Loving my new Fender '68 Custom Amp. Awesome tones and practical too! This amp is light enough to take out and about easily, plus helps keep noise levels manageable in a small home space. .

This is a fantastic amp. It’s pedal friendly, but sounds great on its own. The reverb and vibro sound rad and are very useful. It’s loud enough for a band but can also be quiet enough for an apartment. Try one for yourself.

Deliciously rich sounding

I use this amp for practice but wouldn't hesitate to take it out for performances. The sound quality is excellent. I'm not a fan of Celestion speakers- they "bark" too much for my taste. I replaced the stock Celestion with an Eminence Cannabis Rex-a much mellower sounding speaker. The reverb is digital. I'd prefer a tube reverb but that would probably raise the price. This isn't a stadium shaker but if you want great sounding amp, this is it. Bottom line, I'm happy I bought it.

Fabulous wee Amp.

Need an amp that’s easy to carry, has that wonderful valve sound, is well engineered and looks great?Look no further. My only gripe, if forced, would be that the Fender Foot-switch is not included in the price. It does come with its own Fender branded amp cover but apart from that it is as good as my Cornell Tweed and my Mesa Boogie.Result.

Gotta Like It...Update Part 2
10 August 2021

My original review was in depth and compared it to my SF Champ and Princeton Reverb. I still like the amp, but wish it didn't have the PC board, more for the repair capability down the line than any impact on sound. I did swap out the speaker. The poor Celestion 10-30 doesn't get much love among some people, then again it's not a $100 Celestion. It is what it is; I don't "dislike" the speaker, but wanted to see if I could eke out any improvements with a swap. Anyway, I thought I'd try a different speaker and went for the WGS Veteran 10. There's not a lot of 4 ohm 10" guitar speakers out there and luckily WGS does offer some 4 ohm options. I hooked the speakers to an old DOD A/B box so I could immediately switch back and forth. I found the WGS Veteran 10 to my liking ... MoreMy original review was in depth and compared it to my SF Champ and Princeton Reverb. I found the WGS Veteran 10 to my liking over the Celestion, but j-u-s-t barely. Top end,low end and volume were about the same on both to my ears. Where I perceived a slight difference was in the midrange, where the WGS Veteran 10 seemed to have a bit more clarity, and after all, the guitar lives in the midrange for the most part. When I cranked it up to "10" though, I definitely preferred the Celestion, which had more clarity; the WGS 10 seemed a bit dark and muddy. To my ears the Celestion 10-30 handled the full out distortion better. Then again, sound is very subjective. Was the WGS 10 a "big" improvement? To my ears no; I could live with the Celestion 10-30. And if I was gonna dime the controls and go for that bluesy grind I'd keep the Celestion in there. But for the lower volume clean sounds I favor I'll go with the WGS 10 for now. Bottom line, in my opinion and to my ears, the Celestion 10-30 is a pretty good match for the amp, but feel free to experiment like I did. After playing it for a while I'm not bothered by the lack of a spring reverb, the digital HALL emulation works fine for me.

Great Amp, If... A Word of Caution
5 April 2023

I love the 10" speaker, love the reverb, trem is tube powered and great, great clean tones can get mean when pushed, and a very useful 2nd input for a little more headroom... think of the second input as a built in attenuator, allows you to turn up the amp at lower output. Has all the typical Fender sound you'd expect, looks great, and plays well with nearly all my pedals except maybe a germanium fuzz face...The bad: I went through two of these amps as each one had a high pitch rattle from the power tubes when the volume was pushed above 4-5. Very noticeable. I thought it was a one off, went to a different store, bought another and had the same issue. I reached out to Fender and still haven't gotten a response. I didn't want to go to a repair center because I shouldn't have to take a new amp there. I just bought a new output tube (6v6) swapped out the stock one and that fixed it. Cost me an extra $45 to fix a new amp that clearly had a bad run of tubes. However, the amp was good enough for me and my needs that it was worth it to me. But keep this in mind. Those components are not the highest quality and it's not a cheap amp for what it is.

Great amp
7 January 2022

Can't find a bad sound. Great cleans at low volume starts to break up around 7. To get the best drive sound you will want a good OD. Digital Hall reverb is not bad but I have better pedals for that. Tremolo/vibrato is not the best but it isn't bad at all. For the price it is the perfect solution for great fender clean sounds without costing an arm and leg. Should include a footswitch with the amp that is just being cheap.

Killer amp all the way

This is a gem of an ampAmazing sound with Stratocaster, Es330, Es335.I suggest you keep the open back far from the wall, amp on the floor. This configuration enhances greatly the 3D spaceness of the amazing sound this amp delivers. It also helps to feel the power of the 5 watts that are quite impressive for the size (I mean it, don't be fooled by the 5w rating, the thing gets very loud above 6 on the volume pot)I was a bit sceptical about the price which seemed steep at first. After having for a week, my oh my, not at all, it's well worth the price in my opinion. I use this amp. for home use in my studio but also can be used for small gigs and jams this is a fantastic little amp. well-built and takes paddles very well. I just love this little beauty for the price I think Fender should add in the foot switch that would be a plus other than that I have no cons. at all Keep up the good work Fender!!
