I love the flexible brush tip!, Perfect for calligraphy projects. I'm glad because i got it way cheaper than the original price. Order this yesterday and immediately received it. I'm thankful because it was my first time to pay online, i'm afraid that i may not have received this. But here it is... Also, five stars for the rider. Overall, I'm greatful for this purchase. Smooth transaction.

I love these pens! I started out with four sets of Basic, Terra, Grays and Landscape six pens each years ago - and still have those pocket sets handy in one of my go-bags. They are my favorite sketch pens for all sorts of things, from taking notes in online classes and drawing teacher diagrams to quick studies done in nature of everything from landscapes to animals. The brush tips retain their shape well for a good long time if handled gently. They mash down a bit if borrowed by grandchildren but still function well as markers, as my manga-loving granddaughter discovered. She inherited my 48 color all the colors set after mashing down a few tips and uses them so often she used them up. She inherited my 48 color all the colors set after mashing down a few tips and uses them so often she used them up. My recent order was a bunch of replacement pens for her because she keeps doing large paintings with them and ran out of black outliner brush tips. The other tips are useful too, very good overall compared with other waterproof, archival pens! The color range is superb! I replaced that 48 set with another and then with the 60 color full range that expanded it in exactly the directions I needed most - more lights and darks and some nuances I'd missed. The bigger the range, the easier that pen sketching becomes of course, they are like any markers medium. Work well on almost any paper. I do wear them out but it takes a long time, they are juicy with long lasting quality. The case for the 48 or 60 color sets is wonderful with a cool mechanism to tug up the rows and make them staggered - the whole palette visible at once and easy to select your color. Compact, powerful, well shaped and most of all, archival - these are pens for when you want your pen work as permanent as the artist grade watercolors and other media you use with them. Not just an illustrator's medium. If something comes out really well, it's fine to mount it or sell it, the colors will last! Most markers have the problem of being fugitive, intended for illustration where the final version is digital or printed.

LOVE these pens! The series of cold grays is a really nice spread, I can make value studies easily. You can also layer the one gray to get darker grays, which fills in the gaps between the grays, if you want. I've found that the tips fray easily, but this isn't unique to this brand of pens, I've found that marker tips do tend to soften quickly in general - or maybe I have a heavy hand! ;) I really enjoy adjusting to the way the markers change over time and find it very useful when they begin to run out of ink because you can get some nice effects of line and blocks of color as the tips get softer and the color doesn't lay down as intensely. There's a use for all stages of life in ink pens! Sometimes I'm sad when my old pen runs out completely and I have to break in ... MoreLOVE these pens! I use these with watercolor. They are fantastic, because I don't have to worry about drying time! I can ink and go straight over it with watercolor immediately. My only caveat is that the pen does lift on certain papers with this technique. I feel like that is probably a fault with the paper not the pen, but I don't know enough about it to say that with 100% certainty. This particular pack of pens has a fantastic variety of pen sizes. My favorites are the FH and 1.5 bullet nib. The FH is very similar to the Tombow Fudenosuke pens. As long as they don't change the pens, I would continue buying these throughout my lifetime. #sweepstakes
I like the 60 count. The box isn't the most portable as it can easily dump the pens. I enjoy using them for adult coloring books. I like the nib for medium to small areas. I would rather use a different tool for covering larger areas. As with the range of FC products, I like how well they work together with the Polychromos and Albrecht Durer pencils.
I have a couple of these pens in black, in a range of sizes. I use them for detail and linework with watercolors, they do not smudge at all when dry! They last a very long time; I've had mine for almost a decade now and they still work perfectly. With being both lightfast and acid-free, I'd recommend these pens to professional artists who will be selling their work or displaying in galleries.
I hate to leave a bad review, and I normally like the black Faber-Castell Pitt brush pens a lot - I've used them for many years. I was hoping that the white pens would be just as good, but not only are they not opaque, they pick up underlying ink (in this case Speedball Black Magic India ink that's been dry for 6 months). The tips subsequently get dirty, which you can see scribbled at the bottom. This happens when drawing with white over the black pen that's included with the set as well. My experience with Molotow white markers and Gelly Roll pens has been much better, to say nothing of good old white gouache. The hunt for the ultimate white correcting pen continues!
I use the Black Brush Tip only from Faber-Castell for a long time. In black colour it is fabulous; the tip is very flexible and soft, the ink is juicy and as needed I can smear it with my finger. However, the one in white has very stiff brush tip, almost not a brush as the hair does not separate under a bit of pressue; hardly any ink is coming out. It also picked up red watercolour on which I was testing it. The red was very dry as I tested the tone few days ago. It is not opaque enough, hardly showed on light green. I will keep it as it is only few dollars. I highly recommend the black colour. Do not bother with the white one.I would like to get one in sepia and sanguine but will those be as good as the black one, or stiff and feeling dry like the white one?
Incredibly pleased I found this! It colors over the black lines in coloring books completely with 2-3 coats that should dry in between. You can color with pencils over it easier than everything I have tried (paint, gel pens, paint pens). It flakes a little bit but far less than everything else I've tried and it wasn't as bumpy as some things get after 2-3 coats. Using it over or under water based markers is not great- it doesn't color the same color over it and over was okay with many coats to get to white but clean the nib before you use it again. Some coloring books have things you don't like or want to adapt and this is the easiest way imo. Also love it for highlights it seems to dry faster, be most opaque, and I haven't had any problems with smearing. #sweepstakes
I still do not like white brush tip pen because it is scratchy and dry, hardly any ink there, not opaque at all.I would imagine that a regular Fine Nib if available, would do a better job.But I noticed there two types of brush pens. Brush tip(nib) marked B, and soft brush nib marked SB.The SB is great, the B is not. I did not see white colour being available with Soft Brush Nib.The SB are the only ones I would recommend. I am not sure what the hard, inflexible brush tip is useable for. I do not like therefore do not recommend those marked B.
