I had a Fjallraven Kanken Daypack for one year during high school and it wasn’t in the best condition by the end of the year compared to other bag brands I’ve tried before. Although these are super cute, I wouldn’t recommend using them for school if you’ll be putting them down often. There were multiple holes and scuffs on my backpack by the end of the year, when most backpacks I’ve used would only have a few light marks on their bottoms. One great thing about these backpacks though is that there’s a surprising amount of space for how small they look on the outside. Overall, these are cute backpacks, but I wouldn’t recommend using these if there’s a chance that you could get them dirty because they’re a bit vulnerable to scratches and marks.

Adorable and well made!

The backpack is also light weight, which is perfect because I use this as a day backpack when we are going to coffee shops, the park, festivals, on flights, etc.It even comes with a little foam pad that you can take out and use as a cushion to sit on. And yes, I have mentioned a lot of the things I love about this backpack....but my most favorite is....it is freaking adorable! The blue is bright and beautiful and the straps are rainbow and perfect just in time for Pride.

Decent backpack

A little pricey for what you get, but we’ll constructed. Roomy in the main compartment, but I prefer a couple pockets inside my bag for loose items like pens. It has one exterior pocket which has room for a couple smaller items, and then two slip pockets on the side. The side pockets for water bottles are pretty slim, especially if you have a lot in your bag or items that fit from one side to the next like a laptop. I have a couple water bottles that won’t fit at all. The laptop pocket is also very tight with the foam pad. I will need to remove the pad. I am pretty small at 5’ and not a bigger person, and the backpack is a bit smaller. I’m a teacher, so I need to carry books and folders along with my laptop, so this will be a tight squeeze this year.

Fashionable bag

Bought this for my daughter as a gift in the blue/teal colour. From a cosmetic and fashionable perspective the rucksack looks great. It is also made of good quality materials and should provide some longevity from wear and tear. Practically, I find it restrictive and the rucksack ia much smaller in size than I thought it would be. The backstraps are too fiddly to adjust and the maximum size seemed far too small even for a child when wearing a jumper and winter coat. The rucksack is fine for putting some A4 pads in for school but if you want to use it for a sleepover and pack clothes in it then you'll struggle to fit it all in compared to other general use rucksacks. Funky luttle backpack

I have not used my backpack yet. I bought it fir next year s trip to Europe. We are going hand luggage only to avoid losses and because mature age and last time was hard with too much luggage.This little backpack weighs very little a nd will be my handbag for flights. I can fit water bottle, umbrella, pr light shoes, puffer vest, make up and creams, other handbag stuff.I think it won t drag on my shoulders and you can make it stand. I am considering buying strap pads available on line for extra comfort. I have two other soft foldable backpacks, may take one also.

Go to staple backpack

I bought this as a like for like replacement for the same bag, but 5 years old! I use it daily, it's so practical for my daily commute with handy front pocket, 2 slide side ones (perfect for an umbrella) and an internal compartment at the back to separate some items.It's quite a dainty bag, so my 15" laptop doesn't fit in, but I can get a 13" in there no issue. If I ever over-fill it, I find the top handles (and their popper) really handy for holding the bag together and making sure nothing falls out.Nice and secure for wandering around London too.

Love the brand but this wasn’t it.

I have many items from this brand and love them all. I’ve had this backpack before too and wanted another in a different colour (green). I ordered it online based on the colour on the website. When I picked it up it was more of a dark grey. I went to have a look at the other back packs to see if it was a mistake and found a totally different colour with the same colour name. Neither were representative of the colour online but I went with the paler one, they let me swap no issues but this is a warning that the colours don’t match online. Even two staff members within the store made comments about how the colours online never match those in store. Lovely bag and durable...

I was hesitant to invest in a backpack with the price tag but having wanted a Fjallraven Kanken backpack for a while, I was glad I did so. I am a student, so trying to find a backpack which can be durable and lightweight is not always easy. Fortunately, the backpack is very easy to carry and not too strenuous on your back even during long days.I was uncertain whether to go for the slightly larger size due to wanting space for my laptop but after reading reviews, I found the bag could fit my laptop in a padded case. The zips are easy to undo and fasten and the side zip is really useful for storing things to have on the go. I like the idea the zips can also be well-hidden if tucked into the material properly. At the very most, you can probably get a laptop, charger, notebook, and a few things like a pencil case or a few books in the main compartment. The other thing is the pockets on the side can fit a small water bottle but I have found you cannot try and fit anything bulky ( such as big cups or bottles) which is a bit of a pain. I have heard a few people talk about the issue of straps digging in. Luckily I have not had this problem due to the loads I have been carrying but I can see how this can be an issue and having to pay more for strap pads for some. Overall, I think the backpack is pretty durable and I am glad I made this investment though I feel as though there are few design features such as pocket sizes which could be improved.

Read the washing/care instructions before buying!

Unfortunately I’m going to have to give this bag a 3 out of 5 stars. These bags are very expensive and durable, but not durable enough to withstand the washer and dryer.. I bought the kånken bag to use as a diaper bag. I thought since this is a fabric bag, I could pop it into the wash if it got dirty- I was wrong.You will ruin your bag if you put in through a washing cycle! It is hand wash only. When you wash it you have to use mild dish soap or detergent. The backpack is 100% vinyl… so basically it’s a dirt magnet. I ended up hand washing mine with baby soap and a tooth brush. I let it soak in warm water with oxyclean for 10 mins then went in with the baby soap and tooth brush… nothing. So then I used a magic eraser. Terracotta Brown Kanken- in love!

Idk why there was no option to choose this color which is the one I bought lol but it is the Terracotta Brown. There were no reviews for this color when I purchased so I decided to show some pictures (w flash and without). I love this backpack!! I’ve had it for two months now and it still looks new. The straps are a little short for my taste so make sure to check that out if it’s a concern for you. I did compare this color to the spicy orange in store and this one is a bit darker. Just fyi because they look pretty similar on the website.
