Overall:I'll try to keep this short. The rounded fret ends and back-of-neck satin finish make this an incredibly smooth playing instrument. The Player Plus Vintage Noiseless Pickups differ from previous versions by using Alnico V magnets. I have a Deluxe Nashville Tele that came with the older Alnico II's, since replaced, and while they didn't sound bad, they had a distinct lack of testosterone. These new ones sparkle. Crank the gain and they sing. Position #2 (bridge and middle) is my favorite setting. Go listen to EC's playing on George Harrison's 1992 Live in Japan CD. I used to swear by the vintage style bent saddles but not no mo'. I titled this review "Almost Perfect" because this guitar IS almost perfect. Vintage Noiseless pickups come with 1 Meg pots and the taper on the volume knob takes some getting used to. There's a huge jump on volume between 8 and 10. That's my only knock.

Overall:Let me start by saying I have been playing guitar since 1975. So I do have some experience. This guitar is one of the best guitars I have ever played. I bought the 3 tone sunburst. I have previously owned Player Strats & have enjoyed them but found the quality slightly lacking(fret ends). This guitar bridges thst gap. Beautiful well made & great looking guitar. I do my own setups so on this model I did not have to fight with it at all. Very user friendly. Plays like high class guitar. Sounds very great too. This is my 2nd Player Plus Strat. Both are super guitars. I would not hesitate buying another. You should not either.

Love the chambered ash. Lightest and most resonant guitar I own. Nut was misaligned--had to replace. Otherwise, fit and finish, including fretwork--rolled edges, are terrific. Replaced the bridge and saddles with a Callaham vintage bridge, simply for aesthetic reasons as I'm not a fan of block saddles.

Overall:I’ve owed another Mexican Strat, also bought it from zZounds and like them both. However I have an issue with this one. The dots on the fingerboard are not centered and are partially on the neck. This makes them very hard to see when playing. It would really benefit from some neck binding contrasting with the color of the dot.
It came well packaged by Andersons & next day delivery which was great. Pro's and cons of my guitar- looks great, super smooth neck, the rolled fretboard is a great improvement over the Player 1 series ( I had a strat & the frets were a little sharp in places so had to have them smoothed out a tad), the pickups sound great & very tele sounding. The only disappointment was the nut - it had to be filed in 3 slots( the A, D, G strings were a bit high). Once that was done It became a great guitar. I gigged it last Saturday & was really pleased with it.
For context, I have an American made Strat from 2006 and a prs S2 custom 24-08 from last year. This made in Mexico player ii telecaster doesn’t feel out of place. It’s solid, sounds great, looks great, feels great! I did swap the black pickguard for a white one immediately, but that was just a preference thing. Very very VERY pleased 🙂
This is a very solid guitar in this price range. The neck truly feels comfortable as advertised. It plays well. The single coil tones are tight and punchy, pleasing when clean and satisfying when overdriven. The knobs and switch feel solid. Overall, it just feels sturdy and responsive. I'm sure higher priced models may have better hardware and other elements, but this one is fully worth its value. I'm very happy I got this one.
Let me start by saying I've owned both American Strats and American Tele's and I honestly think this guitar sound better in my opinion. It takes to high gain from my Orange 35RT amp better than my Strat. I plugged it into a Boss Heavy Metal pedal, and it sounds more like an ESP than a Fender. I actually have a hard time justifying my other guitars because this one sounds great playing anything! The rosewood is great, and the entire neck is fantastic with the rolled edges and the smooth back. You won't regret this guitar!
I've been playing guitar on and off for about 20 years and I wish I just started with a tele like this. It's easy to play, easy to adjust, and easy to find the tone you're looking for for any genre. With that said, I honestly could say how this could be better. Maybe lighter? It's heavy for sure and I did have to adjust the neck placement out of the box but the neck and frets feel amazing. Tone is whatever you want it to be. Quality is amazing. I could tell you what guitar is better in this price range.

First the good... of course the color is fun and unique and great to look at and the saddles on this guitar are perfect and wont tear up the furniture or your hands and lastly the locking tuners are great and keep the guitar in tune especially on those dive bombs. Now the bad...First and foremost, It has a modern C neck profile which is fine if you are a beginner but many of my musician friends hate them. It's sad, but lately the modern C or the deep C is the only neck Fender seems to wants to pump out. Every stage musician I know only uses a soft V, mid sixties C or an oval shape...but mostly a soft V. Honestly, after the neck replacement, the bridge and block replacement (not the saddles) and the pickup replacement, I would be out another six to eight hundred dollars just because I like the looks of this guitar. AHHHH...NO. I love Fender guitars but for the last two to three years there has not been one single new guitar that I would buy. PEACE
