I have always ridden with Alpinestars Tech 7 since riding and they have been my "go to". However after allot of research i found these are Fox's version/ competition of the tech 7 and i thought id give them a go... especially as they do 1/2 sizes in them now, which is amazing!....First off they look great, and they fit very well! They are the most comfortable boot i have worn and id say feel more of a trainer feel fit... arched sole and very comfortable fit (true to size). They took no time to wear in the motion makes the boot feel super comfortable... whereas compared to say the tech 7 i find them quite stiff to wear, take a couple of rides to wear in and also make that noise when you walk (rubbing). I cant say much about the durability as they are new, but they ... MoreI have always ridden with Alpinestars Tech 7 since riding and they have been my "go to". Did not get 40 hours out of Fox Comp boots. Inner pull string guides pulled out of boots with very little effort. Buckles are extremely difficult to clasp down, the boot flexes before it locks. We've had to get someone to step on buckles to snap them down. Bought two pairs of Fox Comp boots and same issues on both sets. Fox quality has gone way down. Try different brands.

DONT BUY!!!

I bought boots in September and they are supper comfy and great.... before you get on the bike. I have broken a buckle every single time I ride. They are garbage boots. I would not buy fox boots again. I have ridden and broken the parts and then replaced and after a single rode they break again. Either a terrible design or weak and crappy quality. I have resorted to using my cheap 2 year old thos boots instead of them and will buy a new pair next year. Total waste of money

Dangerous boots
23 August 2022

These boots didn’t last 6 months riding maybe every other week In the desert mostly sand dune and arroyos. Waste of money and this level of failure from normal use this early is dangerous. Don’t cheap out on your foot protection lesson learned. I have buddies with cheaper boots that have held up for years vs these. Fox has gone downhill since I rode when I was younger about 20 years ago.

Great boot and great cost.

So far. Three rides on them over the course of one weekend. Through puddles. Creek crossings. Snow. Mud. The interior pull tight system around the ankle makes the fit really snug. Also helps keep water out really well. They are extremely comfortable. The extra traction on bottom with the comp x model does help when needing to help pop the bike back up or pull someone up or out. My only one small complaint is the toe area and sole area are a bit thicker than most which at first makes brake feel and shifting feel tough to get used to. Once broke in you get used to it and it becomes more natural feeling. I rode all weekend and did not have any water entering the boots at all while riding with a buddy who was complaint about his tech 5?s being wet inside. Size wise. I ... MoreSo far. Great boot, needs improvements
31 July 2022

I bought these 3 months ago when I got my DR650. I bought them on the recommendation of RyanF9 and I’m glad I did. These boots are very sturdy, tough, and they give me the confidence to do more off road without worrying about hurting my foot or ankle. My biggest gripes with these is the poor way the fabric seems to double over itself when buckling up, it seems like they could have been designed better to mitigate that.

Instinct 2's
10 December 2022

I compared these against the Crossfire 3 srs, tech 10, Leatt. Gaerne 12/Tech 7's not considered as I've owned a couple pairs, but both absorb too much water. My criteria was fit/comfort, protection, and keeping my feet dry. Per 2 riding buddies, they would keep my feet dry, so I knew that wasn't going to be an issue. After trying on the Instinct 2's, I knew the fit was really good. Additionally, the protection (especially in the heal was improved over my Tech 7's that I use on the track). I tried on the Leatt, and knew that wouldn't work. Next was the Tech 10. I didn't care for these either. The last boot I tried on was the SRS 3. Typically, Sidi is too narrow. The Srs 3's don't seem to have that problem. I may get another pair for the Track.

Rad MX Boots!
13 December 2021

I bought 4 different boots during Black Friday sale within $150 price range. They were all great, but personally, these were best looking and most comfortable. They all felt like ski boots, but I hear that wears out a bit when broken in. I’m normally size US 12.5 but I’m forced to buy size 13 in shoes. So, they are typically slightly too big but better than too small with a size 12. With that said, these felt like what I normally experience with size 13 shoes. I did rate lower on Features. Unlike Thor and O’Neals, it didn’t seem to have the metal toe plate or additional strapping for a more secure fit (although it feels unnecessary). Also, for durability, the rubber is already scuffed up from riding the MX, but they still look great.

The quest to find the right boot:
29 March 2023

I'm an adv rider with a Tenere 700. I started with my trusty pair of TCX Baja Gore-Tex boots, a marvelously comfy boot for riding and walking in that offers nothing in lateral or crush protection above the sole. My boot size is 11.So, as I begin to push the bike harder, I start looking for an MC boot.First up, the O'Neal Elements.Pro:-Solid over toe protection, affordable, true to size.Con:-Above foot, ankle joint pressure in riding position.-Relatively mild lateral protection for a dedicated MC boot.Upon getting into a rider position I noticed increased pressure on the top of the ankle in a side-by-side comparison while wearing the Fox 23 Comp boot. Future inspection led me wanting more in the lateral protection. It is definitely better than an adv boot ... MoreI'm an adv rider with a Tenere 700. Future inspection led me wanting more in the lateral protection. It is definitely better than an adv boot but compared to other MC boots it was disappointing.Next up the Aplinestar Tech 3:Con:-Small toe box.-Odd fitting boot. I explain below. The review video is great from Revzilla, but I now know I most try boots on at a local store instead of playing the ship and return shopping game at this point. I go down from a size 11 to a 10 as per the video but it immediately becomes apparent my calf prevents the boot from closing and the toe box is tight wearing thin cotton soaks. I go up to a size 11 and the toe box is still tight but the boot closes with no addition room for pants or armor. On to the next. The last boot, 2023 Fox Comp boots:Pro:-Solid lateral protection.-Comfortable-Long straps for flexible fitment.Con:-The lateral protect is not on a pivot, however I did not notice any impairment in rider position.I choose these because the adjustability in the clasps for my 18" diameter calf size and the affordability.

Waterproof
19 May 2022

I'm using these on my 450R quad, usually in sand, but will also use them in dirt. They fit great, were comfortable and tested waterproof (or at least very water resistant). The latches are a bit small, but work fine. The material to keep out sand, dirt on the inside forward of the boots were better on my old boots. As I put my foot in these boots, I have to be careful to be sure I don't rip that material. Overall, the boots were work great, easy to use to shift, kick start (no electric) and offer good protection.
