At age 77, I decided it was time to really learn how to swim. I had never taken lessons in my life, just "kind of" swam. Breathing was difficult to master so decided on a snorkel and add breathing later. The free style snorkel got my attention as it is free style I want to master. My first attempts were not good, top section was too close to the water and kept dipping down as I swam. So, studied the design and my head shape. Decided that the top was low as I have a long face. So, I cut a 30 degree notch out of the last bend and glued it back together using the cut out piece as reinforcement on the inside. Tried it again and it works perfectly.

I tried this today swimming laps. It filled with water almost every lap. I have been swimming free style laps using other snorkels in the past, and this is the absolute worst. I could not clear it even blowing as hard as a could. I could not swim fast or slow enough to stop the water leaking into my air tube. Very poor design or there is a secret to using this that I could not find. I am returning it and I am disappointed in the Finis company for offering this design.

Used this for the first time to swim laps at the indoor pool today. I swam several laps with the snorkel and then took it off and swam without it. I noticed the results immediately! My position and balance were noticeably improved when I started breathing side to side. I couldn't believe how much better I felt and realized with a more efficient position I could go faster and did not work as hard. Using the snorkel kept me balanced and my head down and I was able to carry over the positioniing when not using the snorkel. Love it!

This is perfect for my 10yo daughter using a snorkel for the first time. She tried the adult finis however had a bit of trouble at times purging the water out of the tube as the adult version is longer. She probably could get used the to the adult one over time but this is so much better. The only thing I would change is the head strap. We also have another popular brand snorkel for my 12yo which has a rotating clip allowing you to twist the snorkel off your face when you stop between sets.

You can use the logo lettering to figure out the correct orientation of the bracket.The straps can be loosened or tightened but the durability of the plastic tabs holding the straps seem suspect. I ended up loosening the straps a lot as they brackets were so tight it gave me a headache. It was still somewhat uncomfortable but not as bad.So far, I’ve only used it once. I was worried that the snorkel would be too loose, but when I tried it in the water the fit was perfect! It stayed in place for both front crawl and breast stroke. I had disc\s in my neck replaced that restrict my movement. I am turning 60 and now it is hard for me to run or even jog. This snorkel enables me to swim laps without turning my head side to side. No impact exercise with no pain. I couldn\t be happier.Quality product, well made, stays in place and easy to use. I thought at first the tube in the center would be annoying but I don\t even notice it.I highly recommend this to anyone with a neck injury or anyone who is getting older and can\t take the impact of running sports anymore.

I chose the FINIS Swimmers Snorkel because it doesn't stick out over the side of my head but it goes directly back over the middle of my head. The breathing tube is wider than some, so you can get plenty of air. The mouth piece is comfortable. The only thing I don't like about it is the brace that goes on your forehead; after a few minutes it hurts because it's not soft. I am about to try putting something soft over that to make it more comfortable. All things considered, I would highly recommend this snorkel. Swim teams use this same snorkel. It comes in pink and yellow and I chose pink because it reminds me of my support for cancer prevention with the pink ribbon.

The product is going very well. I do not give it 5 stars because the material of the mouthpiece is very hard and it bothers me a lot. I have used other tubes and the material of the mouthpiece is much smoother and fits better. If I find another one with that shape, without a valve, and with the softest material nozzle, I will change it. This is torture for me.
