I considered many different guitars before deciding on this one. Thus far, I have been beyond happy with it.Probably the weakest part of this offering is the gig bag, which lacks any padding. Not too big a deal if the guitar never leaves your custody, but you'll likely want something a little sturdier if entrusting the guitar to someone else. I have yet to attach the strap, but it seems to be of decent quality. The picks will work nicely for a beginner, but there are only three of them. I assume the strings are the same as on the guitar, so they should suffice unless you like heavier strings. There is also an Allen key for truss rod adjustments. The guitar is a great piece! Sustain cold be a tad better, but otherwise, I have no complaints about this instrument. The pack does not include a tuner. You have the option to purchase one or use the Fender Tune app; I did both. A string winder/cutter would also be a desirable add-on.Finally, you also get a free 90-day subscription to Fender Play. I have found this to be a good instructional method. If you're a beginning guitarist, I highly recommend this setup!

A beautiful guitar with a wonderful tone, it was sent with a relatively good action. There were some finish issues in the one I ordered that I will have to correct so I can't give it a perfect review, but this is a really good guitar for the price. Had I payed full price (I got it on sale for 100) I would have been very upset with the finish flaws and probably sent it back for a replacement. That being said, it sounds and plays beautifully.

I was looking to buy another guitar with all mahogany body but it was out if stock. After some extensive research I decided to go with the Fender CD-60S. So glad I went with the Fender. What a beautiful guitar. The pictures on line don't do justice to the dark mahogany wood. Pleasing to the eye as well as the ear. It has a rich full tone. I think it comes with Fender strings which sound good but I prefer D'Addario. The action is good but there's room for improvement. I'll work on that when I change the strings. The neck is perfectly straight so I'll work on the nut and the bridge each time I change strings. The "easy play" neck is very comfortable. The tuning is very smooth and the strings don't slip or "pop" when tuning. All in all I'm very impressed and very happy ...Β MoreI was looking to buy another guitar with all mahogany body but it was out if stock. I have a lot of guitars, over 40 the last time I counted. I have about 7 or 8 acoustics. Most of all are solid wood build but that means they are sometimes rendered unplayable during the winters. So I purchased this guitar. I got it on sale, so I actually bought 2 of them. The first one I gave away to a friend, that one played PERFECT out of the box. The 2nd one I had to straighten the neck which lowered the action and now it plays perfect as well. The rolled edges are nice and smooth and will greatly help a new player so their hands don't get torn up by sharp fret edges. The tuners are surprisingly nice, as good as any I have had on even very high end guitars. I tuned it once, and it stayed in tune for days. The strings are extra light I believe, which does give it ...Β MoreI have a lot of guitars, over 40 the last time I counted. I have about 7 or 8 acoustics. The tuners are surprisingly nice, as good as any I have had on even very high end guitars. I tuned it once, and it stayed in tune for days. The strings are extra light I believe, which does give it a slightly bright sound but not as bright as my solid wood Washburn. Once the strings have been changed to just Light strings it should sound just a bit warmer and full. The guitar scale is just a tad shorter than a regular sized dreadnought and the neck is just a bit thinner and the fretboard not quite as wide. It took me a couple times playing but now I'm use to it.For those who already have guitars, I'll break down the sound compared to some others that I have. Its not as heavy as my solid wood guitars and does not sound as loud. Compared to my Washburn solid wood WS150 it is a little warmer but just as articulate on the strings and chords when played. Compared to my Ovation 1771X it is not as well ballanced but does sound better because the ovation is of course plastic. It does not compare to my Guild D-150CE (rosewood body) or my Gibson J-150 (bubinga body) The Guild is 4 times the price though and the Gibson is 8 times or more the price so understandable. It is the best sounding and playing $100 acoustic I have ever played. Even not on sale at $200 it is an exceptional value! I will put a soundhole preamp pickup in mine.
Bought this Fender CD 60 guitar form Musicians Fiend and the neat case was included.Capo works great as well...no retooning needed.Strap buttons are sturdy and finish is better than my Taylor 310 (not currently being made in 2022).So, buy one of these and you will enjoy it.
Generally, it is a great guitar. Many of you would expect a low volume for a mahogany top, back and side guitar. However, it's dreadnought style compensates for this and thus you will have a warm mellow toned guitar whilst still having plenty of volume. The guitar looks a lot better in real life than on the photos you may see on the internet. Contrary to the CD60S spruce top (built in Indonesia), this guitar is manufactured in China. The tone difference between CD60S spruce top and this one is small as the spruce top also has mahogany back and sides. This guitar however is one with great overtones. Being a novice, it is a great starting guitar. My only complaint is that the nut and saddle are plastic. Being a novice, it is a great starting guitar. My only complaint is that the nut and saddle are plastic. The nut, in particular, causes the guitar to be in need of tuning every 2 or 3 days. However, this disadvantage is very manageable and if you prefer, you can spend a tiny bit of money to replace the nut with a bone nut at a guitar shop.If you webchat with a guitar center rep they might be able to give you a discount to cut the cost of this guitar to the price level of the cheapest possible for a major manufacturer's acoustic guitar.

To playing the guitar in front of people will be amazing experience.
When I recived this guitar I was stunned! I love the dark look of this guitar! The sound is just as good! Usually you need some kind of setup or trust rood adjusment especially since I?m in Arizona. Dispite the climate difference all the insturment needed was tuning. The guitar played like butter in my hands! Over all very satisfied!
My daughter bought this for me a couple years ago because I spend a lot of time on my butt with chronic back pain. Once I adjusted to it's larger size easily can lay down playing it. I'm 56 years old and been playing guitar since I was12. Let me tell you the beautiful tone that comes out of this instrument rivals instruments 5 times the price. I put a set of electric 9's on it so I can bend the strings and it's country and blues heaven. I love this axe! She's a looker too. Real easy on the eyes.
Purchased the CS-60S about 10 weeks ago. It is a pleasure to play this instrument. Intonation was spot on, The tuners hold, so one can go days or more without needing a tune, and when you do adjust the tune it is only minor adjustments. The Dreadnought size guitar has a great feeling neck.
