A bit big for small hands ;o)

The cup is voluminous and may well be a little big for small hands. This in turn makes it impossible to hold with one hand.On the other hand, it is aesthetically extremely beautiful and to maintain the quality and beauty, it is essential that it is not put in the dishwasher. For some, this may be a shortcoming; they should then look for another cup.The price, well, if you want something, give something.

I was initially excited to find an around-the-office (non-travel) coffee mug that would keep a beverage hot during distractions. The Fellows Joey performed quite poorly in this regard, and was barely superior to an ordinary ceramic mug. In controlled testing (data available on request) the sample immediately quenched to 180F, fell below the 150F threshold in 13 minutes, and below the crucial 120F threshold in 33 minutes. By comparison a Hydroflask widemouth kept it's sample above 150F for 35 minutes. This can't be explained by the small volume and fairly wide top: the Joey barely beat a short souvenir ceramic mug.I will be curious to dissect the Joey for engineering forensics. The copper-tone stainless base may also hurt: the Joey almost certainly does not have vacuum insulation.

A great specialty coffee has to be served in a great mug and that’s exactly what I found the Fellow Joey to be. I spend a lot of money on sourcing really good coffee and that pleasure is just so much better now! The quality is what you’d expect from Fellow, although the downside is that I have probably up’d my intake of coffee…. but who’s counting! I expect I’ll be buying a few more from this range. They are simply great!

Cannot tell a cup by its cover
8 July 2020

The picture lead me to believe that the interior of the cup also had a wide bottom. It does not. I have been searching for a cup (8 oz. or less) with a wide-bottom and narrower mouth to help concentrate the aroma of the coffee when sipping it. This cup does a good of job of what it claims to do... keeping the coffee warmer longer. It help tremendously to preheat the cup with boiling water. The biggest benefit is its unique look (for those of us who are into looks :)

I prefer the Fellow Monty Latte cup
7 February 2022

I bought two of these at the same time as two 11oz Montys. I prefer the Monty in almost all ways (even when only pouring 200ml drinks). This cup is heavy and wide which is ok for me but my wife isn’t a fan. It also isn’t dishwasher safe - unlike the Monty.Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a nice cup I would just rather have two more 11oz Montys.

Lovely cup with a couple small issues
16 February 2023

I really love this cup. I use it everyday for my 1:1 “latte.” The bottom of the white cup stains quite easy and has a few marks I can’t seem to scrub out, and a minuscule black dot or two I think came in the surface inside the cup brand new. It is a bit wide if you don’t have larger hands, due to the dual wall insulation. My biggest gripe with this cup, is the bottom copper piece was not fully glued to the ceramic part of the cup. Due to this, little bits of water have been able to make its way inside the base of the cup. I’ve only ever hand washed it with warm water, so I don’t believe I created the issue. It is very annoying sometimes if I hold the cup wrong, when I go to take a sip stagnant water will drip out and onto my shirt. I’ve thought about trying to ... MoreI really love this cup. It is very annoying sometimes if I hold the cup wrong, when I go to take a sip stagnant water will drip out and onto my shirt. I’ve thought about trying to refuel the gap in the glued seam, but then the water that is stuck inside would be trapped in there forever. As for now, I just try to be cognizant of it when washing, and especially when using it, so water doesn’t drip out on me. It’s a shame, because this small defect has spoiled what otherwise would be an excellent and classy looking coffee cup. The matte copper bottom does wear down eventually revealing more shiny colored copped, but it doesn’t look terrible like that, at least it’s not a thin laminate with a drastically different color underneath.

Satisfying, if impractical
23 July 2023

The Joey is an attractive, solid cup which certainly makes a statement. The physical size to volume ratio is a little off: it holds surprisingly little for such a large cup. However, it’s very well made, and the double-walled nature is fairly unique in ceramics too. After ******* a bit of heat to its thermal mass, it’ll keep your drink warm for a little while. Overall it’s quite a nice experience if you like a bit of indulgence.

Too small for macchiatos
29 November 2022

The cups are very small, a perfect size for a double espresso. . I wanted them for macchiato’s. They only hold about 60 ml with a 35 ml shot, leaving 1.5 T for milk and foam. The cups look nice and have good weight.

Wonderful.
14 March 2022

This mug has a lovely heft to it and it's aesthetics make it quite lovely to use. The copper bottom has a nice lip to it, making it easier to hold, especially with its weight. The container itself is quite large to compensate for the double sealing but it allows it to maintain a nice warm brew for a good amount of time while never being unpleasant to hold.I likey.
