Overall a great plywood. The bulk of the plywood is regular, cheap ply but with a very nice Tasmanian Oak veneer. The face may not need sanding if your are varnishing is, it is very smooth. If you do sand it though be careful, the veneer is very thin. I ruined a multi-day build by breifly sanding this ply with a belt sander.

The Red Oak Plywood seems to resist distortion better than say, pine ply. It therefore needs less in the way of strengthening supports. I also find the appearance quite attractive. Unfortunately, for some of the jobs I do, the 600 width results in a lot of wastage, and I would prefer to buy 800 mm wide boards, but they never seem to be available for online purchases.

I have made a table top out of the Red Oak Ply. Gave it a light sand with light paper. Having stained the ply to highlight the natural colour then I sealed it with an oil based varnish. For a a really cheap large work space Table, that I made, it looks better and is solid. Really pleased with the product

This product was great and better than the reviews. The quality was very good the and result was great. You can cut along or across the grain. Suggest a fine blade saw.
I used this plywood for frame a panel furniture, and drawer bases. It has a fantastic looking and finished veneer, which is quite thin so you need to be very careful when cutting it. But this is expected with a veneered product. Other people said it wasn’t very good for CAM use, this doesn’t surprise me as it doesn’t have the highest quality core as the manufacturing costs were put into the quality veneering. It you want it for furniture it’s great, but if you want to CNC or laser cut it I would choose a dense marine ply.
I cut this into 50mm strips for my project and they all took on a curve as they came of the saw table. This shouldn’t happen with plywood!Paper thin face veneers and the core layers are jumbled in places.A low quality product but certainly not a low price
NEVER NEVER TOUCH this red OAK Ply. I have worked with timbers for 15 years and this OAK veneer ply is the worst quality I have had the misfortune to work with. You cannot conventionally cut this material without the veneer chipping off. You cannot edge sand it for the same reason. If you happened to get wood glue on its surface you cannot sand it as the veneer is too thin . I spent 8 hrs injecting glue and putty just to try and get some sort of satisfactory integral structure.Cannot believe Bunnings sell this at this high cost and get away with it. Its completely rubbish and not suited as a DIY timber. Bunnings ,do yourself and customers a favour + your credibility by REMOVING IT FROM STOCK or at least find a reputable supplier over profit.
Not too bad, but not the best thing either. Like other have said: nice but thin veneer. It comes quite smooth, but if you want to sand it further, do it gently, by hand preferably. The interior layers are sometimes tangled, so not nice for exposed edges. The interior layers are poplar as per the specs, which is not a hard wood, even though it's technically a "hardwood". It looks straight when you buy it but it bends a bit when you cut it. See the photo, 12 mm ply, sanded a bit with 180 grit, finished with Watson wipe-on poly.
I bought this plywood two days ago. It fell apart when I cut it - there were large spaces in the middle of the plywood which had no glue. The replacement plywood was better but still not fantastic. The return process was easy enough - just meant I wasted the best part of a morning.
I bought two sheets of this ply for some furniture making. The edge was going to be exposed, but it turns out there are voids and overlaps in the layers, so would not recommend for this purpose.
