I purchased this meter for home inspections. It is a very useful moisture meter with indirect/thermal imaging, contact and pin metering. The indirect feature saves lot of time - damp areas are cool and show up on screen. I also use it as a thermal imager to track heat loss in the winter. It stores (small) images that can be downloaded to your computer and added to your report. I was also impressed that my first firmware download turned this from a monochrome imager into a color imager. Lots of bang for your buck

MR160 has added another tool and another service to my business. As a home inspector I find this tool to be very accurate in finding water spots that have been covered. I will not do another inspection without the MR160.
Great meter. Use it regularly to monitor a drying stud area near master bath. PIN mode solid. Need to make sure you understand the right GROUP for the wood type. PINLESS works well on wood flooring and walls you don't wish to 'pin'. IR looks good, haven't had to use it yet. Solid construction. Well made.
Love the unit- it's very heavy duty, almost don't need a separate carrying case. The modes are easy to scroll thru. Pin, Pinless or IR easy to toggle. I use the PIN mode a lot on 2x4 studs. You need to make sure you understand the correct GROUP for the wood. This is a bit tougher. There are 11 groups now, although the newest batch (Group 10 & 11) are ambiguous building materials. You need to know the type of wood you are pinning. The IR mode offers 4 different contrasts, which does help. PINLESS works well. Easy to read screens and bars.
The product is ok. It does sense water but in a cold room with wet flooring it made the entire camera turn blue. If the flooring is dry and spots on the wall are wet it works great. The photos of the product really isn't clear, more blurry which is hard to use for Insurance reports. For the price its ok. But would expect a better picture of the cost of this unit.
Its shipped very fast and was what i expected. I have found it to be very helpful on my water damage jobs. - owner complete flood restoration san Diego CA...
