Bit of a change from hanging bag

I’ve always had everlast gear. Had heavy bags and frames from them for years. Wanted to take up less space as well as get more height.Few considerations:- it’s 195cm at least, which is much more useful than a 180cm hanging bag frame at my height (195cm)- it’s much wider than a hanging bag which takes some getting used to- the base is very stable but it’s huge and makes it difficult to do close body work- easy to assemble, bit fiddly but fine- technique has had to adapt to the extra distance and responsiveness of the bag. It’s like a cross between a heavy bag and focus mittsHope this helps, so far it’s been great.

Easy to assemble and fill using water as long as you get a large funnel and plastic watering pourer with measurements like I did from bunnings. I found about 50 litres equaling about 50kg either side was enough to keep the base stable, however no more or you will not be able to shuffle it from its location. It is ok for light to medium kicks and punches, however it has a caution not to exceed 30 degrees or it may cause damage and void warranty. Ok for light jabs and combos for a cardio workout. Was thinking of buying it pre coronavirus when it was 25percent off but erred and paid full price as stock ran out Australia wide. $700 full price a bit pricey but no choice. Suits it's purpose to gyms reopen if safe to do so.

Bought this for our son for Xmas he absolutely loves it. It is well made, strong, sturdy and well protected ie no metal material exposed. The foam is long about 1.7m so no problems doing low or high kicks. When doing jabs and punches it has enough give ie flexes backwards enough that you’re not taking the full force of the punch which can cause shoulder/wrist injuries. I enjoy boxing myself so tried it and it’s great. Bit on the expensive side but you get what you pay for...even better when you can get it on sale which is what we did!Just be mindful that it is nearly 2m tall including the base so make sure you have enough room to place it.

Great bag with some minor glitches
5 October 2021

This free-standing bag is great. It has a good feel for hitting and seems very solidly made.I filled the base with water and by and large it stays put on a concrete floor but there is a bit of slippage which is annoying as the whole thing is very difficult to move back to where it should be due to its weight and base that is difficult to get any purchase on.I should have set it on a non-slip mat before filling it and putting it all together and it would have been good had this been recommended in the installation information. At some point i will have to empty it and do this. The other issue is the size of the base which makes it a bit difficult to practice close body shots. But all up the bag is terrific and I would buy it again.

Great for cardio/cross training
14 October 2021

Great for what I use it for (Cardio/boxing/kickboxing). Got a bit of give/sway, (working as intended) seems robust. Base wont move at all, I am 6 ft/110kg and give it a bit of a wallop, but it hasn't budged. That is with just water being used. If you are going to cross train, I recommend finger less boxing gloves, allows you to do pushups or some light weights in a circuit. If you wanted something firmer that doesn't sway as much with a punch, you may need a hanging bag. Hard to comment or how durable it is. 4 star given as the bag does rise up with kicks and you need to push it back down.

I can now punch above my weight
2 August 2020

This punching bag allows me to be in competition with myself more than ever. It rebounds back just as much as I hit it, which certainly wasn't the case with my boxing coach. It's easy to setup, I can have the whole 360 degree experience putting it in the middle of my apartment to work on my footwork and combos. Not to have a jab, but the instructions to fill it with a spade I wouldn't recommend, water is my preferred weight for the base. I'd also recommend pairing this product with high quality boxing gloves for the ultimate experience.

Smashing!
25 January 2022

After some online and in-store research we bought this particular Everlast bag for both boxing and Taekwondo practice at home. There's no doubt - it's huge and can take quite a beating. We have this set up on carpet so it doesn't move and we filled the base (split base - there are two parts) very SLOWLY with water from a hose - I can't imagine how painful it would be to fill this with sand - so I recommend water. The staff at Rebel (in particular Elliot from the Melville store) went the extra mile to help us with both price and delivery - we are super happy with Rebel and the bag.Highly recommended Rebel and this Everlast product!

Solid equipment
10 January 2022

The punchbag is solid and with the base full of water and it isnt easy to move. I am 100kgs so can confirm the base doesnt move around when you hit it although the bag will move 15 degrees or so, which is is totally meant to do. I did add a non slip mat underneath when I assembled it though, based on comments I read on here. I have been using it most days for around 3 weeks thus far and abolsutely no issues and apart from not moving, the actual bag seems to be very durable and hard wearing and well worth the money.

Very stable and functional portable bag.
29 December 2021

I bought this for my son and me. Great bag. A lot more stable than expected. im 90kgs and putting my weight behind punches it springs back nicely. It is very easy to set up. Taking the water out is a pain though, would really benefit from a drain on the bottom which I would expect at this price point.

Worth Every Penny!
22 June 2020

Worth every penny! I bought this 4 months ago and I love it. Its strong, sturdy and can handle a punch. I bought sand to fill up the bottom but realised quickly it was not going to work so filled up with water and about a litre of vinegar to stop mold forming and was surprised of how much water it takes but sooooo much easier than sand. I have mine in the garage so it is protected from the elements and is easy to disassemble which i have done as i'm moving soon. There is nothing i have found as an issue so 5 stars from me. I did buy on special which was a bonus.
