Field Guide to The Birds of Australia - 8th Edition by Nicolas Day

Simpson and Day's Field Guide to the Birds of Australia is the best guide out of the 3 I've used in my lifetime. It has the location, habitat, female, male, and immature plumage, and contains native, introduced and vagrant bird species. It contains the bird's conservation rating, and includes their nesting times and locations throughout Australia. Even when you're not out in the field, it's still fun to look at the amazing illustrations- one or more for every bird this book contains. The ease of use and identification makes it suitable for all ages. This is a book which can encourage kids to learn independently and may spark a lifelong hobby. This is the best book I have used to help me find, identify and later research any Australian bird I may come across.

If you are a Birdo then this is the book for you. Take it and your viewing device wherever you go. Colour plates make identification easy and maps give an accurate idea of location.

It is an excellent reference for identifying Australian birds. It shows where these birds are found in Australia, and identifies the markings and other important information. Excellent for wildlife artists or bird lovers.
