Ewan the Dream Sheep is a simple and effective sleep aid designed to help restless babies and toddlers fall asleep and achieve peaceful slumber. The adorable cuddly sheep Ewan can be securely attached to a crib or placed in a bassinet. When activated, it emits sounds reminiscent of a mother's womb, including a heartbeat and harp melodies. These comforting sounds have been proven to soothe even the most restless newborns on their challenging journey from the womb to the outside world. There's more: Ewan offers three additional pink noise combinations—similar to white noise but much more effective—suitable for older babies and toddlers, making the sheep a helpful companion for sleep rituals well into preschool age! Ewan loves to travel. To ensure your child can stay calm on the go, Ewan can be attached to a stroller or car seat, eliminating the risk of forgetting it somewhere. A pacifier or teething ring can be securely attached to its handy tail. Thanks to its soft, soothing pink glow, Ewan also functions as a nightlight. Therefore, no additional nightlight is needed; its calming, gentle light is part of its charm! Requires 3x AAA batteries (not included).

Second teatime I've bought Ewan. Worked a treat for my first grandson who's now five and still has it on his bed. This one is for his new wee brother or sister arriving in June.

My daughter has twins and had read reviews. She did not believe this would work. However, she has been AMAZED. This really works and after. Very short while, either/or both drift off. We now have one at our house for when they visit. They are 4 months old now and are more alert. When we switch it on they tend to watch the red light and listen to the music . It calms them and then they drift off. We have bought one for a new mum to be as we all feel it is indispensable.

I purchased this for my daughter to use with her newborn little girl. It was not the cheapest product to buy and we did quite a bit of research before we purchased. However, despite several people saying it worked for them this was for us an unnecessary purchase as it did nothing to soothe my granddaughter at night. Apart from anything else it is extremely quiet and difficult to hear. I think it will be one of those purchases that sits around doing nothing until we can either sell it or it gets donated to charity later down the line. A bit of a gimmick in my honest opinion and not worth the money.

Purchased for my grandson to have one for my home when he sleeps over. Great quality. Sounds are wonderful womb sounds, light. The white noise sound gets me to sleep too which is a bonus because I suffer with nerve, joint pains.
Effective. This has since become my go-to for baby gifts. I first bought this on the birth of my grandson. It got packed away eventually during a move and re-emerged when he was around 3yrs- his excitement! He’s now 4yrs and still using it, day naps included. By 3yrs he was old enough to operate himself for his needs. His two year old sister wanted it for herself when it re-emerged! Bought another one my niece at birth, they also raved how great it was. And I’m now about to buy another for a friend. Batteries last well, mainly using the cheaper Bunnings ones. Not sure what the other review is about with batteries not lasting.. perhaps she uses it on the loud setting and drains the batteries more ?, I don’t know, but my daughter has only ever used it on the low ... MoreEffective. Brought this product after moving into a new home and our baby 7 months old at the time was very unsettled in the new house and was recommended Ewan the sheep by quite a few friends. Well it worked brilliant, he has become her little sleep buddy, when she goes down into her cot every night she looks around for him till I turn him on and settles her to sleep. If she wakes in the night I can go and put Ewan back on and she will drift back off to sleep again. It's very handy that it plays for 20 minutes then turns itself off so don't have to get back up in the night to turn it off. Very good product, would definitely recommend as a bedtime buddy for babies
Every person has their own personal likes and dislikes and I believe this extends to newborns too. In my case, my daughter decided she doesn't like Ewan the Sheep; his presence causes her to be upset and the lights and sounds makes the situation worse. On the other hand, I believe this is a well made product that could work for other babies. It takes 3x AAA batteries and has toggles to adjust music volume and the light. For a product like Ewan, whose usefulness is decided by the baby, it is unfortunate that the packaging is designed in a way that it has to be damaged before the toy can be used as it makes it hard to return and resell.
My daughter loved her 'Sheepy' and it so helped her sleep and she found it a real comfort. We bought it for her when she was 13 months old to help her sleep in her own room. After having it a month or so she enjoyed opening up the velcro and pulling out the battery setting box, a few months later she started pulling out the wires so the light stopped working, few months after that she ripped out the inner lining and started pulling out he sheep's inner fluff and now after having it for 11 months she's finally killed the poor thing and ripped the wires right out of the setting box so we've had to take it away. She is distraught and goodness knows how she's going to sleep now without it. Loathed to buy another one at £29.00 a pop for something that is of such poor ... MoreMy daughter loved her 'Sheepy' and it so helped her sleep and she found it a real comfort. Spoke to JL customer service and they up this down to 'accidental damage' - umm!
I bought Ewan out of desperation when my three month old (at the time) wouldn't sleep on his own, to try and establish a sleep routine in his own cot. The dream sheep has 4 different sounds (womb, vacuum, music and hairdryer), and you can adjust the timings to 'try me' (lasts for ~ 10 mins) or longer (20 mins). You can also adjust the volume and have the light on or off. The sounds do seem to calm my baby, or at least signal to him that it's nap time/bed time, as part of a sleep routine when used consistently. He tends to stare at it as he drifts off. It has Velcro on the tail so you can attach to the cot/pram/car seat, etc. HOWEVER. This thing eats through batteries!! They seem to last about a week or two, despite only using the sheep once a day at bed time. They seem to last about a week or two, despite only using the sheep once a day at bed time. The time that the sounds last seems to decrease over time, eventually lasting only 5 seconds or so until you replace the batteries yet again. Not great for the considerable price! I've stopped using it already. If you want something to play white noise for long periods of time, e.g. a colicky baby or for serious sleep training, I wouldn't really recommend.
After reading all the reviews and hearing rave reviews about Ewan, I bought him after struggling for 6 weeks to get our daughter to nap. He is lovely but the 20 minutes of music/noise is just not long enough so he has been taken off the cot and a white noise album purchased instead for a third of the price. I was going upstairs every 15 minutes to re-press the button in the attempt to get our daughter to sleep longer. Really expensive I think but this product would be great if the noise duration was much longer.
