Focusrite Red 16 Line Interface
The Asparion D700 DAW controller offers a universally applicable interface for the most modern form of music production. Designed for maximum productivity, it adapts unconditionally to your needs. With up to 64 motorized faders, countless LED buttons, and RGB rotary encoders, your creativity knows no bounds. Through a variety of connection options such as MIDI, OSC, and MQTT, it controls everything your heart desires: from the DAW software to lighting software, music players, and smart home devices. The combination of 8 high-precision motorized faders, each with 4 LED buttons and an RGB rotary encoder with an LED ring, gives you full control over your audio tracks. The touch-sensitive metallic surface of the faders makes automation a breeze. With an accuracy of up to 4000 steps per fader, you can always position your sliders exactly where they need to be. To avoid distractions from the main task, the volume of the faders has been significantly reduced. The color representation of the RGB rotary encoders allows you to quickly find the right audio track.

I originally built my home studio around second-hand mixer and a Scarlett series 2i2, which made even basic recording and bussing from my DAW a chore. I finally had the money to invest into a proper setup, and I truly can't quantify how much it improved my music making ability. The time recovered from messing about with cable routing constantly made the upgrade worth it, even before considering the fantastic jump in quality. Tearing out all my patches, mixer connections and sends and watching it all plug into the DB25 ports was a sight to behold. The workflow of this unit, driven by the RedNet application makes essentially every bussing, routing and live mixing decision a click or two away. The workflow of this unit, driven by the RedNet application makes essentially every bussing, routing and live mixing decision a click or two away. Despite some small hiccups with the RedNet program originally, (which their tech support was able to address via an update), this unit very successfully fades into the background and lets you focus on the instruments in the room rather than your setup. Signal clarity is immaculate, and the same goes for the headphone amps. The headroom goes for miles compared to my original mixing solution. The only minor complaint is the high-z inputs in the front panel will whine if the gain is left on without an instrument plugged into them, but turning the knob back to 0 fixes this quickly. Looking forward to add more to my Rednet/Dante environment down the line and making my cramped studio even more so.

The versatility, number of channels, variety of I/O options, and professional quality make this hard to beat. Although Focusrite's affordable interfaces are excellent value for the money, the Focusrite Pro series boxes rise to another level and offer no compromise quality and features. Thunderbolt 3 to ADAT to Pro Tools to Dante to analog, the Swiss Army Knife of pro interfaces.
