Easy to build-in and cheap price for USB C!!

For the price you're getting a lot of nice features. If I had to put it down in any way: I really had to tie the cables down at the back to get the rear door to stay on without popping off. The build quality of the clips that holdd the doors in place could he better. Other than that I'm happy with this case, looks great with my setup.

Excellent product.

This is my second Fractal Design based build. The 7 Compact is a extremely well designed case that was very easy to build in.However the included paperwork was lacking in small details such as how to take off the front panel (it has round tabs) but it didn't take me more than 5 minutes to work it all out.The resulting PC is extremely quiet.

Great Case

Great case

Great case. It's tool- and effort-less to open, making it easy to get in and then to close again. This goes for pretty much all of the panels and the many mesh filters that it comes with. It also has an alternate top panel, in case you want to make use of fans/radiators at the top. It only comes with the one fan, so you'll want to get a couple extra. It's a bit more compact than your usual mid-tower cases, because it condenses the space in front where you'd usually stack the hard drives, and relegates that to the 'cubby' at the bottom, in front of where the PSU sits, so you've got two 3.5" caddies that fit in there, and otherwise you can put in 4 Sata SSDs (although only 2 caddies are included). The front is big enough for 240,280, and 360mm radiators (so the fans ...Β MoreGreat case. It's tool- and effort-less to open, making it easy to get in and then to close again. The top has a little less clearance, so it's recommended to use 240mm or smaller rads there, depending on the motherboard you've got. There's certainly the capacity for decent cable management, though it may depend on the PSU you've gotten, as in my case (pun intended) it's only partly modular, and I feel that may be detrimental to the ease of organisation. Or I'm just making excuses for being bad at it.I use closed-loop liquid coolers for the CPU and GPU, and with the right amount of tweaking they can sit just below 30 degrees at idle without noticeable noise, so I don't think there's much issue with airflow if you've got the fans for it.Note that only the one side panel is glass, so the use of RGB might go... unappreciated, unless immediately visible from there.

Great case but cozy
18 May 2023

Possibly not the best case for my first build, but I wanted something quiet, quality and not massive so this fitted the bill. Very robust and well made, fits together well but with easy access. The latter point has a downside though - the space behind the motherboard is so tight that I had difficulty fitting the cables in a way that wouldn't mean the side of the case popped off (no screws, just a clip).I'd still recommend it, but with the caveat that with 2 HDDs in the cage, cable management could be tricky. I've seen this mentioned on some full reviews so glad it's not just newbie challenges!

Matt's review of Fractal Design Define 7 Compact Black Solid
8 January 2022

Pros: Really neat and compact case. If you've not got too many 3.5" or 5.25" drives it makes perfect sense. Probably better suited to mATX board but will fit ATXCons: A tiny bit more room for cables at the back would be nice. Also a bit more breathability at the front. Airflow is a bit restricted.

Nice case, but
29 March 2023

The case has a nice clean finish and is reasonably spacious with my micro-ATX mobo inside it. Unfortunately the case arrived without mounting screws... what? How am I supposed to mount the motherboard? Am I expected to have an unspecified number of unknown sized screws just lying around my house waiting for this? It is also worth noting to future builders that using an AIO water system might cause issues as the space from the top of the case to the motherboard isn't that much, So choose carefully what cooler you will use.

Smart, quiet and solid case
23 November 2020

Really liking this case - runs super quiet and looks smart and unassuming. The easy-release side panels are really useful for quick inspections/changes to the system inside. Cable routing is very good with enough space for my build in the back.Case is well made and feels very solidOnly drawbacks to the case is that it could use some more accessibility for front fan cables to route through the back to the mobo, as I ran into some small issues installing. Also lacks a bit of compatibility with some motherboards and USB 3.0 ports if the port is at a 90 degree angle (example being some of the MSI ATX X570 boards) this makes it difficult to install the front panel USB 3.0

So quiet!
9 July 2022

Got this case because I had a similar one many years ago by Fractal and after trying a gaming laptop for a few years, the first thing I noticed was how loud laptops were! I can sleep in the same room with this case and PC running, super quiet (even with 2 additional fans installed) and it has lots of cable management options that made installing PSU and Mobo pretty easy. I personally like the simple clean look, not a fan of glass panels. Only downside is that it's heavy (10kg) so if you like going to LANs, wouldn't recommend for you :)
