My drum kit is not the best out there but works just fine for me. I have the Ludwig 9pc. Rockers that I picked up in the late 80's. I have written another review about these but forgot to mention that I purchased the "Clear" heads. I got the Evans G1's for the Reso's and the G2's for the batter. They can sure pack a punch when hit hard. I had to tone it down some with Remo dampening rings which really don't affect the quality of the sound. I should also mention that my toms are a little deeper than normal, and Ludwig calls that "Power Plus" such as my 13" tom is 12" deep. I had Remo pinstripes as batter and the OEM Ludwig heavy heads as the reso's so this is quite a step up from there. I am happy with the heads and will purchase them again if I need to. The reason I got the Fusion Pack (whatever fusion is) is because I have those sizes in my kit. Back in the day, I am 59 years old, the selection you had for drums were Ludwig, Slingerland, Gretch, and Rogers. Today I am guessing that DW is the best.

Fantastic sounding heads at a great price. The Level 360 means when you turn it, the head lays nice & flat all the way around. I also changed the bottoms of the toms with a set of Evans G1 Clear Heads. They really improved the sound of my kit.

I bought these clear Evans 360 G2s and a matching set of the coated version to try on my late 1990s 5-piece Tama RockStar (not the RockStar Pro). The old tom batter heads were worn and had an off-color decay resonance, so I thought I'd try the clear heads first, then the coated ones if less resonance was needed. After re-torquing all the tension lugs and re-tuning the original resonant heads, I installed the Evans 360 clear batters. What a difference! While this kit is good, is it definitely not one of Tama's top-of-the-line offerings...but it sounded like one after these heads were installed. Great tone with full resonance and super clean decay. I will try the Evans G2 coated heads in the future, but for now the clear ones are just what the doctor ordered. If you have a starter to middle-of the-road kit and are disappointed with the sound of the toms, tune the batter & resonant heads properly, make sure your hoops and bearing edges are clean and the tension lug screws are tight. If that doesn't do it, throw on a set of Evans G2 batters. In pack form, these are a TREMENDOUS bang for the buck and can awaken a kit from the dead.

Sound:I put these G2's on my live kit. I've used Evans heads before so the great quality from this company didn't surprise me. I tried this particular series because of price and I really just wanted to see how they sounded. I play mainly rock, but our band covers a vast variety of different types of music live. That being said for this kit I needed something semi-versatile, but dark enough to deliver the good rock tones I look for out of toms. So far these heads haven't let me down. They have reasonably good sustain so they sound great whether dampened or open to ring (when tuned correctly of course). You can use these heads for about any style of music depending how you play. I have them on a rather in-expensive kit and they make it sound like I paid 5-6 times as much for it as I did. I recommend picking up some moon gels with your order, this is the first time I used them and they can really help you further shape your tones to achieve the sounds you want. And if you play different types of music, they make it possible to change tones from song to song or set to set. These heads are everything I'd expect from Evans! I use about 3 different brands depending on what sound I'm trying to achieve and Evans have never let me down.Quality:These heads are beautiful, you can tell they're made well. With drum heads for a live kit (if you're serious about what you do) you should ALWAYS keep back up heads. These heads would definitely make it on the road. During my last gig I intentionally put them through hell just to test their durability v/s the hydraulics (my usual pick) they held up beautifully on all categories I test them on. Tone, durability, and even cosmetic blemishing due to stick strikes. The only bad thing about these heads (and it's not even bad) is they're not hydraulic. They seem like they'll last (depending on frequency of use) long enough to be worth the purchase. I'll write an update review later if possible.Value:Very competitive pricing.Manufacturer Support:Dunno, Haven't ever had to use their support...The Wow Factor:It's a practical addition at a decent price. Like I said I usually use hydraulics but I wanted to try these to compare the differences.Overall:As said before these heads are of great quality, competitive pricing, and seem like they'll last long enough to achieve their purpose.
Pro'sTone - Durablity- AttatckCon's(Only if you are careless or lazy)Must be tuned properly and maintainedGreat Value expecially for the considering the custom type sizing. Very happyI am very picky about head selection and i don't know of a better drum head for Hard rock drummers who expect a good balanced drumhead with little compromise. However, not recomended for those who don't tune their drums properly. Sounds like ASX Those types are better off with something less tonal. Try Evans Hydrolic oil heads or similier..Durable enough for heavy hitters who are willing to change them out..but not so much if you like to keep em on forever.Great Value EXPECIALLY given the special size options
Sound:I recently purchased an older set of Pearl Session drums and needed to replace the batter heads. These heads seated on the drums perfectly and made the drums sound fat and big. And, I am able to get the low, funky tuning that I was going for. Perfect heads for toms!Features:No accessories needed.Ease of Use:Great tuning range, and seated quickly.Quality:I think that Evans products are of very high quality.Value:This is an excellent value!Manufacturer Support:Did not need to deal with the company. The Wow Factor:This is a practical edition.Overall:When I replace them it will be with more clear G2s.
Great value Tom pack, (actually slightly cheaper than I could get it through a trade supplier!)These sound great, last well and are pretty much the standard choice for Tom heads.
The G2's are my go-to heads for all my toms. The Clear has more attack and nice focus for louder, high energy stuff. The Coated has less attack for quieter more subdued gigs and recording. Right now Evans just rules with a huge lineup of heads that work for any drum, any style, any gig.
Although these may not seem designed for resonant use I can tell you they are my favourite. They are a very resonant drum head with beautiful tone but controlled ring that is easy to control. I use these in combination with a Remo Pinstripe Batter head on a Gretsch Maple Renown- a fabulous combination that always attracts high praise. Highly reccomended
I have used G2 clear head for at least 10 years in the studio and on the road. The new level 360 is a considerable upgrade in technology. The new sound edge is most helpful on my wrap finished kit because standard heads always fit it tighter. This new sound edge is great for vintage kits before manufacturers started to make "undersized" shells.
