Fire Emblem: Three Houses (Switch)

I love this game so much that I have spent over 200 hours on it at this point and have completed 2 routes. It is an amazing strategy game, but I do feel the overworld section with the monastery does drag on a bit long at times. I often wish I could go straight into battles, but spending time in the overworld is important to stat and relationship building. I still highly recommend this game!

One of the best FE games so far. I love it! I got so obsessed that I finished the story super fast even though it did take time. I loved the storytelling, the character design, the fighting and socializing aspect of Fire Emblem. I always recommend FE games to anyone because that’s just how good the game is in general.

Great Fire Emblem game in terms of gameplay and novelty, but the length is somewhat disappointing. No offsprings, a meh love confession, it felt to me like the game stopped in the middle! No relevant DLC quests either! No possibility to create your own couples for the other characters. All these things that made the DS Fire Emblem cool aren't present.Even the side characters aren't nearly as interesting as the ones from the previous games, except for the three leaders. Also, so many important questions left unanswered!This game could've been the best yet had the elements from previous titles been there in addition to the new ones, but it's just a cool game that isn't particularly memorable. Nonetheless, I enjoyed playing it, so it deserves a 7/10.

Fun gameplay loop. Lose hours or just play on commute

Awesome game. Logged 200 hours in it just because I liked it that much. You can spend as much time or as little time beating the campaign but there's 4 different campaigns and the second+ time playing through is easier because of new game+. Can be enjoyed by all. This is the best Fire Emblem as far as character writing is concerned. The primary gameplay loop is explore monastery/minigames, develop characters, fight enemies on tactical map (reminiscent of chess). You do not need to play any other Fire Emblem (story is standalone). For first time playing I suggest reading the tutorial/guide popups. Mechanics are slightly different from past games.

I love the game, and love the limited edition too!

I love this game, it’s really well made. The characters are lovable, and the story plot is well thought out too. There’s so much to do in this game! I’ve spent a lot of hours into this game, and I still have two more houses to choose from! This limited edition is really neat to have. The steel book case looks really nice, the art book is a hardcover, the CD includes 33 soundtrack from the game, and the calendar is really cute and offers game artwork from the game. In the game you spend your days through each month, and they put the calendar design from the game onto the actual calendar itself! It’s a really nice detail for them to put in. As well, the outer box that holds everything is really pretty too. The Fire Emblem logo is in this nice shiny gold, and ... MoreI love this game, it’s really well made. It's Fire Emblem, alright

Gameplay: Classic Fire Emblem. The school segments are a good chance to get to know the characters better, marred slightly by a hugely oversized hub world and repetitive nature of the activities (though I admit, I did really enjoy fishing.) The new gambit system is somewhat gimmicky, but can come in clutch in late game. The crest system seems somewhat pointless, but I'm sure it can come in handy, too. The story can take permutations based on the choices you make, but I found it pretty lacking, in the end. Like with Awakening, the real enjoyment is to be found in the character interactions. Byleth (the protagonist,) really has their own character, and that should be kept in mind when trying to roleplay.

More Replay Value

There are various activities to participate around the academy but feels like it could have been better developed in terms of controls or added benefits. The unit reclassing can be a bit overwhelming at first too but opens any posibility to class your units anyway you want with plus and cons. The story is a bit confusing even thought Im on chapter 4 or 5 only. The replay value of this game is the biggest plus here! The difficulty level is completely up to you. You can play super-hard and have perma-death on your characters, or you can play on casual and have any dead characters mercifully revived in the next mission.The story is so well written, and the in-game animation during the "exploration" days in the monastery is utterly beautiful. There are so many things to do during exploration too, so it's not just a tactical turned-base game. This is hands-down the most unique, most beautiful game (characters especially) and character-driven Fire Emblem of all Fire Emblems. I cannot recommend enough of this game. It really caught me unaware how the game never grows old despite multiple playthroughs, because it feels different in each playthrough.I highly recommend this - well worth the money paid for both the main game and the DLC.
