Fox Racing Dropframe Pro Helmet - Black

(508 reviews)

The Fox Racing Dropframe Pro is Fox racing's MTB helmet with maximum headgear coverage for trail / enduro rides. This bike helmet is not only lowered at the back of the neck, but also at the ears on the sides. With the addition of MIPS you are better protected against the rotational forces that occur in the event of a fall. The Varizorb EPS system with double density completes the MTB Helmet's fall protection. This system disperses impact forces over a larger area, so that no one spot has to absorb the full impact. Thanks to the 8 large ventilation openings and 7 ventilation outlets, this MTB helmet has a good cooling capacity. This significantly reduces the risk of overheating. The safely attached visor at the front is positioned in such a way that it perfectly guides the air flows to the large ventilation openings. The Fidlock SNAP helmet buckle allows you to securely fasten the chinstrap, even while wearing gloves. The 360o Fit System has not been added to this helmet, making it impossible to adjust the fit accordingly. To compensate for this, this MTB helmet comes with extra pads, to customise the fit. Finally, the Fox Racing Drop Frame Pro's antimicrobial lining is easy to detach from the helmet.

Simply clicking this helmet over your smooth brain will see you instantly become a bike genius. Like the 50/01 crew, you'll be jibbing, flicking, and playfulling like every dingdong MTBer thinks is possible. It looks very cool. Like a moto trials helmet or the ones the F1 mechanics wear--if those looked cool. But you're still just a dingdong riding a bike down the trail. Cmon.

Awesome Helmet. Sizing Kinda Wacked.

I have always been a small/medium helmet guy. My head circumference is 57....Which put me (according to the sizing chart) right in the middle of the 56-58 Medium size. After reading a few reviews here...I decided to size UP...To a LARGE. Really glad I did. The large fits my "medium" head perfectly. Because this helmet was in low inventory just about everywhere I looked...I even had a medium-sized helmet saved in my cart, just in case the large was too large. It wasn't. Perfect fit. Incredible helmet. Fit and finish is amazing. Protection with the MIPS and fuller-coverage over ears and jaw is state-of-the-art...But the helmet is light enough to where I don't feel restricted...Or stuffy like some full face helmets. Really thoughtful design. One of the more expensive ... MoreI have always been a small/medium helmet guy. When my helmet first arrived I immediately tried it on and it was very tight on my head. I then realized that additional helmet pads were included that were thinner. I replaced the thicker pads that came with the helmet to the thinner pads. What a difference! The helmet fits nice and is comfortable. I really enjoy the added protection for my head. My friends all complement my new helmet. I ride in my local mountains a lot. Glad I made the purchase!

Excellent helmet that checks all the boxes
30 May 2021

So far I really like this helmet. The fit is very snug but it feels very secure. It's not so tight that I'm getting a headache. Once I start riding, I hardly notice it's on. Visibility is great; this helmet doesn't obstruct my view in any direction. Even though it fits snug, I can still wear my sunglasses (Mau Jim Sport) without it crushing into my temples or face. Also nice that the package came with extra set of padding. As another reviewer said, it does feel like it will feel hot on a hot day. I wish it was designed with more/better venting. Maybe a bug net on the inside would've been nice too.Overall, great helmet. I feel well protected without the obstructions a full face helmet might cause.

Great Helmet, Runs A Bit Small
4 April 2023

I love the way this helmet looks and feels. Not only does the design provide added protection but it also feels more secure on my head than a traditional half shell helmet due to the way it fits more like a full face. The ventilation is decent and this helmet runs much cooler in the summer than expected while the pads block my ears from cold air in the winter. The Fidlock buckle is an awesome feature that I didn't know I needed before having it. I will say that the fitment on this helmet is a bit different than usual. I normally run a medium but I found that I'm more comfortable with a large in this helmet. There is no on the fly adjustment so you will need to fine tune your fitment by swapping the different pad sizes which are included. Great helmet
25 November 2023

The Dropframe pro is a great helmet. I hardly even notice it on my head. I imagine it might be a little warm for summer riding, but it's great on these cooler fall days. I wanted a helmet that was more protective for my downhill shuttle days. I have used it on a 12 mile 1/2 up and then down ride and it was comfortable and gave me a great sense of security. I love the fit loc strap and the comfortable fit.

I ordered a medium based
28 December 2023

I ordered a medium based on my hat size. It was not even close. I would have broken it trying to put it on. I did the return process. Then spoke with a rep at Fox. They were courteous and helpful. The size large helmet arrived and fit fine after swapping a few pads around. I have used Fox gear for years and find it to be truly quality product. Just check sizing closely for this product

Looks rad. Perhaps offers more protection. The fit is strange and it’s not very comfortable.

This lid looks sick but the fit feels kind of odd when you’re used to a typical MTB helmet. I had to try the different thickness pads in various configurations to get it to sit right on my dome and it still feels strange. Also when I’m in my riding position the muscles on the back of my neck push the back of the helmet up which then forces the front of the helmet down causing the visor to come into my field of vision to a distracting level. It also pushes my glasses down. I find myself adjusting it on my head often. I’m hoping I’ll get used to it and it’ll break in or something because there’s no turning back now. I’d definitely warn anyone that’s interested in this helmet about these issues.Oh, also I grew up racing moto/bmx so I’ve worn various helmets my whole ... MoreThis lid looks sick but the fit feels kind of odd when you’re used to a typical MTB helmet. I’m 36 years old now and haven’t gained weight or anything so I reckon these things run a bit small.

No adjustments, so get it right!
29 March 2022

This is a very stylish and good looking helmet. Got compliments everytime in the trails. It is not the most ventilated helmet, but still can use it in our hot humid trails. Holds the sweat pretty well in the forehead cushion. Adjustment-wise however, there is none. The visor is fixed and is not adjustable. The sizing is fixed, and there is no knob to adjust anything... so get your sizing right! Beware that the sizing in this page does NOT include the Dropframe helmet. I went with what the Proframe sizing was, asuming it was the most similar to the Dropframe... but nah.Inside my MEDIUM helmet the sizing is spec'd from 54cm-56cm.Hope this helps!Cheers.

Perfect fit. Just like a glove for my massive head
4 December 2023

I'm really pushing the size limits with my cranium. But I fit like a glove in the XL. Really happy with the feel so far. Let's hope I don't have to review MIPS anytime soon.So if you have a 23+ inch cranium. You should be ok. The ears fit perfectly and the cheek pads are just right at XL.
