I had an original mid 70's mocha strat that I purchased new in 1975. I sold it and have regretted it only once, and that has been continuously. Through the years, I have been waiting endlessly for Fender to reissue this color. I even wrote fender some years ago asking them to bring back the mocha strat. Not only did they do that, they brought back the very guitar I previously owned: maple neck, black pickguard, white p/u covers, knobs, the whole nine yards. When I saw this thing, I was elated. I never dropped a grand so fast in my life. The workmanship, fit and finish on this strat is fantastic. it really surpasses the original I once had. Fender guitar manufacturing techniques have changed a lot since the 70's. This is a fine guitar by anybody's standards. The pickups are set low to the pickguard. This gives the guitar a thinner sound reminiscent of 70's strats. If you raise the pickups, they fatten right up. I really like the sound of them. I have been playing for 47 years and I collect instruments. This is an excellent buy in my opinion. I really enjoy the one I have and I am sure you will as well should you decide to pull the trigger on this little beauty.
