This is my second 38. I consider it the best mass produced fork on the market for control, comfort and steering precision. I am giving it a 4 star though because I haven't taken this one apart to get all the extra grease out of the air chamber and it's behaving poorly because of it. I love fox products, but am really sick of having to take apart brand new forks to get rid of all the extra grease they put in at the factory.

If you are looking for a very tunable fork this is it, but if you are not ready to adjust it (witch may take a lot of time and multiple test rides) it might not be the fork you are looking for.In terms of durability, I have had this fork(38 factory 170mm 29”) and another version(38 factory 170mm 27,5”) for two years and have never encountered any issues even if I ride very hard and have crashed a couple of times

Good fork stong and stiff, good on just a trail ride or for hitting anything even a full on dh track, setting up is a bit more involved than a set of rockshox’s or something, but much more grip and smoothness,
