Exped Megamat Lite 12 Sleeping mat (LW, red) - Whether you sleep in a camper van or a tent, the Megamat Lite 12 from Exped is a reliable, comfortable all-rounder! The material is also hydrolysis-resistant, which means it does not allow moisture to get inside, where bacteria can then develop. The mat is insulated with Texpedloft, a synthetic material that provides optimal warmth and insulates against the cold of the ground. The innovative 3D design with flat support makes the most of every inch of the mat as it is flat all the way to the edges. Meanwhile, the brushed outer fabric feels comfortable against the skin. The mat can be inflated quickly and easily with the included Schnozzle Pumpbag UL. It also serves as a waterproof pack sack. The large flat valve lets air out quickly. Despite its comfortable thickness, the Megamat Lite 12 is a lightweight companion for camping or trekking!

I have been in the market for a good sleeping pad for awhile. I was tired of my last pad that was just too thin and uncomfortable. I finally splurged with a sale, and go the Exped MegaMat Lite. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. First of all, I love the way to inflate. I much prefer to use the bag device than try and blow it up with my own breath. Additionally, the long extra-wide allows my dog to sleep with me. The fabric has been holding up great with both myself and the pup. It's definitely worth it for car camping, and I will be taking it as my luxury item when backpacking.

Bought this during sale in early April, juts spent five nights in Oregon camped out, this thing was fantastic. It's not cheap, but so far I am super impressed. Temps ranged from high 40s to high 20s, stayed extremely warm and comfortable throughout. IThe included sack pump works great, if you fill it right then mattress should inflate with two full-sack pumps. This is small for what it is.... for minimalists, might be a little big but I think I would take it no matter what for the comfort. A good night's sleep is everything, especially for someone with a sometimes-wonky backCan't speak to durability as informed as I'd like to be just yet, but this is a top-quality product that I think will last years.

After a hard day of backpacking thorough the night, setting this awesome and comfortable sleeping pad up felt very rewarding. It was a cold night but this sleeping pad stayed warm and comfortable and it did not cause me any problems. Do yourself a favor and pick up a mini pump to help blow this up. One night I did not have the pump available and it sucked a bit blowing this up with the bag but it got me by. (I have the Exped pump which doubles up as as night light and usb charger). I used this in a marmot tungsten 1p tent and it filled up the tent. It was perfect for my 4 days in the wilderness!

Very comfortable, second only to it's heavier big brother (the megamat), but easy and quick to inflate, deflate and pack away, and, at a push, small and light enough to use when on the move. In short, probably the most comfortable option that's still viable for backpacking/wild camping. I am 45, overweight (98k), and have a back condition (ankylosing spondylitis), and need some serious depth and support - but am otherwise fit and strong enough to carry a mat this heavy (not all would want to). With this, I can backpack or wild camp and wake up fresh, which wasn't possible with earlier generations of mat - either too thin/soft, or too big/heavy. Also, the quality is great, flat valves will likely last well, fabric will not puncture easily but is soft and comfortable ... MoreVery comfortable, second only to it's heavier big brother (the megamat), but easy and quick to inflate, deflate and pack away, and, at a push, small and light enough to use when on the move. In short, this is the dobermann's dangly bits.
I had been wanting to buy the Exped MegaMat Lite 12 sleeping pad for a number of years but the high price-point discouraged me from doing so. I am an avid camper (both conventional tenting and hammock tenting, mostly via motorcycle) and had always used cheaper sleeping pads that got me by, but always left me stiff and sore in the mornings. Recently turning 50 with still many years of motorcycle camping adventures ahead of me, I decided to finally take the plunge and make the purchase of this sleeping pad so I can sleep more comfortably in the great outdoors. Excellent design, quality, functionality and ease of use makes this sleeping pad a total game-changer! Excellent design, quality, functionality and ease of use makes this sleeping pad a total game-changer! Even though I purchased the bigger LXW version; it is lightweight and packs down small, and provides huge comfort! I genuinely wish I would have bought it sooner, but I guess better late than never! Now that I have it, I absolutely would recommend it to anyone looking for what I consider to be the best sleeping pad on the market!
This pad is every bit as comfortable as they said it would be, though it does take up a fair bit of space in the tent. I just used it on a 4 day canoe trip. By far the best sleeps I've ever had in the outdoors. I wouldn't use this sharing a regular 2p tent, but it worked ok in the Nemo Aurora due to the vertical sidewalls. My only wish is that they made an in between normal and wide version. A 22.5 inch wide would be perfect
This is the best mat for backpacking - it's light and compresses easily. The new schnozzel blow-up bag is life-changing. I highly recommend this mat for a very comfortable night's sleep after a long hike. I have the regular MegaMat for car camping, and this is just as comfy. It's also wide enough for broad shoulders (unlike the MegaMat Air which is good but just not big enough). Also need to add that I had a wonderful service experience with ExPed where they overnighted me a replacement mat last year a day before I left for a Labor Day camping trip and I will be a customer for life. This is the only brand of camping mat that I recommend.
This review is for the extra-wide pad, I believe it is a full 30". I am a senior woman with a bit more padding and fluff than i would like and this pad gives me so much more comfort than the narrow widths. As for the product itself, this is a quality pad, well suited for camping and packs up compactly for transport and storage. I do not use the provided inflation device and find a foot pump with universal nozzle to be perfect, quick and efficient in getting this mat inflated. I chose this over the self inflated pad from the same brand due to my experience with other brand self -inflating mats not performing well and i believe to keep them in top shape one has to store the pad open and inflated to maintain it. A fair number of the camp sites choose are walk-in sites and this has really lighted my load and provide a good night sleep after hiking.
Exped isn’t kidding when they describe the Megamat as a cloud. There wasn’t a single night that I didn’t get a good night’s sleep when using the Megamat Lite 12 sleeping pad. It is essentially a small air mattress that compresses down to half the size of a rolled sleeping bag. Amazing! Though larger and bulkier than sleeping pads I have used in the past, the Megamat doesn’t sacrifice comfort, which I am a huge fan of. I have found that this sleeping pad is best for car camping, sleeping in the back of your car, and for short overnight backpacking trips. I would not sacrifice the bulk and weight for longer, multiple day backpacking expeditions. It’s a little bulky and barely fit in the back of my Xterra, but I was able to make it work by putting both the seats down ... MoreExped isn’t kidding when they describe the Megamat as a cloud. The Megamat is easy to inflate with the stuff sack, and it comes equipped with a repair kit. I can fill the whole pad with two inflations of the stuff sack. What’s also wonderful about the Megamat Lite is that the fill stuff sack is waterproof and doubles as a dry bag for food and clothes. Genius! The material of the Megamat is durable and it is finished with a soft, luxurious fabric, which allows you to sleep directly on it with a blanket or open sleeping bag on top of you if you choose. Overall, this product is perfect for the adventurer on the go who wants to enjoy the comfort of being in their bed at home wherever they are in the wild or the world.
This is my second megamat lite. i liked the first enough to get another. sadly, my second has a slow leak noted within 30 days of purchase and before its first use. So, i am returning it for a replacement. my advice is to inflate it asap and leave it for a few days upon receipt to make sure yours doesn’t have a similar factory defect. otherwise, i love this mat. it is small enough for me to bring bike camping and feels better than a few mattresses i have on my beds at home! i would give it 5 stars if not for the leak. Moosejaw did great with delivery, so no problems there either.
