Redefining Fizik’s identity, the Tempo R5 Overcurve Road Cycling Shoes are perfect regardless of whether you ride competitively or simply love the thrill of a day in the saddle. They are quick fitting to get you on the road faster and their form-fitting construction works around the foot to offer endless comfort no matter how long your session lasts. Overcurve Construction When it comes to on-bike performance there are few that can argue with the R5’s reputation. An instant road classic, they sport the famous Overcurve construction that uses a staggered collar to wrap around the ankle. This traces the natural misalignment of the two bony protrusions in the lateral and medial malleoli. Offering riders an asymmetrical shape, the shoe curves over the foot to wrap it like a present and guides all the way from the outside to the inner for one of the cosiest fits yet. Boa IP1-B Fitting System A comfortable foot is a happy foot and in order to get the perfect fit, Fizik uses the Boa IP1-B dial system. The micro-adjustable BOA IP1 dial is quick and simple to twist ensuring you get the fit to your liking and providing customisable comfort. Working in tandem with a lower strap to fine-tune your fit, riding in endless comfort and stability ensures you feel as good as the shoes look. R5 Nylon Composite Outsole When it comes to efficient power transfer and a stiff pedalling platform, the R5s don't disappoint. The R5 Nylon composite outsole is capable of delivering explosive power transfers, and yet it's also tuned for comfort too - from sprint efforts to long mileage rides it provides the ideal balance for all your rides. With the Tempo Overcurve R5 you have one road shoe capable of opening up a world of endless possibilities. See you on the road.

This is my first cycling shoe with a BOA enclosure. The shoe is comfortable and the BOA does an excellent job of securing your foot in the shoe. The strap at the front of the shoe is kind of superfluous. I would have given this shoe five stars, but the durability is a question mark for me. I had a pretty rough crash, and well, the shoe did not fare too well. It's still serviceable, but the upper was very easily abraded by the asphalt, and there was a rather big gouge taken out of the weld/midsole of the shoe. Regardless, you're probably not a dumb dumb like me, so more often than not it will perform well, and the price is right.

Ок, I'm from Russia and my English isn't a good part of my life. First, I got what I really wanted: mid price, low weight, narrow fit, white color. First ride with fizik I felt shoes too tight but today they are good even with custom insole. And of course boa can make a problem in long perspective so it's a best way to have additional boa in reserve. Thanks.

Had the shoes around 4 weeks now and have completed around 400 miles, so early days. I was concerned when ordering about size, however I am a size 9 U.K. every time and went for 43.5 (9 1/4 apparently). Shoes fit perfectly which saved any repacking and sending back. Shoes are not as soft uppers of last pair (specialized) however I had them years and cannot remember how the felt first months. I’m convinced they will soften up. Very comfy and seem solid enough soles although I’m no expert in this. Overall Very happy with shoes all round and the fit is spot on.

Great shoes and service from Sigma

Never had Fizik stuff before so want sure about fit.I sit between UK 12-13 so went for the EU 48.They fit perfectly, seem like a standard width, not too narrow.I've had trouble with narrow cycling shoes but these are great. The quality of the finish is fantastic.Nice and stiff sole. The Boa closing system is brilliant and gives a nice snug fit.Great price and fast delivery from Sigma.

Great shoes!
22 April 2019

My previous Pearl Izumi shoes BOA cable had snapped so it was time for a replacement. With a budget of around £100 I scoured Wiggle, CRC, Merlin cycles etc or the best shoe. I am happy i have chosen the Fizik R5 Tempo Overcurve Road shoe due to its stiff sole, comfortable feel, light design, and effective BOA tightening system (much better than my previous Pearl Izumi Elite RD IV).My only issue came in the sizing of this product. Fiziks' own website showed a sizing chart which was totally inaccurate. My previous shoe size was a 47 however the sizing chart recommended me a 43. The Sigma sport sales team were equally confused so i bought a 45.5, 46 and a 47. Of which the 46 fit me well.

Look into Sizing guide for Fizik

An awesome entry level shoe. Don't buy your Normal trainer size though! As normal with cycling shoes I guess the sizes are tricky with different companies.Best bet is to measure your foot in MMs , I was surprised that I needed 41 euro! Bikeinn's shoe size recommendation tool is handy if you know a certain make size that fits youFizik are known to be narrow and tight though, so the wide shoes models might be a safe bet unless u don't have extra narrow/small feet

Not fit for purpose.
13 August 2020

I ordered these shoes one month ago today, looking at my Paypal invoice. They are wearing extremely quickly even though the cleats are set up in a way that the shoes are furthest away from the crank as possible, also my feet ride straight so this is not about the set up.These are either faulty or simply very poor quality. Unsure why I’ve been asked to write a review when I have emailed asking to return them, but I have not received a response. Worth noting the left foot is badly worn but the right is OK. My old Scott shoes lasted a lot longer and was a similar price, I only replaced them as the lace on the BOA came untied.Try a different brand and avoid these shoes.Pro’s they are light and look smart when new! also, priced £15 cheaper than RRP on this site.

Positive so far after a month...
5 February 2021

I bought these shoes about a month ago and they've been good so far. The material does scuff quite easily so I'm being fairly careful with them; however, once the overshoes have been put away for summer, I imagine they'll look messy fairly quickly. They are fairly stiff and the Boa system is great. Initially, I had a little hot spot on the top of my right foot where one of the eyelets for the boa lace goes through. It seems to have eased as the shoes have softened up a bit. They've certainly softened over the four weeks.

Really Comfortable Shoes & Great Customer Service!
9 July 2020

So I was really confused by the various sizes claims from other customer reviews I had to try 3 pairs in the end. Initially ordering 2 and returning the both for the 3rd pair. Returns were no hassle whatsoever and communications from Sigma Sports was spot on. The shoes themselves, the measurement guide is accurate with respect to length, it's the width that's the ambiguous aspect. As I've got slightly wider feet, I settled up on a full one size up from the recommended sufficed for me. The sole is curved to support your arches so no need for an alternative footbed. The dial is superb, no more shoe slipping up and down at the heel, very secure fitting! I ordered the Gun Metal which is a cracking colour. All in all really pleased with the whole purchasing experience ... MoreSo I was really confused by the various sizes claims from other customer reviews I had to try 3 pairs in the end. Solid shoe for a great price
21 June 2019

Getting into road biking, after 10 or so years of MTB. These shoes have a great BOA design system, that I would strongly recommend for the ability to adjust your shoe tightness while riding. It's way easier to cinch them up, then take a couple pedals to let your heel slide back in snug, then tighten then a few clicks. As opposed to using the cheaper strap model where you would be having to get them 100% right before you click in. Shoes are well made, comfortable, cant speak too much to breathabilty as I have been commuting with these in the 70 degree range but no complaints. I wear a size 12 US for tennis shoes, I got these in a 48 and they have a little room in the toe more than I need.
