Both our cats, one older, one youngster, love the Fancy Feast Chicken and Beef Variety Pack. We alternate between this one and the Poultry and Beef version, and they love them all. We think that the Fancy Feast Pates are way better than kibble cat foods, and better quality than most other brands of wet canned foods. Our older cat used to have a terrible weight problem that we struggled to keep under control. That was years ago when we were feeding the cats another brand of kibble that we got from the vet (expensive). Then we switched to another canned food to see if that would help. He would eat it but it didn't look good, and smelled worse. Then we switched to the Fancy Feast 3 oz cans, two a day for him, and the weight started coming off. He's down to 15 lbs from ... He's down to 15 lbs from his high weight of 26 lbs, and he's maintaining it. The vet has since said to keep giving him this amount because he's in good health and his weight is under control. His energy level is better, and he can jump up onto the bed and couch effortlessly - which he couldn't do easily before. This is all because of switching to Fancy Feast. We sometimes buy other Fancy Feast flavors and cuts for variety, but the Pate Variety Pack is our go-to food that they both seem to like best. They both get very excited when I open up the cans, the younger one spins in circles at my feet meowing as I'm putting her bowl down in front of her. It's hilarious.

My four cats started coughing and sneezing immediately after eating this food. They have never done that before with any other cat food. Looked up this problem online and found this product can cause respiratory allergies to develop in cats because of the soy content and some of the other ingredients. Now stuck with a whole box minus the two cans that I fed to them before I recognized it was this problem. I thought it was going to be a good food because of all the good reviews here and Fancy Feast has been around a long time. I woukdn’t even donate this to a shelter. It’s going into the trash instead.

This is NOT a complaint about Chewy. To be clear, I purchase other canned goods from Chewy and they always arrive in good condition and are packed well. This is a complaint about Fancy Feast Variety 24 pack. I received a box of Fancy Feast Variety Pack, case of 24 from Chewy. I have been ordering this product for a while. Recently the packaging for the variety pack has been falling apart - ungluing the sides - before the pack is even out of the Chewy box. In addition, the cans are dented. Six cans out of the 24 pack are dented in this recent delivery. The packing box for the product should be stronger - not the flimsy one we are getting - and it should be strong enough to prevent the cans from being bent. Of the six bent in the recent box, two have to be thrown out ... MoreThis is NOT a complaint about Chewy. Fancy feast cat food has gone downhill. Their food is way too expensive and is filled with meat by-products, grain mash %26 fillers, basically crap! For the crap I was willing to pay the 37 cents a can it used to cost. Now they want premium prices ( 87 cents ) a can for food that is bad for my cats health. I am only buying it until I find a premium ingredient, high quality food that my cats like. I mean they don’t even add vitamins %26 minerals to the 87cnts a can food. They withhold those important ingredients for their “ premium line” that still isn’t vary good for them %26 is not too palatable either! That’s horrible!!! My kitten was extremely sick. After the terrible sickness had subsided after his medicine started working. He had trouble eating, and I hate to say it but was looking severely malnourished. I wanted to start giving him wet food, did not want to give him junk, and wanted it to be affordable at the same time. I turned to Fancy Feast Paté of any flavor, really. I had tried a few other brands. He would eat a bite or 2 of those other brands and walk away. I would try to get him interested, but he was not interested AT ALL!! With Fancy Feast, him being a kitten, I spooned out a tablespoon, and he devoured it easily and quickly. I waited a few minutes, not wanting him to get sick from eating so fast, and spooned out another tablespoon, he ate half of that before sitting up ... MoreMy kitten was extremely sick. I am BEYOND happy he found interest and I'm happy to see it was yet another Purina product!! THANK YOU!!
I've been feeding this to both of my senior cats for years and they've always loved it. It's the only thing they would actually finish eating, but over the last couple years - and especially this last year (2023) - the quality has significantly gone downhill. The food often smells terrible - almost rancid, and very runny liquid. A couple times the cans were filled with liquid. My cats often won't touch it or get sick soon after eating it. I've tried many different variety packs and even buying the cans individually, which another complaint I have is that the cans themselves often appear "dirty" as though the manufacturing process is... messy? Not good. Also the order of the flavored cans in the box is always changing. It makes me wonder what is going on with the ... Not good. Also the order of the flavored cans in the box is always changing. It makes me wonder what is going on with the manufacturing process when nearly every other box has a different order of cans/flavors. A proper QA process should ensure consistency throughout, no?On a final note, Chewy's fulfillment and shipping time is so slow and disappointing now. It used to be very fast (overnight) and convenient, but now it takes days for orders to even ship out. It's pretty bad when a company goes backwards at such a high rate of speed on service quality. Pair that with bad product quality and the future looks bleak. Not sure what the deal is - bad hiring or company "culture"? Whatever it is, something needs to change.
At least two of my cats vomited after eating this food - I know it was this food because it was the only thing they ate this morning and the vomit looked like the Fancy Feast they had just consumed. I also had a problem with the Fancy Feast grilled variety with cheese in it causing sickness in the past, but I thought it was just the cheese that disagreed with them. I purchased this after reading on several websites that Fancy Feast Classic Pate was recommended for senior cats, cats with urinary issues and IBD, but this is extremely poor food. It was also extremely dried out, not moist at all which defeated the purpose of adding moisture to their diets. Unfortunately, I bought two cases of this which I will discard as I don't want to make any other cats ill. Watching ... Watching one of my babies throwing up after eating and seeing another one of them running around crying pitifully and hiding under the bedcovers was extremely upsetting and heartbreaking. I will never buy Fancy Feast again.
My cat loves wet cat food so I thought I’d try out Fancy Feast Grain Free Pate Wet Cat Food, Classic Pate Chicken Feast. Since I’m not a fan of pop-tops, I thought I’d try to open the can with my can opener. It almost worked but sadly it did not, so I guess opening it via the pop-top is the way to go for next time. The wet cat food smelled and looked alright. I thought I’d flatten the pate to spread out the wet cat food and I think it helped my cat consume it a little better. She tends to consume a 3 oz can in about three sittings which she did as usual. I think she liked it as she tried it right away and consumed a normal amount for the first sitting. I like that this wet cat food contains no artificial preservatives or colors and has a good ingredients list. I’m ... When it comes to wet food, my furbaby prefers thick gravies and softer textured foods. So this pate consistency was perfect to fulfill her appetite. I love that this recipe includes real chicken as the primary and first ingredient, as this is something I intentionally seek out for her. Product does seem to have a stronger that usual cat food odor that I could identify throughout the house for a while after feeding but I do not mind so long as my pet does not mind. And my pet did not seem to be bothered by it but instead was quickly drawn to it and continued to eat without budging until she was fully satiated. Since I did not feed the entire can to my pet, I did store the remainder in the refrigerator until the next feeding. The product afterwards did have some ... Here's something many people do not realize. When you buy Fancy Feast at Walmart in the open packaging with a cardboard and plastic wrap across the top? It's always darker brown even black sometimes and drier. My cat doesn't lie it. Then buy the same product in the cardboard boxes no plastic wrap type packaging. It's always a nice pinker color like salmon and nice moisture. I've tested this theory and I'm certain. It's because the 2 different packaging typing are different factories. So, Purina is selling subpar Fancy Feast Chicken Pate in the plastic top wrapped cans. Then the completely boxed in packaging found at places like Target or Amazon is a noticeable difference in quality. Something needs to be done about this it's serious deception to customers.
