I’ve been using Vera for years and the improvement with this controller is night and day, no more manual polling when devices stop responding and hours of looking through forums for workarounds.I would agree with other reviews that the Fibaro support is, well, pants ! But for me 99% of devices have just worked and not missed a beat. I hope the bugs and features that are built in but not available yet are soon sorted but I love my new controller.

Wow! Stark contrast in quality and performance compared to one other that I do have. Solid. Think drag and drop lego blocks for your rules (or what kids learn - Scratch). I also get to learn the Lua language for more complex rules. Great so far and I hope it stays this way!

In general the user interface and setup process went very well, I cannot fault it. My issue was around advertised functionality versus reality. HC3 is said to have inbuilt Zigbee functionality, which is currently incorrect, also, the RF 433, although in the hardware, is not supported by the current OS. There are other issues as well in relation to the iOS application and the integration with Phillips Hue, which even though is shown on the application as being supported, they are not. You can use Alexa or similar to change the status, but not the app. Apart from that, I love it. With the latest OS update they introduced temperature charts, which I love. Brought this because I was fed up with aeotec z stick having problems with both Home assistant and openHab running on a Raspberry Pi 4. Was expecting an easier life, BUT I think HC3 is not ready for the market yet, Lots of functionality missing ref HC2. Real shame IMHO. Some fuctionality is up and running. Good job I have 40 years experience of interfacing hardware and software...
I’m upgrading from a Home Center 2 and the new hardware is certainly more powerful, quicker and uses more up to date Zwave with far better range. However at time of writing you are an early adopter, there is still lots for Fibaro to do improve the software. I prefer the new interface. The quick apps concept works really well, Under the hood there are options to seriously expand its capabilities, such as ZigBee built in. However at the moment, its great for standard ZWave devices and normal functionality, but if your needs are even slightly more challenging, be prepared to put more work in. A HC3 is a device that should last for years, and I have bet on it becoming increasingly useful as Fibaro and the community around the HC3 expands its capabilities and ease of use.
I have had HC3 for about two years now. I was one of the first to buy it I guess, and I had hoped that Fibaro would work to make the product more mature. I must say that I am disappointed on this point. The Fibaro team gives the impression that development has been deprioritized since they have been acquired by Nice group. I particularly dislike the iPhone app. It is takes ages to open, is messy, and doesn’t allow adding Philips Hue lights as favorites. There is no iPad app. I am also disappointed that there still no support for Zigbee. Device compatibility is worse than my old Vera Edge. On the positive side, the system is fast (even with more than 200 devices) and the Fibaro team has always been fast in providing support.

(Usually within 24 hours)” this is a joke, more like 3-4 weeks and generally they don’t respond at all unless you telephone them. Tickets are closed without being resolved with as message such as “We're aware of this issue and we've already forwarded it to our engineers, who are currently working on resolving it as soon as possible. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience it caused but I have to ask you for a little more patience”After getting on for a year from launch there is still no time frame for enabling the RF / Zigbee / WiFiThe HC3 is still "work in progress"
Having been a long time user of the HC2 I decided to upgrade to the new HC3 based on its new features and assuming that HC2 would no longer get updates. The migration process for devices worked OK but you have to re create all of your scenes. The zigbee and BLE radios are not enabled yet but I knew that was the case. I can't seem to get Alexa to work, this worked reasonably well on the HC3. The new case is much smaller and plastic, it doesn't feel like ÂŁ500 worth of product. The interface is OK and it is nice and fast. I just hope the updates roll out a bit faster than they did on HC2
I cut my home automation teeth with a Vera unit, moved to Indigo software because it gave me more flexibility and control.then I took delivery of my shiny new home centre 3, and wow so far this unit is good, it's stable, intuitive and very fast, a pleasure to use!so in summary, after a week or so setting up stuff I'm a very happy bunny, ok price could best be described as 'considered' if I'd known what I know now when I started, I feel sure I would have opted for one of these years ago (ok home centre 2 at the time) it would have saved workarounds, frustration and of course the cost of two units which simply not as good as this one.I very rarely write reviews but feel this unit deserves one
