And it comes with locking tuners, too. Also, the block saddles on the bridge makes for a nice even platform to rest your picking hand, and palm mutes are easily done. I used to swear by the vintage style bent saddles but not no mo'. I titled this review "Almost Perfect" because this guitar IS almost perfect. Vintage Noiseless pickups come with 1 Meg pots and the taper on the volume knob takes some getting used to. There's a huge jump on volume between 8 and 10. That's my only knock.

Definitely a Super Strat!

Overall:Let me start by saying I have been playing guitar since 1975. So I do have some experience. This guitar is one of the best guitars I have ever played. I bought the 3 tone sunburst. I have previously owned Player Strats & have enjoyed them but found the quality slightly lacking(fret ends). This guitar bridges thst gap. Beautiful well made & great looking guitar. I do my own setups so on this model I did not have to fight with it at all. Very user friendly. Plays like high class guitar. Sounds very great too. This is my 2nd Player Plus Strat. Both are super guitars. I would not hesitate buying another. You should not either.

I am delighted with my purchase of the Fender Player II Stratocaster in Sunburst. I done my research so I was fairly sure I'd made the right choice but when I actually received the guitar it is better than I could have imagined. The neck is so smooth, the guitar is a good weight, the off white pick ups and dial knobs are unique and the main thing, the playability, is superb. It came set up too which was very much appreciated. The guitar is great and I highly recommend.

Overall:I just received this today and am pleasantly pleased with it. It's a beautiful guitar. The fit & finish is right on. It's neck is straight as an arrow. The tuners are smooth and accurate. Rolled fingerboard edges is a nice improvement to what used to be sharp feeling edges. It does have some tuning issues when using the Trem, but I've remedied that with some nut lubrication. Problem gone. It has nice, close string action with no fretting out, buzzing or rattle. It's the 1st new guitar that I haven't had to adjust the action, or the neck, with the exception of the low E saddle didn't quite follow the neck radius. One side of it was a tad bit low. It's also the 1st Strat I've bought, out of many, that I won't be spending more money for pickups. I probably will replace the synthetic bone nut with probably a Graph Tech nut. That's an inexpensive upgrade that I know from experience will improve tone and tuning stability. I most likely will upgrade the saddles also. The better the string contact points on both ends, the better overall sound. I may also upgrade the wiring harness. Although, the factory harness seems to be alright. So it's not something pressing. It did not include a gig bag, which matters not to me. I don't use them. A good guitar deserves a good hardshell case. A case for it will be coming soon. I don't think you can go wrong with one of these.

Overall:I am very pleased with the new Fender player ll strat. This is my first strat in this price range in a while. I find it a bit better in quality as far as wood, electronics, etc. than a Squier. I think the price ranges tell it the way it is. I have some Squiers too. Quality is a little hit and miss on them. The Fender at a bit more money has a great feeling neck. Electronics seem fine. I dont think a pickup replacement is necessary either. Depends on what you want. But the pickups that come in it are just fine. Seems a bit heavier than the Squiers. To me it just feels and sounds like better quality. I dont see why you would need to pay twice as much for a strat Professional. But there again the quality seems better again. Overall:What a joy to play. Ready once tuned right out of the box. Perfect balance, all day long tone, plays like butter. Deep dives with the locking tuners hold tune perfectly. Neck is incredibly smooth and has perfect intonation. No dead spots, no fret noises, no string miss pitch. All in all an absolutely wonderful guitar. I've waited forever for this guitar, and I haven't even mentioned the awesome _Tequila Sunrise finish. Fit and finish of this instrument is impeccable. I can go on and on but when it comes right down to it, this is the finest instrument I've ever played. I'll never own another Squire except for my very first one. Review of Fender Player II Stratocaster Rosewood Fingerboard 3-Color Sunburst
1 August 2024

I had an original player telecaster and this feels like a big upgrade. The rosewood fingerboard genuinely makes a big difference, it looks so much better. I had tonnes of issues with my original player, this is much better but I've dropped a star as there are some blemishes. What looks like glue marks visible next to the higher frets. Also the dots on top of fingerboard, some are the same colour as the satin neck, some are white. Minor things of course but noticeable. The important thing is it sounds great, and feels amazing to play. Anderton's team and delivery was superb.

Honestly feels no different to a Squire. The service I received from Anderson’s was appalling too.Guitar arrived 4 days late due to delivery driver not bothering to enter my building. Anderson’s wouldn’t even refund my “special delivery” extra cost I paid.Guitar arrived with signs of play, and when I sent them photos they just shrugged it off as “must of come out the factory like that”.When I buy a new guitar, I expect an unplayed new guitar without play marks.Guitar needs a full setup as intonation is out.Not what I expect from a Large scale company and a £700 guitar.Anderson’s did me a dirty on this one.

Overall:I was a fan of the Player I series because of the price & playability. But this Player II Series is even better. The rolled edges on the neck are fantastic. The modern C neck I have always liked very much. The new vintage tuners are smooth & great to look at. There are no negatives here in my opinion & these guitars are a home run & the perfect Strat. Well done Fender.

Overall:The color on this guitar is wonderful. However, the cost for what you get on this instrument is not good. First the good... of course the color is fun and unique and great to look at and the saddles on this guitar are perfect and wont tear up the furniture or your hands and lastly the locking tuners are great and keep the guitar in tune especially on those dive bombs. Now the bad...First and foremost, It has a modern C neck profile which is fine if you are a beginner but many of my musician friends hate them. It's sad, but lately the modern C or the deep C is the only neck Fender seems to wants to pump out. Every stage musician I know only uses a soft V, mid sixties C or an oval shape...but mostly a soft V. Secondly, the bridge has a zinc block which is just no good for sustain or sound transfer (steel is needed). Lastly, Fender noiseless pickups...to my ear and every musician I have ever met that played guitar (save Eric clapton)...just doesn't cut it. As far as what's left on the guitar it's all pretty common and relatively cheap to make or buy. The price on this guitar seems way to high, and for me to buy it just for the positive items I have already mentioned seems a waste. Honestly, after the neck replacement, the bridge and block replacement (not the saddles) and the pickup replacement, I would be out another six to eight hundred dollars just because I like the looks of this guitar. AHHHH...NO. I love Fender guitars but for the last two to three years there has not been one single new guitar that I would buy. PEACE
