The single touch on/off light might seem intense initially so plan your plant's out and consider some floating root plants since betta's love those anyway. This combination will disburse the light intensity for the fish mimicking their natural habitat and create a nice visual appeal. It also has an upgraded clip allowing placement really at any part of the rim, eliminating the previously annoying block slide on from the older models. My only hang-ups with this set up are: wishing it came in a 5 gallon. The plastic base would be better with a rubber rim or some other soft padding. I can't count how many times I have scratched my tables and wood shelves adjusting the positioning. Lastly, dimmable light kits.

I can’t tell you how much I love fluval In general I own the 5 gallon the 2.6 gallon and this one and the 15gal all have great filtration systems all of which can be modified for bettas but let’s take about this betta fluval tank best by far without any modification it comes with a heater fluval brand of course fits nicely in the back everything you need for this tank can be bought at petco or online I’d recommend putting in a bubblers keep water moving on the surface unless won’t hurt…. I love the black on black look of this tank the corner molding is black unlike the other tanks they are silver it really attractive tank too the eyes …. I bought two for two rescue bettas. I’m impressed. Slow flow, concealed water pump, heater and filter. Betta national organizations ok 2.5 or larger gallon aquariums for bettas. Fluval designed this just for bettas. Fluval has a well known name and excellent reputation. Don’t hesitate buying this. Also, the light can be set to a timer!!

I bought this aquarium two days ago. I like it, but it would take a modification for me to LOVE it, as I think it has a significant flaw. Pros: * set up instructions were clear * attractive modern looking aquarium * filter seems well-designed for bettas Con: There's a large open space in the lid! My concern with this aquarium is that the "feeding hole" in the lid is unnecessary and potentially dangerous for the betta. Bettas do sometimes jump, and the slot for feeding is large enough for a betta to jump out of. I would have very much preferred a lid that covered the aquarium completely. Such a lid would also cut down on evaporation. Very powerful and efficient filtration. Kit includes filter, filter media, heater preset to the adequate betta temperature, very silent filtration and low lighting included as well. This is a great option for new betta keepers that offers a clean start up kit for basic betta fish needs and essentials. Although I would have liked to place my betta in a larger tank, I do not have space for a larger tank so I feel this tank fits well with my situation and still gives me a chance to offer my betta a clean and decent environment. It is a great tank for beginers like me that are learning proper fish care, and tank maintenance.
As long as you do not mind that the actual swimming space is only estimated to be 2.6g before you fill with decorations, plants, gravel, ect. In my opinion this tank right out of the box is perfect for a long finned betta that would struggle with most filter water flows. I keep a plakat and would actually prefer a bit more water flow from the outtake grill and I have my pump switched all the way to the highest flow. I had mine shipped and everything arrived in new and undamaged condition. I did put in 5 lbs of gravel with a bit of Malaysian wood and I could only get just over 3 gallons of water volume total, the box states 3.6 gallons total water volume. If you keep you tank in a chilly room, the included 10w heater may not cut it for a tropical temp. I also order two 3d printed pieces from Etsy when I ordered this tank. I got a grill grate to go into the open slot on the lid and I also got a light canopy to shield the bright leds as my tank sits a bit higher than eye level and it will also point more light down into the tank for my low light plants. I did a lot of research before settling on the Fluval 2.6g betta tank vs the Fluval spec V or just the normal Fluval Spec III. Even with wanting a bit more waterflow, the Fluval Betta Spec was the best choice for me. I do plan on getting a 2nd one down the road.
I've had literally a dozen different mini tanks for bettas, and after several months with this one, I can safely say it's the best I've ever had. While it takes a bit to set up, the filter runs very well and quietly while remaining out of sight. The light is also pretty strong and has done wonders for my plant. I rarely have issues with the water, and the flow seems well enough for my betta to allow for easy swimming. While the price may seem steep, this seems to last a lot longer than cheaper betta kits I have purchased. Definitely worth the investment.
I have had bettas in Fluval, Marineland, and Top Fin tanks over the years, but got out of fishkeeping during COVID. So when I saw this, I knew I wanted to try it. I do think this may be the minimum size for a single betta, but I have to say my fish seems to be very happy. He has built a bubble nest and his coloring and fins look great! This offers similar filtration to my Fluval Spec 5, but does a great job of slowing down/diffusing the water being pumped. My tank has only been up a month or so, but so far it's great! If you want ONLY a betta, this should be a good choice. Just inspect the frame and lid (all package contents) before leaving the store to ensure nothing is damaged.

Water flow is there & ever so gentle. Gary rests up against the back intake panel, it must have light suction that feels good. He sits there suspended & has crafted a big bubble nest above where he rests. LED light location is perfect as well as the little opening to feed. It lets you get up close to bond with your fish. They really do respond to human interaction. The contents of the box make it a pretty complete set-up minus plants/decs. One caveat is the heater. Unlike some of the other Fluval Spec aquariums which are of a similar size, this one requires no special modifications to make it Betta safe. We have followed all the recommended instructions for maintenance and cycling, it so far everything has been great. Some of the reviews reference difficulty in finding the consumables, but they are the same as the other Fluval Spec maintenance items which are readily available. The only exception is the Diffusion Pad (#A1337). It's the same material as the poly/foam pads sold for other Fluval tanks, just a smaller size. Cut down the Fluval C3 size poly/foam pad. But really, can you put a price tag on the friendship of your aquatic companion? I think not. I know some have commented that a larger size would be ideal, but chances are your Betta has spent most of his life in a take-out container, so this is a substantial upgrade. You can certainly go with a larger Fluval Spec tank so long as you research the suggested modifications. Or just go with this. It's ready to go with everything you need: filter, light, heater. And it looks really sharp.
