This jacket is warm and has the most features compared to the other brands at the same price-point. I like being able to cinch the waist and hood to keep the cold air out. There is an elastic cord at the back of the hood that tightens the hood around my head, and the yellow shoestring type cords on the inside allow me to cover everything but my eyes. The collar is comfortable with the fleece lining, and the elastic around the arm cuffs are nice. I also like the large inside zipper pocket. I would definitely buy again.

I was looking for a jacket to throw on in the cold of winter that would be minimalistic in profile but not leave me freezing, mostly to wear into the office and for quick hikes during my lunch break. I narrowed it down to either this or the Patagonia Down Sweater. This jacket was a better fit over all, I found the Patagonia to be loose in all the wrong places. I’m 5’10, 200lbs with an athletic build and the Large fits well. This thing stands up to the cold, too. It’s great for light activities; I’ve worn it in 10 degF weather with only a t-shirt underneath and the insulation was adequate to keep me warm. Its best feature might be the hood. It zips high enough to cover your mouth for extra heat retention. The price point means it’s not for everyone, but if you’re ... I have always been hesitant to join the puffy trend, but now that I live in a colder climate I can see their merit. I did a lot of research and tried many competitors before landing on this Fjallraven. The Patagonia is also really nice, but more expensive, less durable feeling, and I don't like the boxy fit. This jacket may have a slightly worse weight-to-heat ratio than its competitors, but for a non-technical use case I think the trade-off of better durability and features is well worth it. It had a really lovely build quality and fits my frame perfectly. The leather drawstring cinches are a little weird and clumsy at first, but they do add a nice stylistic flair. I have a feeling I'll be wearing this piece for many years.

I have the jacket version, that is hoodless, most excellent. I also have the hoody, now. Great pieces of gear, so light, so warm, and absolutely the best. Along with wool, you can regulate your comfort and body temp, well. I know people are drawn to synthetics, and yes those too have their place, but down and wool, natural and hard to match.
I have the Keb touring down jacket which is fantastical and I decided to get something that packs down small and carry-able in a bag. Boom!!! Here comes the Expedition Pack Down Hoodie. Gracias Fjallraven, for making this for me. Ok, maybe not exclusively for me, but pretty close. Here's the quick and dirty. Looks good, feels good, wears good, warms good, packs good, price is good, it's all good. I love this thing. It's comfy, keeps me toasty when I need to be, supa dupa light, and it has that cool little logo that makes me proud wearing it.
I bought this to use in the coldest weather and assumed it would offer as much protection as similar coats. But I used it today at 15 degree and very windy and was totally warm and comfortable. It was amazing. It is very light and comfortable to wear. The hood works very well and is quite protective. If you are going to wear layers under it, consider buying one size larger than your usual.
I've only worn the jacket several times (no precip\temps in the teens), but so far, so very good!! Of the several light packable jackets I have, this is easily the best. You really can't beat the down for warmth and comfort; the 2 outer pockets plus an inner zip pocket and nice fitting hood. I'm 5'10", 180 and chose the XL so I have room for layers. If you're outside and moving at all, this jacket is perfect. (If you're just standing around, you may want to look at the parkas.)
For me, it's just perfect! The Medium is just right for my frame at 178 cm/ 5'10", 80 kg/ 177 lbs. I can move around, lift my arms over my head with no restriction in movement (which was not the case with a very well made Arc'teryx hoodie in Medium which I thought fit a bit small). I like the cinch cords around the waist, face, and back of the hood. There is an inside chest pocket which can be turned into a stuff sack. There is the correct room underneath for a sweater or fleece without feeling too tight. But neither is it baggy with just a shirt underneath. This makes it versatile from Autumn all the way through into Spring. I am as warm as I want to be in this - it is a proper outdoor garment. The materials are quality and weight of the down is just right. I love ... MoreFor me, it's just perfect! The Medium is just right for my frame at 178 cm/ 5'10", 80 kg/ 177 lbs. The bonus is you are extra huggable when you wear this, or so I've been told.
I am 200/5"10 and a Large is perfect with ample room for a sweater underneath without looking bulky or boxy. This does NOT run small - if anything it leans slightly larger. Super comfortable not only for the fit and room in the chest and shoulders but also the materials - very nice fabrics and the fill is light yet warm. Granted, this is not a winter coat but especially with a layer underneat this can keep you comfortable into some colder temps. The Neck/Hood is wonderful - the zipline extends to just over your chin and it is lined so as not to irritate the skin and the hood's drawstring keeps your entire cranium warm and wind-protected without sacrificing visibility. Love this jacket - it's now a staple in my pack whenever I'm venturing into the mountains. It's incredibly warm, and the 700-fill does a great job with a warmth-to-weight ratio. Love the small attention to detail with a fleece-lined collar. Pockets are huge. I haven't tested the hood out with any helmets, but it seems like it can handle a climbing helmet fine. The internal stuff pocket is a revelation - it's beyond easy to stuff into it's pocket and zip away. There's also a loop if you wanted to clip it off a harness or a pack. It doesn't stuff down too small (little smaller than a 32oz Nalgene), but that convenience cannot be understated. It very quickly regains it's form after being taken out too.I'm 5'11, 170, and a M fits great. It's definitely on the ... It's definitely on the "puffier" side, which does make layering it a bit more of a challenge compared to other down jackets, but I haven't had any issues under my more true-to-size M hardshells.
