By including five new songs amongst the seventeen tracks included on the album, the band showed they were still a vital musical force. "Temporary One" is a bouncy number by Ms. McVie and "Sweet Girl" is a good Stevie Nicks song, but Mr. Buckingham steps up big time. "The Beast In Me" and "Bleed To Love Her" are stellar songs and their intensity ignites a fire in the shows. Of course their classic songs are still that, classic. "Rhiannon" has a impassioned vocal performance by Ms. Nicks and "Dreams" sounds a mystical as ever. They have fun with the songs and mix things up by pulling out an old B-side chestnut in the lush "silver Springs" and have John McVie make his lead vocal debut on a sunny "Say You Love Me". Mr. Buckingham gives a manic performance on "Big Love" which slides right into a heartbreakingly beautiful version of "Landslide" that finds the two former lovers, Ms. Nicks & Mr. Buckingham, alone on the stage, just a guitar and voice. The album closes out with a triple play of a blazing "Go Your Own Way" and "Tusk" and "Don't Stop" which has the USC Trojans Marching Band joining the band on stage. The album is a brilliant effort that shows the band can make new music that is on the par with their greatest hits and still keep the classics sounding fresh.

Case was cracked, despite condition being described as 'very good'. Cd sent in a unpadded plastic bag. All four Cd cases in my order were cracked, unsurprisingly. No help or apology offered by WOB. Terrible.

Brilliant

Track 4, The Mac at their best, what a version of Rhiannon! The vocals off Stevie, Chris MacV keyboards, Micks drums, and as for Lyndsey and John on the Guitars..... every track a pleasure to listen to. Plus, done live, with audience participation. Bought two, one for the car, one for the house. With their live in Boston dvd and cd set, have them on constant. Absolutely superb musicians all!

Fleetwood Mac - and Christine McVie None better.

First, like the old commercial, Nobody doesnt like Sara Lee ( Baked Goods ) Its the same with Fleetwood Mac. Nobody doesnt like Fleetwood Mac. In addition, two of their best CDs at a terrific price, whats No to like about that ?

One of my favorite albums, its replacing one that got damaged. Good price, fast deliver, exactly what I ordered RJH Seattle

Great live album, could have been a better recording

I had listened to 'Rumors' and then lost it, so I bought this one. Great collection of their songs, but I thought the recording sounded too "equalized" I had to turn down both the bass and treble on my stereo for it to sound even. I have it set for as even a response as possible on TV(movies-video games) CD albums and everything else. Beyond that, I thought it was pretty good considering there age at the time. (UPDATE) Over the years owning this, I now find that it also a victim of the "loudness wars" it was WAY to compressed, especially for a classic band of their caliber.

Sparkling Live Performance!

Great, live CD of a performance before a relatively small audience in an acoustically pleasing setting. Terrific performances of Rhiannon, Landslide, and Silver Spring. The CD was co-produced by Lindsey Buckingham, who ensured that his vocals came through in the final mix. But really a well done album that sparkles. Not to be missed by FM fans.

The Best Fleetwood Mac album you never heard...

Finally got round to getting "The Dance" on C.D after chewing my tape out after playing it to death in my car. It's basically a "M.T.V Unplugged" album but that fact is hidden away on the back sleeves of the credits - I don't know why, because it's one of the best "plugged" session albums, shame really, it might of sold a few more at release if they had told a few more people.. It starts off all mean and moody with "The Chain" that evokes memories of Formula 1 racing on B.B.C in the good old days of Prost and Senna. Followed by "Dreams" which at the time, 1997, had been recently covered by The Coors. The 17 track live session has many different twists and turns along the way, highlights being the "Tango" classic "Everywhere", The then new song "Bleed to love her", ... MoreFinally got round to getting "The Dance" on C.D after chewing my tape out after playing it to death in my car. The final 3 songs on this "friendly" show, I say friendly show because I never heard so much chatting in between songs considering the well known "tantrums" of the group, are linked strangely together - "Go your own way", "tusk", and the big brass finale "Don't stop" leaves this album on a high. This is excellent example ofhow a live greatest hits album should be.

You won’t be disappointed.

Classic Fleetwood Mac. The songs, the voices, the lyrics and all the rest inspired a smile and relaxed feeling. Popped the disc in the player and I was immediately thrust back in time. Disc arrived in sealed case. Happy I made the purchase.
