What an amazing tool! Love the lightweight, strong, compact features of this lopper. I was able to cut weeds, brush, and small limbs with this with ease. Pleased it is endorsed by the Arthritis Foundation and wish I could give it 6 stars. Agree that there are limits mentioned by another reviewer, but wow, it is amazing!

This is one of my favorite garden tools. It does a great job, is extremely durable, and the size is very handy. Although the anvil and gearing is a resin, I've been amazed with the material this thing will cut. Furthermore, I have severe arthritis in my wrists and the gearing makes cuts much easier. In fact, these have been recognized by the Arthritis Association. I did, however, break it when cutting up some honey locust branches, which is an extremely hard wood., True to their word, Fiskars came through and honored their lifetime warranty. All I had to do was fill out a short online form and upload a photo of the broken lopper I took with my iPhone. In a short time, a new lopper arrived at my home. Thank you, Fiskars.

This is a great product but it has its limits. Just because the branch fits in the jaws doesn’t mean it can cut it. I broke the plastic jaw off our first pair thinking this way. It is a very strong good quality tool but know it’s limits. If the branch isn’t cutting easily you are likely reaching the limit. Forcing it will cause the plastic jaw to snap off. This happens with no warning at all. I returned the cutter to Lowes and it was replaced free of charge. Even though the first cutter failed we liked it so much we replaced it and bought a second one.

Light-weight, nice working length handles, and easy to use/not fatiguing. The cutting blade is metal. The rest of the tool is a composite material (some describe in their reviews as plastic). With the excellent mechanical advantage when cutting, user needs to be aware that the opposing jaw is not made of metal and not to get too over zealous in cutting branches too large in diameter for jaw opening. I cut shrub branches up to 1 1/2" in diameter without compromising the integrity of the tool. Anything branch/limb larger in diameter I would use a more robust cutting tool. (Always remember! The right tool for the right job) This tool works perfectly for my application in maintaining bushes/scrubs on a private residence. Hope this review helps!
I didn’t have high hopes looking at these plastic pruners, but given my great experience with other Fiskars items, I wanted to try them. I was taking out five large (overgrown) yew bushes in my front yard. What would have been a multi-weekend job was done in a few hours. I just need to saw down the larger trunks. It easily handled one inch plus branches without much effort. My hands are not nearly as sore as when I use my other metal pruner either. I would definitely purchase again - even if it broke tomorrow - as it performed flawlessly and saved me so much time.
Second one I have bought. Light weight and works great. Had fungus on roses so after used other pair had to disinfect and let sit fir awhile, so got this one to continue yard work.
I had been using a small hand pruner and a large bypass lopper for most pruning jobs, and this anvil lopper is a great addition to that set. It cuts up to 1-1/4" diameter but it's very light and compact. I have arthritis in my hands and I appreciate that it's both powerful and light. Last year I bought a house with large, long-neglected yard that has a lot of buckthorn. This lopper has been invaluable!
The Power Gear lopping shears are much easier to use than traditional lopping shears. It takes much less strength to cut through the same sized branch, and there’s no tendency for twisting. They are a pleasure to use.
These are a must have for trimming bushes and small tree branches. I cannot recommend these enough! Very easy to use with minimal strength needed. I got these at a great price compared to other local big name stores and I have purchased multiple pairs for other family members. I also have several other fiskars products and love them all!
Disabling injury has impaired my grasp in both hands. Im capable of some pruning tasks with these where I failed with standard Felco bypass-style hand pruners. I intend to refrain from overtaxing these on thicker (e.g. 1/2 & up deadwood) stuff to extend the life of these cutters. I suspect the absence of all-metal cutting components will be the weakness that others experience in time with heavy use.
