A solidly built, versatile and very capable dac/amp. It has balanced XLR4 and 4.4mm, and 1/4" SE headphone connections, as well as balanced XLR LO and preamp outs If you don't need built in EQ (the K9 has it, via app, only for the BT) or a fancy screen then this is a good value option and deserves serious consideration.

Brilliant sound and easy to manage. Adapts easily to different cables (and has balanced input) plus XLR outputs at the back of the unit (a little bit inconvenient). Another minor quibble is that the toggles switches are very small. But this is minor. All in all, an extremely good unit for its price.

The 2024 Fiio K9 AKM is a superb sounding and functioning dac/preamplifier. This is a worthwhile upgrade over my previous Fiio K7 and does not suffer from the volume control issues that plague it's little brother. No sudden jarring increase in volume with a minor turn of the volume knob like I experienced with the K7. As far as the dac implementation, sure I would liked to have seen a dual AK4499EX dac implementation in this unit.
