Don't waste your time or money on this item if you have a 1" thick Acrylic tank. I just opened it and tried removing coraline algae from my 400G 1" thick acrylic tank. It works "OK", just ok... I hoped for better performance than Mighty Magnets Algae Dozer Pads, but have become sadly disappointed. The Dozer Pads work better and the magnets used by Mighty Magnets actually hold the device drastically better. This MAX unit barely holds the device on 1" thick acrylic. Secondly, the little blade goes dull very quickly. The manufacturer suggesting replacing the blades every 2-5 months is a joke. One cleaning and I can see the edge of the blade becoming rounded. This might work OK on a glass tank with the stainless blade, but on a 1" acrylic tank, it's a joke.

This is awesome design. No more scratches from sand particles getting in-between the magnets. Where have you been!
Works great with my 1/2" glass 100 gallon rimless. I like the 2 in 1 pad and scraper on opposite sides. If you put the scraper and pad on the same side, the scraper tends to hold the pad away from the glass on that end. My mag float was like this. The small pads on the opposite end from the blade on the scraper side do a great job spot scrubbing because the pressure is focused on the small area. I would not rate this magnet for anything thicker than 1/2" glass though, it is just too weak for 3/4 or 1 inch glass.
This was so easy to use and it worked better than I expected. So much easier than reaching into the fish tank to clean tough algae. This product is a MUST HAVE for any aquarium owner. I love it :-)
Love this cleaner. I have 155 gal bow front tank and have always struggled with finding something that will clean and not tear up the acrylic. What used to take 20-30 min. was done in 5.
I received the package faster than I expected. The item arrived in perfect condition. I am using this Max version on my 34 gallon tank which unfortunately has a years worth of algae growth. I was hoping this scraper would be the miracle I needed. It worked well but did not scrape all of the algae in one pass. Over time though with lots of elbow bending, it should be under control. I wont wait so long to scrape this time.
