In addition assembly is much easier with a power drill/screwdriver otherwise using a manual screwdriver will be really time consuming. The components are quite heavy and although I did manage to turn the desk over on my own I'm quite a big chap and two would definitely be my recommendation. In terms of cable management I bought a pair of baskets of Amazon and attached them to the underside of the desk which I found much harder than actually assembling the desk! This is pretty necessary otherwise you'll have a forest of wires dangling down.I really like the desk in use - plenty of space and the upwards/downwards motion is really smooth and quick. I've had no vibration issues at any height unless I'm really bashing my keyboard and that's only because I have my monitor on an arm. I have the premium control and use 3 of the 4 presets. I have high draughtsman type chair and have a standing, sitting and a midway setting when I have the chair at it's highest extension. I've actually used the standing setting far more than I anticipated as that seems to be the most comfortable to me.If you are investing in one of these desks I'd recommend decluttering and investing in a few other bits - monitor riser , desk mat, a decent lamp, extra sockets (as you can never have enough) etc. One surprising aspect is that although my desk space has significantly expanded I've saved some space as if by magic! This is because at the end of the working day I can raise the desk to the standing position and slide the chair underneath leaving clear space all around.I saw someone express concern at how well the collision detection works. I have it set to the most sensitive and it works fine both when moving up and down and basically stops and moves slightly in the opposite directionTalking of sensitivity just be aware that the control pad is very sensitive and can be activated just by brushing against it - something to consider when mounting it and I actually moved it back slightly which takes literally two mins as the mounting holes allow it to be moved backwards and forwards.I'm really happy with this desk (moreso than I thought I would be!) and would thoroughly recommend the desk to anyone who wants to optimise their working from home experience, and in addition the adjustable height lends itself to any craft based activities you do.

For reference, I have the Pro Plus Standing Desk (E7) with the C frame, at the 48” width.Assembling the desk was exceptionally painless. It took some time and a bit of muscle (as the components are HEAVY), but the manufacturing tolerances for everything are very tight. I had absolutely no issues with holes aligning, and the provided screws were also able to self-tap in some places where holes hadn’t been drilled, to provide a more secure attachment between the frame and the desktop. The electronics connected seamlessly, and the included cable management leaves just one wire exposed: the run from the control panel to the motor controller. I am fully convinced that installing this frame on a more extended desktop would be just as easy, I just didn’t have room for it ... MoreFor reference, I have the Pro Plus Standing Desk (E7) with the C frame, at the 48” width.Assembling the desk was exceptionally painless. I am fully convinced that installing this frame on a more extended desktop would be just as easy, I just didn’t have room for it (maybe in the future).Operation of the desk itself is also really painless. The interface is simple and easy to use, and the motors are nice and quiet. There is a built-in safety mechanism that wasn’t advertised, where if the motors encounter resistance, they’ll stop their motion and reverse by about an inch. I DO wish it was possible to configure how much resistance would trigger a stop, as I’m not convinced it’s enough to prevent injury, but that’s a minor complaint. The only problem comes with the fact that I have cats, and that my cats like to jump. Much to my chagrin, my desk constitutes a major path from the floor to the top of a bookshelf and back. I’ve had the desk assembled and in place for about two weeks now, and during this time, my cats have done countless laps of jumping from the floor to the desk to the bookshelf to the desk to the floor. While they are graceful, they are still heavy, and the desk has sustained numerous impacts from 10-20-pound cats at about 2 feet of distance. This has introduced a wobble. In my reading on Flexispot’s website, wobble can be corrected by tightening the bolts at the bottom of the legs. As I recall, there are four such bolts keeping the legs attached to the feet, and it is the loosening of those bolts that causes wobble. But the only way to access those bolts is from below. This leaves me with two options: sliding a pair of sawhorses under the desk and “lowering” the desk until the feet come off the ground (which the aforementioned safety feature might prevent), or clearing off the desk and tilting it to one side—possibly leaning it over entirely. Neither of these options is particularly appealing, and I find myself hoping that the engineers will consider figuring out some way to access and tighten those bolts more easily in future revisions (though as I’m out over $600 on this desk, I can’t say if I’d be keen on upgrading just to have easier access to some bolts). So, the desk is quite good. Amazing, in fact. The build quality is excellent and it has a premium feeling that seems like it’s going to last for years. But my cats are exacerbating the desk’s one design issue by jumping down onto it from on high. In fairness, without four legs, I’m not sure if that could actually be prevented. I am simply now left with the choice of leaving my cats disappointed by removing their access to the bookshelf, or of having to tighten the bolts every few weeks (and I’m hesitant to use something like Loctite, as the bolts may be a deliberate point of failure). If you have cats and plan to use your desk next to a bookshelf, cat tree, or other elevated place where cats like to go, beware this pain.

On my desk I have a computer that weighs about 2 and a half stone (15kg ish), two monitors that rock in about 7kg a piece, two speakers, a couple small potted plants, and some other peripherals. All in all, about 40-45kg of weight on the legs, the solid oak top itself I forgot to weigh after I cut it down (I originally put on the 6'2 slab and the legs coped with no issue, but have since cut it down a foot) but considering the weight of English Oak, it should currently weigh around 22kg. Meaning my desk is handling up to 67kg with no problems, and with me leaning on it constantly in both standing and seated positions no less. No mean feat.If I lean on the desk as it's moving to or from standing, the sudden weight change will be registered as a blockage and the safety features will kick in reversing the table a centimetre or two. The build quality is really nice, the instructions are easy, and the setup took me just over an hour the first time and just about 25 minutes the second time (when I cut the table top down, so it was already mostly assembled). If you're bigger than average like myself, then this'll do you fine. If you're pushing 7', then I'm not certain you'll find this table to your liking unless you want to stick 6" risers under the legs and set the table down to it's lowest height (I can't currently drop it to test for the review as I've put a side table under the desk in the far corner of the room for hidden storage meaning my minimum height is still quite high) for seated use.

4 April 2023

Been using the desk for a couple of weeks now. I'm an electrical engineer so can be quite critical of badly designed systems. I have quite a lot of heavy equipement on my (new) desk. In my opinion this desk is excellent. Easy and quick to assemble (good concise instructions that are difficult to get wrong). Considering their power, the motors are strong and relatively quiet considering what they can lift (my 2yr old grandaughter and equipment). I was concerned about the desk 'wobble' at standing height but it's nice and stable. There is a small bit of wobble but its not unreasonable. I have quite a lot of heavy equipement on my (new) desk. In my opinion this desk is excellent. Easy and quick to assemble (good concise instructions that are difficult to get wrong). I would recommend connecting a power supply for equipement and some cable management to the underneath of the desk to keep items from snagging during operation. I'm already feeling the health benefits of not sitting so much and it's also great to be able to easily organise and hoover underneath the desk by setting it to full height. It is quite expensive but worth it in my opinion. Looks great and feels like it will last a long time (well engineered) i hope. So far so good and i'll post if there are any problems.

Excellent value for money (with discount)

Bought an E7 frame (frame only) around 3 months ago, having looked very carefully at this and the Jarvis equivalent. My wife has been using it and finds it to be well built and sturdy. There is so much discussion online about side to side and back and forwards rock on all makes of this type of desk but having set this up (with an oak veneered top bought elsewhere) we have no complaints about the movement. Yes, of course it rocks a little when extended, but nothing that I believe detracts from it's use. I did have an issue that the feet were slightly bowed, but this appears to be a manufacturing issue and does not affect the strength - Flexispot replaced the feet, although the new ones were very similar. There are also adverse comments about Flexispot customer ... MoreBought an E7 frame (frame only) around 3 months ago, having looked very carefully at this and the Jarvis equivalent. Flexispot E7 Review ( IKEA Karlby/Alex setup)
11 July 2022

Ordering & ShippingI initially chatted to customer service and provided the size and weight of my current worktop and which legs would be best suited and was suggested with the E7 model which was one of their best performers. The E7 was currently on sale for 279.99 at the time, ( normally 329.99 ) plus managed to get 7.46 tracked on Quidco.I placed the order at 3pm on Sunday , received a shipping confirmation from DHL the very next day and the desk arrived in 2 parcels on Tuesday. Honestly I was expecting it to arrive Friday at the earliest or the week after, so overall, very impressed.AssemblyConstruction was really straight forward, the legs come pre assembled and it's simply a matter of attaching them to the crossbeam and then drilling that into the worktop. ... MoreOrdering & ShippingI initially chatted to customer service and provided the size and weight of my current worktop and which legs would be best suited and was suggested with the E7 model which was one of their best performers. I followed along with their YouTube video which made things very easy. The Karlby worktop is made from particleboard so the provided self tapping screws had no issue going through it.Usage & StabilityMy main concern prior to ordering was " Is it going to wobble / be stable enough?" and honestly any desk or setup for that matter will have a certain degree of wobble, especially at standing height when issues are more pronounced, but more importantly does it affect productivity or general day to day tasks?I can honestly say after using the E7 daily for well over a month now, I haven't had any issues with the stability or thought "I wish this was more stable or I had gone for a better/more expensive model ".For reference, I've got a Karbly desktop (30kg), 2 x 27" Dell Monitors + Arm (19kg) , Monitor Audio B2 speakers (14kg) which all together come in around 63kg, well under the 125kg limit on the E7. Also, due to the arrangement of my Alex drawers, I'm using the crossbeam only slightly over its minimum distance at 115cm (110-190cm range) which definitely helps the overall rigidity. There is some minor shake if you forcefully shake the desk, especially when it's raised but again, no problems when working. The motors are very smooth and have a nice damping / smooth transition effect when they reach the desired height so avoid any jolting movement. The keypad is great too and nice addition with the sit/stand logos for presets (3 &4)Pro's- Study, easy to assemble frame with good adjustability- Smooth and quiet motors ( 43db when in operating in a quiet room)- Great touch sensitivity controller with useful memory functions- 5 year warranty and good customer serviceCon's- Lack of USB-C charging port on controller (only USB-A) - both would be nice- More cable management options would be useful, the trucking for the motors is great but wish there was more (possibly behind the legs)

So far I'm pleased with the frame. I had to make a lot of modifications to make it fit my space though so in case it helps others in the same position heres what I did. In hindsight one of the single motor single beam options would have saved alot of this!Firstly my space was 110 wide which the frame will fit just, but couldnt get a top to fit so used a kitchen worktop from ikea and cut to size. I also didnt want the frame to be right up to the edges so decided to shorten it by 40mm to allow 20mm overhang at each side. This invloved some tricky cutting so only for the brave hearted! but can be done. The next challenge is a 63cm wide top will not sit flush against a wall at the back as the feet are wider than this. I'd say your top needs to be at least 70cm. I ... MoreSo far I'm pleased with the frame. I'd say your top needs to be at least 70cm. I solved this by positioning the top off centre (pushed back) which then required me to shorten the side rails by 50mm at the front. The final challenge was to try to fit a drawer underneath which gets really tricky due to the dual rails as there is very little depth for a drawer. I abandoned trying and have some brackets off amazon to store my laptop now. Hope this helps.

30 December 2022

This one is replacing my 4-year-old Ikea Malm. I really wanted a standing desk, not exactly for the main feature of using it as a standing desk, but more so that I could adjust the height when sat down. I must say this desk exceeded all my expectations. Worries based on some questionable reviews on reddit were put to rest. This desk arrived really quickly (in two days). Very well packaged. Bamboo table top is gorgeous. Looks good and feels great upon touch, very smooth. The two motorised feet feel very sturdy too.I cannot exactly talk about reliability of this desk yet as I've only received it about 3 weeks ago. However assembly is pretty straight forward. Mounting feet to the table top is easy as all the necessary holes were pre-drilled.However any attachments you may purchase directly from Flexispot is for you to choose the placement for as they will not have any holes pre-drilled into the desk. I found the additional cable management tray to be quite finicky to attach as you need a strong, thin screwdriver/drill extension, but I didn't have a thin enough one, therefore I had to mark the spots to drill in then drill the brackets in and then attach the rest of the tray, rather than ******** in an already assembled unit. The cable spine is very cool too, however screws it comes with are too long (atleast for the bamboo tabletop) therefore I had to use my own, smaller screws. Even though all attachments seem to come with the same length screws, the spine has a much thinner mounting bracket than the rest of the accessories, therefore provided screws are too long and would come out on the other end. Be careful.Even though it wasn't difficult, my whole assembly of the desk and accessories still took about 3 hours. If you ever are stuck, you can find an official Flexispot assembly video on YouTube, which shows you have to do it step by step with very clear guidance. As well as how to put it back on its feel safely once the assembly is done. This desk is very heavy. Feet weight about 30kg and the table top is another 15kg, be careful taking it in and handling.

Very wobbly at standing height. Not recommended if you have an ultra wide display.
21 May 2023

I bought this desk with a one piece 180x80cm desktop. The build quality of the desk is sturdy, and it's great while using it while seated. Instructions to assemble the desk are clear, and a screw driver with multiple heads is provided in the box.The problem with the desk is that it starts to wobble when it's height goes past 90 then it becomes very wobbly at standing height. You can wobble it very easily with your fingers and it wobbles while writing on it. I also have a 38' ultra wide monitor and it has very noticeable wobbles while typing on the keyboard.I double checked that all screws are tight, moved the desk in case the floor was not balanced, but none of that fixed the problem.I contacted support and suggested that they send a replacement for one of the ... MoreI bought this desk with a one piece 180x80cm desktop. They kindly sent a replacement column, but it did not fix the problem. I'm still not sure if I should keep it and live with the wobble, or send it back for a refund.Overall, I recommend staying away from this desk if you want to avoid wobbles at a standing height and especially if you have an ultra wide monitor.
