I bought mine used; great sound, although the pickups are of a slightly lower output---so turn your amp up a bit. Stunning grain pattern on the Sienna Burst Ash body. The 'tall' frets took a bit of time to get used to----fret with too much pressure and your notes will go sharp---so finger the note lightly and you'll be fine. Love the neck profile. Fender has made a professional grade Strat that will satisfy---no need to buy a custom shop model!

I'm old and have owned way too many Guitars in my life to count but my new Fender American Professional Strat, Antique Oliver / Rosewood fret board, is absolutely GREAT! I've had a couple of Strats in my past including a Custom Shop and this thing is head and shoulders better right out of the box. I did put 10s on it and adjust the pickup heights for the sound I liked and that was it. The fret board is the best I've ever played and the quality is top notch. I used to buy Gibsons but their QC is absolutely non existent now. Go Fender

Although the antique olive was not necessarily my first color choice, it looks amazing in person. The finish is much thinner than the finish on my MIM Standard telecaster or strat - I can very faintly see the join lines and grain through the finish, and the instrument itself is very resonant unplugged. Out of the box, the action was basically perfect - I set intonation and tuning and have not had to adjust saddles or tweak the truss rod at all. The neck profile is very comfortable for me - far more than either the 2002 "American Fat Strat Texas Special" or 2012 American Standard I had previously - hand-filling and substantial without sacrificing easy chording and bending. In terms of tones - it really nails all of the bell-like tones strats have become famous for. ... MoreAlthough the antique olive was not necessarily my first color choice, it looks amazing in person. I am definitely more a fan of the three pickups individually than the 'in-between' settings, but it also has the 'quack' you want if you are an aficionado of those tones as well. The vibrato is light and easy - I don't do a lot of dive-bombing, but it's perfect for adding a bit of shimmer here and there.I know I'm still in the 'honeymoon' period, but I believe it's going to be a long and happy marriage!

Get one, you'll never regret it. Talk about smooth action on a maple neck (yes that 22nd fret makes it also worthwhile), and good looks to boot. I got one for my daughter (who lost hers (my grandfathers) to a recent burglary) and liked it so much I got myself an older Telecaster to play with, which she'll also end up with someday too, but for now I'm stretching strings again! American Pro's are NOT made in Mexico, they are made in the US only!
This is my first strat and I am very pleased. I got the olive with rosewood. Absolutely stunning to look at! PUPs are low output compared to my humbucker guitars but that is to be expected. Neck feels great. Light guitar. Set up was ok, but had to remove the 9's strings and put on 10's. Sounds and feels much better. The hard shell case is ridiculous...meaning it is the best case I've seen! Being this is my first strat, I wasn't sure what to expect tone wise. It is thinner, but not in a bad way. Also...while noisier than my humbuckers, it wasn't as bad as I expected.Very nice guitar. I am very pleased with it.
Often copied never duplicated... lol jk. Really I love the guitar Ive never owned an American fender before and I love it. The neck is like silk is so smooth to play and it came in such great condition. The frets fell perfect and each clip of the switch is a different start sound its great. After I got the guitar I did a ton of research to figure out of each part is authentic our a cheap copy and as far as I can tell (even after emailing fender about 7 pictures and a video) it is the real thing (I get nervous buying used guitars).
Picked up the first one sold retail in California, absolutely love the performance and feel of the Deep C neck. tone is perfect out of the box. The guitar came from Fender flawless, everything down to the micro details was perfect. Plays better than all the Elites I have tried- If this is a consideration to add to your collection of just moving up from MIM, you will love this guitar - it feels and plays exactly how you expect! it will be difficult to wipe that silly grin off your face once you start playing!
I've given this Strat the full 5-stars for its fundamental excellence. The spec on this new "Professional" series is very much to my liking: the nut width is that tiny bit wider than some Fenders (MIA or MIM), which I prefer, and the "Deep C" is a very comfortable neck profile. The "narrow/tall" frets are likewise very comfortable and beautifully finished. The balance and tone of the pickups is superb. What more could you want, out of the box! Well... ;) It comes strung with .009-.042, but I prefer .010-.046, so they'll be going on soon. It comes set up with "floated" trem/bridge and three springs. I'll "deck" (or block) that when the string change comes (a wee disappointment not to have the remaining two springs in the case, but that's easily remedied). All in all, a wonderful instrument.
My new favourite guitar! It sounds exactly like a Strat should. The neck feels so smooth and the fretboard is so glossy, making playing it a dream. The pickups all sound brill in each position, and there's a great range of tones to be had.The build quality is excellent and it's nice to have tone and volume controls that are very progressive. What more can I say, apart from, just look at it! Makes you want to pick it up and play, which we all know is very important. It's everything I hoped it would be.
This is the "real deal"! Made in America Stratocaster (Professional). I love the sound of this guitar. The action - out of the box - was fantastic, and it has that "spanky" strat sound. Love, love, love this guitar! The maple neck is very easy to play and makes bending strings a dream. I had a Made in Mexico strat, but although it sounded similar, it's just not the same as this guitar. It was very much worth the investment, and was on sale, so it was that much sweeter. It's got the five switch selector for the pick-ups, two tone control knobs, and volume. I love the locking tuners, too. Stays in tune well, takes a capo well, and has a very clean sound. I'm playing it with my Fender Champion 100 amp, and have a couple of pedals, as well, and I'm just in heaven!!!
