Everlast Nevatear 4ft Heavy Bag

My husband has been studying martial arts since he was little - think Karate Kid, old school style training. His mom also is a former boxer, and trained for the Olympics. When he punches, there is a significant amount of force behind it. This punching bag has held up perfectly fine for over a year now with daily use. I would definitely recommend it!

Best Deal On A 80LB Heavy Bag

I've owned this bag for 2 years. My youngest son started martial arts and since he weighs under 140lbs I purchased the Everlast 80Lb never tear. In the past I have owned a leather 100LB Everlast. If you're under 175LBs an 80 pound heavy bag is better for most than a 100 LB. All in all the synthetic bag and the filling has more than exceeded my expectations.

Broken/ perished strap after 12 months

My boys love this bag. Very heavy and not much swing when punching or kicking. Unfortunately after just 12 months the canvas strap that holds the bag up at the top tore. Shortly after, the second strap tore from bearing the weight. We now have a very heavy boxing bag laying on our outdoor couch that is not useable.If I purchase again, I will look for better stitching at the top strap areas

Don’t be swayed by all the negative reviews regarding shipping issues with this product. I bought this from the local Dick’s store so I could check out the quality and also to avoid having any delivery issues with missing boxes. (I will say that even the local employees had trouble making sure both boxes were together when purchased so Dick’s needs to fix this issue.)For someone looking for recreational use to mix up workouts in winter weather during COVID, this combo set is a home run and great value. Bag feels great and when not hooked, the stand can be moved around to the ideal location.The one thing multiple reviews pointed out is that if you are putting in work, you will want to put some plates on to help weight the system down. Even with light use you can feel the stand move a bit when hitting the heavy bag. I had some 35 pound plates and makes a big difference.Overall, I couldn’t be happier with this purchase, if quality holds up it will have been a home run purchase. If you have a Dick’s local, go in and check it out if you are still on the fence. And maybe contact Dick’s if you are purchasing online to make sure you get both boxes delivered with no issues.

Great workout

I am loving this bag. The quality is great. It is very well made, durable and has held up well to daily use. The weight is also great and perfect for beginners or the more advanced. I am a beginner again, and this bag has worked extremely well for me. I also really appreciate that it comes with the hardware to install.

Misleading picture!!! No stand included.

I bought this for my son who wanted a punching bag for his birthday or Christmas (both in December). We specifically picked this one as I thought it came with the stand. Silly me for not reading the details, but when you look at every other picture of other punching bags, you see just a picture of the bag. So why does this have a picture WITH the stand as the default picture. 2 days before his birthday and I will go ahead and say this, I would have not paid that much for this. The whole purpose of spending this much was because I thought the stand was included and I wanted to be able to move the punching bag to different places if need be. For example, outside, inside, grandmas. Etc. Yes I should’ve read it, and I normally always would, but again..... when I’m looking at all the heavy punching bags on the academy web site this is the only one shown on a stand. If it’s just a bag then advertise that just as all the others. Don’t get me wrong, this is I’m sure a nice quality punching bag. I will probably return it though. I would have bought the stand before had I known then and I would have picked a different, much lighter bag. Sucks because adcademy is almost 2 hours away so not a simple return plus too heavy. I overnighted this on a Friday, and got it on Wednesday. That’s 2 business days... not overnight shipping.

Not too durable for outdoor use

Having spent years in Thailand training in Muay Thai, and predominantly training outside, this bag lasted barely six months before the nylon strapping disintegrated. Granted, exposure to the sun would hasten this, and, then again, in Thailand, we use bags with chains instead of nylon strapping. Also, as mentioned by others, the hardware, though adequate, appears to be a bit weak for this weight and use. Could not give a longer term observation of durability because of its deconstruction. A more conventional construction with chains and without the strapping would no doubt yield a much better product.

Quality bag and great service

Purchased the Everlast boxing bag as a gift for christmas, after not being able to find the combo deal anywhere. I rang the store at Tweed Heads and they were very helpful confirming they had stock, giving me details about the bag and directing me to click and collect. The Everlast Nevatear bag is ideal for my son, who is just taking up boxing. It is ideal in firmess, quality made and great length for his purposes

Sturdy

A very good punching bag (100lbs), especially for the price. I have been using it for around 3.5 months now and it is still in good condition. I am currently using the Everlast heavy bag stand and it is very sturdy and does not shake (if it does, simply add on weights like sandbags or metal plates).There is a little bit of settling, which means that overtime the content inside will slowly start to be harder and heavier on the bottom, but it isn't very significant.Overall would recommend for beginners and/or intermediate boxers trying to get fit or to vent all the anger and sadness out.
