I only had this fridge for 3 weeks when it started making a high pitched noise that just wouldn't stop. It was some kind of alarm. This was the beginning of my 11 days of misery just before Christmas in 2019. I was told by Appliances Online customer service that after trying several things to stop the noise, there was nothing they could do and I should buy some earplugs to deal with the noise until Fischer and Paykel could repair it. What? Repair it? This is a $1800 fridge that was 3 weeks old and it couldn't be replaced? To sum this up, I waited 11 days to get it fixed. During that time I worked out how to turn off the noise, then THE FRIDGE STARTED HEATING INSTEAD OF COOING spoiling all my food. When Fischer and Paykel came to fix it they said it was the fridge fan, no it was the freezer fan, no hang on its the control panel wire that is sensitive and sets off the alarm. Yes they eventually fixed it but Appliances Online were no help getting Fischer and Paykel to replace the item, not sure they even asked AND DID YOU KNOW THERE IS A TIME LIMIT TO REPLACE FAULTY ITEMS OF 2 WEEKS. Doesn't sound right does it? Overall not impressed with the services from either Appliances Online (who have staff that laugh at you and refuse to let you speak to a manager) or the Fischer and Paykel staff (who didn't seem to know what the problem was). It's been almost 4 weeks now and the fridge is still working, fingers crossed. Don't think I will buy this brand or from this company again.

Bumpy start and worth noting that the first fridge was delivered in May in Brisbane not exactly hot weather.First fridge could not get down to the F&P recommended 4C. On the factory default setting of 6 lights (midpoint) it got to 6.1C at the coldest. Changing the setting to the coldest setting of 1 light dropped it to 4.5C. The freezer could get to only -17C at the factory setting and -19C on the coldest setting. This would NOT handle a Brisbane summer.Reported to The Good Guys who logged a complaint with F&P. It took 4 days for them to make contact to arrange for a technician to visit another 8 days later just as well the fridge was sort of working.Technician couldnt find a fault and after a few calls they agreed to replace the fridge. Except that they didnt have stock. It took another 31 days for them to get stock (again just as well it was sort of working), and they delivered the new fridge the next day.The second fridge is MUCH better and gets to the recommended 3C on 5 lights (1 colder than the factory setting) and the freezer is fine at 19C at the factory setting of 6 lights. The only temperature issue I have still is the water dispenser. For those who think that it will dispense cold fridge water, prepare to be disappointed. The coldest I have seen is 11 and generally around 13C (not exactly fridge-water temperatures), and that is only for the first 600ml, then it slowly goes up to room temperature by 1.4 litres.Overall the fridge is good. Nicely made and finished, good shelf adjustment, pretty quiet, the handles, shelves, door shelves etc seem to be quite solid and good quality compared to several others we looked at. No problems with dents on the doors (unlike some other reviews), but I havent tried bashing them either. The ice maker works OK, but it is a bit slow. The negatives (apart from the first fridge just not cooling properly) would include the warm water from the dispenser, the lack of a $1 egg tray (I kept and modified the old fridges tray to fit) and the drawer runners (both fridge & particularly freezer) can be quite rough and noisy. The first fridge seemed to be worse for this than the second one. The freezer main drawer is a bit deep, so it can be like a mini chest freezer digging for things.

I love the smart styling of the fridge in sleek silver steel. The shelving is adjustable and it comes with bottle rests which are handy. The icemaker works well and as we use a lot of ice is a great time saver. My only dislike is the water outlet in the door. It works very well but the water is not chilled after the first glass. It seems that only the water in the tubing in the fridge gets cold while the rest comes from the tap. I am happy with the fridge but we still have to keep cold water in the fridge.

The narrow doors make movement in our kitchen easier however there is a noticable loss of door storage space because of them. Overall it feels like it has less usable capacity than the one it replaced which was the single door version of the same. Both doors need to be opened to get the vegie drawers open and if you open the right door first then go to open the left as well, I always find myself pulling on the middle door seal instead of the handle and it wont open that way. The water dispenser and ice maker work well but the freezer drawer doesnt inspire confidence, I will see how it lasts but it isnt super smooth and doesnt feel solidly made.
I have now had this fridge for 5 1/5 yrs. The first thing i noted is that the fridge compartment had to be set to the minimum setting to have beer cold enough so am concerned about power usage. Second thing, the little flimsy magnetic seals at the top and bottom of the french doors stopped sealing about 3 yrs ago so on humid days condensation pools inside the fridge displaying that it is not sealed. Third thing is the ice maker / dispenser stopped working about 3 yrs ago after some bits dropped out into the ice catcher. At this stage i got the "authorised" F&P agent around to take a look. He may as well have been looking at the Tardis cause he had no idea how to fix the ice maker, thought i'd added the magnetic strips which were now no longer sealing the French ... MoreI have now had this fridge for 5 1/5 yrs. He may as well have been looking at the Tardis cause he had no idea how to fix the ice maker, thought i'd added the magnetic strips which were now no longer sealing the French doors and said if having it set it to minimum got it cold enough then so be it. Now all the doors (freezer draw included) have lost their ability to close assist. This feature worked well when new. I have looked around for another fridge with the same dimensions and features but unfortunately this one seems to be the only one that fits the bill.
Very happy with fridge so far. Fits into space well. Plenty of room in fridge. Ice in the freezer drawer is quite ok as I previously had an ice and water dispenser but don't miss it. Just note that even though it said installation included that they wouldn't connect the water tap. It was a bit time consuming.
We bought this fridge two weeks ago as our smaller old fridge of 19 years (finally :)) died over the long weekend. I am so glad I paid a little extra for the additional features such as the auto ice maker and the filtered water dispenser. Now I don't have to continually find no ice and an empty ice tray in the freezer or fill up our filtered water jug at least twice a day as it was always left empty also (first world problems I know but I am so happy!). The wide shelves provide plenty of room and the quality of the sturdy plastic shelves is great, as the cheaper model that I eyed at a store may not have lasted too well long term. Our fruit and veg last a lot longer too which is great. Our fruit and veg last a lot longer too which is great. I love all the space in the deep drawer freezer and the pull out top freezer drawer is deeper than it looks so holds more than expected. I was even amused at how my hubby came to bed after a few days of owning, commenting how much he liked the fridge and all its features - accessing filtered water without needing to open the door, ice maker, good size, likes the French doors etc (usually he couldn't care less about white good purchases). My only little niggle is getting used to French doors. I would prefer the fruit/veg drawer to be split into two instead of just the one, as both doors have to be opened to access/open the drawer. Also, finger marks come off very easy with a dry cloth. The delivery guys were great also, they came when they said they would and were very friendly. They took away our old fridge and all the packaging. All in all, my whole family love this fridge, no buyers remorse at all, very happy owners!
When opening the doors of the fridge, everything is so visible. Nothing is hiding in the back of the fridge you dont know about. The water is cold once we adjusted the thermostat in it and the ice blocks box is great. Full container of ice that refills when its getting low due to the sensor in it. Great family fridge, drawer comes out easily in the bottom and you can see everything you have very easily.
Faulty design. Do not buy! Brought this fridge in October. Went on a holiday and the power tripped for whatever reason. This fridge leaked water all over the place and my whole kitchen floor and skirting has been destroyed. We have two more older style fridges inside the house and there were no problems with them. Faulty design as the holding tray at the bottom is not enough to hold the moisture and water inside the fridge in case of a power failure. If you have this fridge, put sheets all around it before you go on a long holiday.
Maintains temperatures very well with high use. Ice maker works great. F&P could do a bit more design refinement for access to the ice bin. It comes with a very thoughtful ice scoop which is difficult (not impossible) to access unless you also open one of the fridge doors. I am being fussy on this as I expect better form F&P with their normally very good ergonomics. Cold water is cool but not icey cold which I have since been advised is normal for a water dispensing fridge regardless of the manufacturer which I guess is fair if you are drinking it direct form the glass. The 2 doors are narrow which I understand is a function of the fridge size not design or build. I need the French doors for a fridge this size as I have a narrow kitchen so this is a good design for me. However, in this size range if the space permits I would consider a single door as unless it is soothing in the door pocket that is required (the door pockets are really good and actually hold a lot) then 75% of the time both doors end up being opened anyway due to the narrow opening one door creates.
