Absolute game-changer!

Not only can we make two cups at once with ease, but we have also been able to control enough variables to dial in our technique even further (thanks to the very clear instructions). The vacuum seal is where it is at! Finally, we can control the brew time with confidence, without worrying about losing flavor because of ill-fitting filters not conforming to the wall, causing the water to run too quickly through the beans. We can actually distinguish the tasting notes indicated on the bags we buy, and we are spending less money at the coffee shop because we can make it better at home! The morning ritual is so much more personalized and fulfilling, and our Carter mugs keep our coffee hot for hours after. Plus, the marks on the double-walled glass carafe make it super easy to pour the perfect amount, and the provided funnel is perfect for putting beans into our hand grinder without losing any to the floor. Thank you, Fellow! This product is worth every penny!

I love this brewer. I got the XF model because every other coffee maker I have is single cup only. The coffee that comes out of it is very pleasing (assuming good coffee, good water, and good technique.)The workflow is very easy, in part because of the accessories that come with the kit. The dosing funnel makes loading the grounds easy and neat. The drip cup is a handy, multi-purpose device that gets use on my coffee bench no matter which brewer I'm using. The carafe is nicely made and I love making a double batch so I can get my morning two cups in one go, or I can share coffee with the wife. 😊💕 Pro tip: if you are going to let the second cup sit a while, turn the stopper around so the pouring gap doesn't let air in to oxidize your brew. The only downside is ... MoreI love this brewer. The double walled glass pitcher is beautiful. I generally brew directly into my Carter Move Mug rather than the pitcher. I use the pitcher both as a vase and to stir and pour cocktails (the lid works will as an ice strainer). The narrow opening of the strainer and the fluting of the filter paper makes pouring in coffee grounds without making a mess challenging - even with the little metal funnel. Perhaps a less oily light roast would flow more smoothly, but I use a dark roast with a #5 grind that tends to clump like wet sand rather than pour like dry sand. Also, the non-standard filter papers are an annoyance. Easy to brew great coffee consistently.
16 April 2023

I am happy I made this purchase. It's my first pour over brewer with a flat bed. The flow rate is controlled nicely from the numerous holes & tall sides. Additionally, the grooves in the Stagg paper filters seem to ensure a smooth flow. Combined, all these features mean that it is very easy to brew while keeping the grounds consistently flat & even; ensuring a reduced risk of channelling & therefore a more even extraction. Even if my pour was slightly clumsy, no peaks or valleys in the grounds have shown so far. Props to this design for that. The vacuum sealed brewer and double walled carafe obviously do a great job with temperature control, very happy to see that. If you are someone who returns to their coffee after more than 20 mins for their second cup, consider a thermal carafe. After 5 brews and a few tweaks on grind settings, I can safely say my coffee has been delicious af! It's easy to detect a top, middle, and base flavour profile, and the equipment not only looks beautiful on the counter while you are working, clever design details improve your brewing experience and make it easier to brew great tasting coffee consistently. A+

Great but could use a few improvements
8 March 2023

This is a great idea and brews a great cup of coffee and delivers great flavor with most all grinds of coffee. There are a few drawbacks to it though. It is hard to hold for smaller hands, a handle would be a great addition. The filters have a strange smell to them when you first pour the water on them, it would be great if they offered an unbleached filter option. (I have been able to use #4 unbleached cone filters found at grocery store but they are not as good as the ones it comes with). Lastly, the glass is quite delicate. I had only used it a few times when I grazed the sink granite rinsing it out and it shattered. I was able to get a replacement carafe on amazon but have to be very careful with it and store it on a silicone trivet to ensure it stays intact. A stainless steel pot or silicone on the glass would be a better design as far as breakage goes for longevity. That being said, I really love it. I stopped using a Keurig after so many years and really like the taste of my coffee now and it's fast and easy and no plastic or moldy reservoir water in my coffee now.

Impractical, but beautiful - don't buy
2 January 2022

I was really excited for another Stagg product and this one seemed like a great design.Beautiful and nice to see an integrated product, but there's just so much oversight and how it's actually used.1) The filters because of the ripples holds about 30% less coffee than a standard single cup topper. The funnel design causes all the ripples to create an inner circle, which also causes the grinds to be very vertical and I think leads to overextraction.2) The funnel resting piece is a two-part design, with a partial metal funnel that is not sealed to the bottom. And in fact, it comes with plastic wrap between it and the outer shell. There is no seal and liquid gets stored in the gap between the two making it nearly impossible to clean out. It pains me to say this

I'll start off saying,I love the design and the thought behind this. It's simple, sleek, and looks great on the counter. But... and it pains me to say this, the execution isn't great. When it comes to the carafe, there is no quality assurance. It does not pour evenly, with or without the lid, because the glass at the spout is not evenly formed. It makes for a messy pour. It actually pours better without the lid but not by much. Also, the carafe doesn't keep the coffee warm very long. Which doesn't make sense because it's double walled.FELLOW sent me another one to rectify the problem with carafe, but even the second one had the same problem, and it was actually worse than the first one.I am very grateful and love FELLOWs customer service, but unfortunately I have to say ... MoreI'll start off saying,I love the design and the thought behind this. It’s just ok…more design over function.
25 February 2023

I think this thing makes a great cup of coffee, but there are several flaws with it that sacrifice function for design. The first is that during cleanup you feel as if you are going to drop it because there is no grip around the neck. The second is that during brew the filter actually forms a fairly tight seal with the base of the brewer and it induces a fairly slow drip. Better plan for 10-12 minutes to brew. Overall, I think it is just ok and there is the obvious wow factor with the ritual here, but it’s quite frankly overpriced and looks pretty rather than being a game changing coffee brewing workhorse. To that end, the filters are stupidly expensive. I’d pay 8 dollars for 100 filters, but 8 dollars for 45? Again, design over function.

Only a 3 due to
2 March 2023

Only a 3 due to design. I want to start with saying I love the double wall and functionality. I prefer everything piping hot. I used this twice and then broke it cleaning dishes, my hand had a little water on it and it slipped out of my grasp as I was bringing it into the sink. If it were slightly wider at the top or had a handle or some textural element in the middle of the vessel it may have prevented this.Obviously one could look at this and say well you should know better, but when I am washing multiple dishes I do not dry my hands in between washing dishes, haven’t met many people that do, that does not mean they do not exist or someone else wouldn’t have taken EXTRA care when cleaning this. However having to really baby or be careful with something does take away from functionality a touch, which is reason for the 3 star rather than 5. (Which is what every other fellow product I have gets as they are all absolutely stellar). Again overall I love this and really thought it was nice the two occasions I used it, just speaking from experience knowing others may share a similar situation OR hopefully avoid this after reading the review ❤️

almost the perfect pour over
5 January 2023

I really don't have any complaints with the Stagg [XF] pour over set. It makes a great cup of coffee and with the vertical form factor its rather easy to create a consistent pour. My only issue is the handling of the carafe. I have large hands, and even I can feel uneasy when carrying it while full or when its wet after washing. I'd love it there was a handle, lip, or some kind of additional traction. As it was part of a bundle, I didn't have the option to go with the Mighty Brewing Kit. Regardless of the vessel, the dripper makes a great cup.
