The Exo Terra Glass Terrarium is the ideal reptile or amphibian housing designed by European herpetologists. The front opening doors allow easy access for maintenance and feeding. A specially designed lock will prevent escape and the doors can be opened separately. Perfect for my baby crested gecko. There's two holes at the bottom meant to run wires through, I guess for if you're pet needs a heating pad, filter, or something. I just covered the bottom in soil so my crestie couldn't get in there. The top has a small gap between the lid and background and my gecko fits there and likes to snuggle up in it to sleep. This tank is too small for when it's an adult, so I know I'll have to upgrade in a few months. I love it for now though.

These cages work well for something like a single redback salamander, or small invertebrates like smaller roaches, scorpions, mantids, katydids and tarantulas. Certain pill millipedes or smaller normal millipedes work for this too. It can also temporarily house newly transformed froglets and even a fresh pair of newt efts.

In the bottom vent (the black strip you see under the glass doors) there are tiny holes INSIDE of the terrarium. My baby crested got his toes or foot caught in one of them and was dangling helplessly. Luckily I was there to give him a hand (pun intended). He definitely does not like being picked up anymore. I don't blame him. Terrible design flaw.

Great enclose for arboreal tarantulas!! I bought these enclosures to house my juvenile/adult arboreal tarantulas and they are perfect!! Plenty of room, great ventilation and secure lock. Depending on the size of fully grown adult, this could be a permanent enclosure. If larger than around 6-7 inches, an upgrade to the small/tall would be ideal. This enclosure is easy to clean, decent construction and most importantly secure. Highly recommended for most arboreal tarantulas. I would not recommend this enclosure for versicolor tarantulas as they need cross ventilation. This enclosure is highly recommended.
Great looking. Wish you could remove back for full viewing. I’m using for a Tarantula, not a reptile. Also the front lock is fairly secure, except for maybe a Tarantula. There is a hole for a lock to secure it and I have. Would recommend tarantula owners do the same, or risk an escape!
I bought 3 of these to rehouse my insects. I have a Blue death feigning beetle, a juvenile vinegaroon, and a pair of hissing roaches and the nano wide is more than roomy enough for each critter. I love the way the door latches on these so I don't have to worry about escapes. The backgrounds are also extra climbs for them. These were my first purchases of nice tanks for my critters (used critter keepers before) and I am very impressed with them. I do plan on by 2 more bigger ones to house my tarantula and scorpion when they outgrow their current tanks. The only downside is I wish they made different tops because it is hard to keep humidity in with a fully open screen top. Very well built terrariums. Latching door to keep animal secure. Molding is nice to prevent breaking glass. Maintains humidity well without mold. Easy to use lights on. Nice growing tank for small geckos.
Exactly what I was looking for! It’s a very small enclosure, perfect for what I needed. I removed the foam backdrop, it’d be too easy for flies to get stuck behind there. It comes out super easily. I can see this being a great enclosure for adult jumping spiders too.
Habitat is great for our small gecko. She likes to climb/relax on the textured back wall; the habitat is just large enough for a hanging vine and a small hide on the floor. We'll need to upgrade to a larger one when she grows, but I knew that going in.As the other review points out, there is no included hood. I don't feel like that was an accurate review of the product, just disappointment in the ad's inclusion of the hood in the photo. For cresties, who have no special needs of light or heat, the hood is IMO an unecessary addition. If you've got a critter that needs heat bulb or a UVB bulb, you'll need to make purchases beyond this tank.
I love this terrarium but the photo is misleading. It shows the terrarium with a hood and as far as i can see in the description it doesnt say the hood is sold separately. It doesnt come with the hood. Other than that its perfect and would receive 5 stars. I just cant give 5 stars due to the misleading nature of the photo.
