A very easy light to use, on off and brightness adjust simple as is the colour temperature. Plenty bright enough for indoor and outdoor use. Mode change is also simple. Quality is great , and well built. Also a threaded hole for tripod mount. Love it. Recommend.

I bought this lantern to try and use on our sailboat. We live on it for most of the summer. It’s 32’ so I don’t have a lot of room for solar; we like to conserve house battery power and save it for the refrigeration and anchor light. This lantern has worked well over the 2 weeks I’ve had it. In our use (level of brightness and tint) I end up charging it every 4 or 5 days. I may charge more than I need to; when I see it get to 2 LEDs I’ll plug it in. I could probably run another evening or two depending on how many games of cribbage we play.My likes: rotary switches/potentiometers allowing complete smooth control of both output level and tint! Sweet! I can match the lighting to the warmth of our oil lamps, or alter it as needed for photography or repair work. This ... MoreI bought this lantern to try and use on our sailboat. Sweet! I can match the lighting to the warmth of our oil lamps, or alter it as needed for photography or repair work. This is really awesome. It also has strong magnets and a handle. My dislikes, or areas of possible improvement: the rubber plug over the charging port has been very difficult to put back in and seat properly. If it’s not seated well, the handle will not swing to its home position easily. The first time I took it to the boat, I put it in a duffle bag with clothes and other supplies. When I got to the boat and unpacked, the red LED was on. As far as I know there isn’t a lockout for that button, but if one unscrews the battery cover 1/2 turn that works to lock out everything. My last nitpick is regarding the ability to adjust the angle of the light and have it stay where I put it when it’s affixed to an overhead surface by the magnet. I mount it this way in our boat, and when I attempt to have it shine down on the table, the balance point of the lantern body wants it to tilt it back towards vertical. I may be able to shim in between the body and the handle to add more friction, but it hasn’t been a big enough issue for me to try it yet.All in all I am very pleased with the light, especially because of the main beam features and controls. I also like the runtime; to be honest this light is capable of putting out way more light that I need in the boat. I’m sure it would be handy if camping ashore. I’d say this is a win for me; no regrets!

It’s a great little lantern. Only thing I would point out in darkness I had difficulty finding the top controls. I kept fumbling with it, asking myself “is this the on/off knob?”. Maybe my eyes didn’t have time from bright light to darkness to adjust. Other than that it’s a quality little lantern

I'm blown away by this lantern. I own several Fenix lights and this is by far the coolest one in my arsenal now. It's way smaller than I thought it would be allowing me to throw it in my bag for work. The ability to change between warm and cool light or a combination of both with the turn of a rotary switch is an amazing feature as well. Really looking forward to putting this to work on my next gig. Don't think about it anymore just buy it you won't regret it.
This lantern is pretty damn impressive. The features work perfectly. The removable battery is exactly what every light should have. I love the warm tint/cool tint adjustment. I also love the knobs. My only gripe is the red light. They could’ve made that so much better:brighter, more function etc. but I didn’t get this expecting the red to be the draw. The temp changing and brightness changing settings are why we are all here right now and they work wonderfully. However, more power/brightness never hurt anyone and I hope to see this expanded on in future releases.
This is a nice upgrade from the CL28R which has a built-in battery. I love being able to access the 21700 battery and swap it with fresh backups. Just need a coin or the plastic coin provided to twist the battery cover open. The magnet is strong and handy for hanging or side mounting. I love choosing the tint or a mixture, and especially like the TIR optic option for using the spotlight feature. You can even use the spotlight at the same time as the other led’s. Super cool product. Perfect for my emergency lighting crash kit at work. Perfect for anyone to use as it’s very simple to operate. I have 4 CL28R at work and I’ll add a couple of these to the inventory too.
Nice utility torch! Nice design and functionality. The features it offers are plenty cool. The option to change the hue is next level along with the ease to adjust brightness level. Floodlight/spot light options is handy. Bought a mini tripod to mount it on. Looks way cool! Maybe it’s just the kid in me but this tool is a must if you’re a flashlight nerd! 👍👍
Very good build quality. Love the separate knobs for light intensity and color. Replaceable battery a big plus though the battery compartment cap is a little cumbersome to get threaded correctly using a coin.I would have preferred a knob for the battery compartment though that would require changing the handle length. This is a pretty small issue. This light may well end up in my car to use in emergencies.I have a CL26R lantern that I always take on my travels - the red light provides handy night time assistance.Fenix lights tend to be a bit pricey, but this one is well worth it given it's versatility. The CL27R is an unusual little lantern, and a great one. It is very bright, and the adjustable "cool white-warm white" feature is really nice. The handle is the best thing - easy to carry but the built in magnet is a dream so I can stick it to metal surfaces. Thanks Fenix.
Love this thing already. Only had it for a couple weeks and have been using it as a bedside reading light on warm white in between camping trips. A bonus it can go through the washing machine on a deep water cycle and it will still work. This is my 5th fenix light. Awesome company!!
