floors. I started to sweep one time, dropped the broom and immediately began shopping for a robotic vacuum. After doing my homework and reading consumer reports and reviews, I landed on this vacuum based on the features and price point. It is not perfect by any means but this was absolutely a worthwhile purchase! Eufy has an app that allows you to schedule cleaning times or to control the vacuum manually. I set the schedule to have the vacuum clean in the morning and then I will often manually send it on a second run in the evening ... MoreSo I will say up front I resisted buying a robotic vacuum for years thinking they were either for the lazy or pretentious among us. After doing my homework and reading consumer reports and reviews, I landed on this vacuum based on the features and price point. It is not perfect by any means but this was absolutely a worthwhile purchase! Eufy has an app that allows you to schedule cleaning times or to control the vacuum manually. I set the schedule to have the vacuum clean in the morning and then I will often manually send it on a second run in the evening (would be nice if the app allowed you to schedule more than 1 cleaning a day but first world problems I guess). We keep a clean house but this vacuum manages to come back with a full dirt tray every trip, to the point where you start question if you're simply just a gross person. It does have limitations though. Unlike other higher end vacuums that are able to map out a floorplan Eufy goes off to work in a completely random and haphazard manner. Somehow it does manage to cover quite a bit of territory but don't expect it to hit 100% of the house every trip. Also, it seems to get stuck on the stupidest things. Mine stubbornly goes under my wife's desk at every opportunity and can never get back out. We ended up blocking off the area so no harm. Also, a curse and a blessing, you have to make sure you keep everything off the floor because Eufy will always find a way to make you pay if you forget. This includes chargers, clothes, curtains, rubber bands and so on.Bottom line, I think this was a great purchase and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great value or a lower cost way of seeing whether or not a robotic vacuum is for you. Good luck with your hunt!
